- There are baluns on the market that sell for about $1.00 an there are others that sell for about $10. I bought some of each and compared them on my antenna using my TV tuner. The results may surprise you.
This is partly a video responding to someone else who did the same sort of test.
1) You explain things very well.
2) That jumping effect is hilarious.
3) I've never heard the word balun before (nor, apparently, has autocorrect) - I looked it up but still don't really get its purpose in your system ... so that's maybe one little * to #1. 😉
4) Your t-shirt collection is impressive.
5) I'm gonna need a closeup of that first t-shirt ... I can't quite read the translations.
6) That was quite the effort to go to to save $9. That price differential punchline cracked me up.
RUclips lost my reply. I am going to edit this one step by step
1) Thankyou
2) I think I should add sound if I do it again
3) "Balun" is short for "Balanced to unbalanced converter transformery thing-a-ma-bