Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! ruclips.net/user/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
I had the same problem. There is a 2-3 inch Tube that goes from the PUMP Motor to the OUTLET. It was Clogged with debirs/dirt/lint. I had to open up the back of the unit, I then had to Open up the Pump Motor Housing, then disconnected the the TUBE. and CLEANED IT WITH PIPE CLEANER. Once cleaned, I reconnected the TUBE to the Motor/Pump and to the Outlet Drain Fixture. And Tadda! It was fixed!
When you were having this issue, was the compressor still turning on? Ours is a year old, and first fire up this spring, the fan runs but no compressor kicking on. The drain tube which we replaced was nasty and cruddy however...
Thank you for being the first. Disassembly and assembly were still aggravating to take apart and keep the screw lengths and locations. Your RUclips follow-up service of the inner screen (now there are two) in the collection cup above the tank under the coils. Access is simpler if after exterior panels, below the gerbil cage, two screws will separate the top assembly (without the coils) to allow the access cover to lift off the collection rectangle cups and their screens. This avoids the high voltage electronics box removal. The best cleaning method after wiping was using a Waterpik. Still, mine is blocked and I am going after the pump top (third rebuild) and checking the collection hole for flow. The drain pump runs but is clogged or broken. I thought the dehumidifier was electrically dead after the first re-assembly but the control panel was not locked into the outer screen slots and hooks separating the switches from the touchpad by a gap. Very tight operation snapping the control panel nearly installed there is just enough slack in the wires to put the tongue in groves and swing the panel switch panel up into the snaps. It is not necessary to disconnect any electricals just the routing catches for some slack. The access cover to the collection obviously was first designed to be removed without disassembly but the level float interference to lift out apparently was an oversight in the design and lack of prototype failure mode service evaluation. Overall the design engineering team did a very good job and evolved the units well. The collection cup with the pump should come out for service with screens and hoses in future designs. Also embossing a triangle on either all the long or short screw locations helps production and service. This is triangle a molding plastics and metal industry best practice manufacturing and users could use. I would use a marker on this model in hindsight to mark long screw locations.
here's what I did, when all tubes were clear. take the cover off the pump (2 screws), there are 2 wires to the pump. one of the wires has a thermal cutout wired just before it connects to the pump (seki 22). take that thermal cutout out of its case next to the pump and it will reset. at some point the pump got too hot, also that thermal cutout switch is right next to the compressor, which gets hot.
Glad to find this video. I have the same issue and about the exact same setup. I am in NC and using this under the house to reduce moisture there and it works well for that. I do the regular maintenance to clean the air and water filters. Mine has a horizontal run off the dehumidifier using the pump to one of the main house drain lines running across the ground. Like LoRollinLS, when I had this issue and did some troubleshooting I tested and noticed I get water from the pump in a 5-gallon bucket but also the internal bucket. Mine has been running for 2-3 years so one thing to add that might help others is that I noticed my unit works great in the summer, the internal bucket never fills up! Then some time as we move toward winter the pump function changes and seems to split (not sure what percentage) the water output to the internal bucket and the pump. I have seen this for at least two years. About to watch the next video and might try locating and cleaning that internal tube, thanks!
Had a blinking pump light. Had to empty bucket, as water would not pump out. Called HS customer service regarding the water filter being difficult to remove and they advised the filter does NOT come out; it is fixed in place. HS had me go through a "press the on button for 30 seconds to reset" scenario. That did not last. Saw the message from Wilkerson below. Monkeyed with the water filter again-and it popped right out, covered in gunk. Cleaned the gooey water filter right off with warm water. No problem. Waiting to see if this remedy's the water not pumping out. So far, so good.
Cleaning the water filter did not work. Tried the pipe cleaner method suggested below. Water still not pumping out. All lines clear. Any idea how to replace the pump, or if it is worth it?
I also experienced this problem. I have a different model of the 70 pint built in pump. On my model behind the bucket is a disclaimer to clean the water filter every 3 months. The water filter is accessible directly obove bucket. This was not mentioned in the manual.
Same with my model. I also stumbled across the instructions while emptying the bucket. I just cleaned the nasty looking filter after two years of use but it didn’t help. I going to try the short tube next.
Hisense...I have the exact model but a Garrison in Canada! My pump is not working to pump the water out...It's been in service for years and has worked very very well for me!
I have the exact same unit. I did what it said about the pump The red light coming on . Bucket is full of water. Unit will NOT come on. I cleaned filters. Bucket full Red f light over pump on, unit will not c ome on Ideas,?
EmsPilot66, I actually didn’t Have a problem with the tube being clogged. Please watch my other videos regarding this repair and you will see what was actually wrong with this one. Thanks for watching!
Hey, I'm looking for help with the original setup to make sure I've put the tube into the unit correctly. The manual says, "Attach the tube properly." Hmmm. So I just stuck it in there. But I haven't tried turning it on yet because I'm sure it will leak if not done correctly. Any word of wisdom? BTW, mine is a newer model and the attachment point is within the machine. So kinda hard to tell if it's in there right or not.
I think the "internal" tube is clogged,,,,,, The Pump sounds like it is "straining".... but I am not sure how to unclog it. I tried blowing air into it with a Basketball Air-Pump.
so what was the actual problem did you fix it were having the same problem at my work we have 5 of the same dehumidifiers i cant find your follow up video please msg me back on what you did to fix this problem
I also having trouble with mine. It doesn’t work correctly with settings on normal. If I put the dial on continuous it works. Is it OK to run on continuous ?
mine is doing the same exact thing right now, had it for over 6 months and just now having this problem, same brand just a slightly bigger one, did you ever find out what was wrong with it?
☝️*Attention* Please do not post opinions in regards to what you think the problem is and repair suggestions. This video was posted long ago. Notice the follow up video links in the description! This video is left up as merely reference material.
Thank you for this and the follow up video. I have two that I bought in the late summer and one no longer drains and the other is intermittent. Personally, I am not going to do anything as a product like this should work for a while. Since I bought them at Costco I will just return them. However, if I had them longer it is good to know what to do to fix the problem.
You said you put in new tubing I thought in the video. What tubing were you referencing? Our pump tube is yellow brown and nasty. We tried to clean it but that didn't work and Hi Sense claims they don't sell that part. So I'm wondering how I can replace that. We are very allergic to specific molds it seems and we have had nightmare problems with things that wouldn't bother most people so I'm trying to replace. Any ideas how? Thanks!
Jaclyn Sullivan, oh im sorry it’s been a while since I made this video. I thought you may have been referring to the tube inside of the unit. The clear tubing in this video actually came with my unit and I just replaced it with a standard size that you can buy at Lowe’s by the foot, I think maybe 1/4” not sure. Just take an old piece with you when you go to match the size up. As far as replacing it goes, you just plug it into the quick connect fitting, nothing to it.
I guess it’s a good thing that I’m not hooked up to a public sewer then. This is piped into my private septic tank. Also, been using this setup for 4 years and it has worked well.
@@lorollinls the reason it's not "correct" is because any failure in the tubing could lead to septic venting or spill. There is a better/safer/more legal way, but as long as you keep the whole system closed it's probably not terribly unsafe.
Mine ran and ran at first and never produced any water…thought, hummm. Maybe this basement really doesn’t need it. Funny, past ones had to emptied regularly and clean, etc..till quit. New one right out of box just ran and ran. No water! Wow! Fixed the problem, ha, right! I put it up while out of town, now back, turned it on and water all over the floor. Nothing has ever landed in the bucket! Thought plumbing was leaking but no it was the dehumidifier…the one with the dry water tank. SMH. It is new and I don’t know what to do as my husband through the box away…didn’t keep receipt..uggh. Has this happened to anyone. This is the one that has the hose drain option but I just want it to fill the tank so I can see what is being taken from air. Help
Mine is not dehumidifying. I dont think it's ever worked, actually. Any advice on what the issue could be? I can hear the fan running just fine and I think I can hear the coil/condensor running as well but I never get any water in the bucket or hose.
It sounds like that the compressor "might" not be turning on. Does the unit blow warm or cold air out of the back? If it is only blowing out cold air all of the time, it "could" be the compressor not turning on. It could mean that the control board isn't turning the compressor on, or that there is a relay burned up. I would pull this thing apart and have a look inside just to see if you can find anything obvious. Remember to unplug this thing first! Let me know what you find out.
Dude, you are awesome! I just tore my humidifier totally apart - down to the coils and cleaned everything. It was so totally filthy inside that it made yours look brand new. It is currently running and I can hear the dehumidifier running. Thank you so much for your help and taking the time to post the videos and comments!
Curious if you remove the bucket from your unit, look at the upper right corner of where the bucket sits, do you have the black plug installed? My black plug is installed and wondering if that has to be removed in order to get water in the bucket. (I've since removed the plug and waiting to see if the bucket will now fill with water.)
Aggie Nodari, it would be nice if you would actually add something of value when you comment on RUclips instead of littering up all of my dehumidifier videos with bullshit comments. If you have nothing of value to add, GTFO!

Take off the back cover. There is a small(about 2in) clear tube that will be clogged also.

How did you replace the dirty tube? Ours is disgusting after only a couplemonths and won't come clean!
Jaclyn Sullivan, I didn’t replace a tube. If yours is dirty, I wouldn’t worry about it unless it’s just clogged up.
Thank you for this and the follow up video. I have two that I bought in the late summer and one no longer drains and the other is intermittent. You can't pipe that drain tube direct to sewer pipe, has to piped to an indirect drain

HI. Is this dehumidifier a condensation or a desiccant type?
CONDENSATION
My pump quit working also.
My Hisense is brand new 2023 and pump light flashes. All water goes into the bucket. Tried everything. Made in China. What can I say.
Did you ever get an error code of E9?
No, I sure haven’t.
MINE HAS AN E9 CODE cannot contact Hisense
With as many bad reviews of these things that all list E9 codes I can’t believe there isn’t one video on here about it
Mine is not dehumidifying. I dont think it's ever worked, actually. Any advice on what the issue could be?

Wow, man that was quick, you've been hard at work! Thank you for the kind words. Is it currently collecting water?
LoRollinLS after it runs for a bit I'll check the bucket and advise.
How to fix frozen coil mine is frozen every 30 min
how to complete sentence type understand i can not
probably low freon
This can be caused by lack of air flow or running it in temps that are too low. Try cleaning the removable air filters. It makes a big difference.
Dirty coils or low Freon.
I'm having the same issue! Help anyone!!
Mine is doing same thing out of box brand new
Same here Need Help. Pump will not work. I called and they told me how to reset the unit and same thing-Mine is Brand New..
Mines is doing the same exact thing...
Ice collecting
mine lasted 3 years... never again
Your lift is too high on that pump
Stay away from this product
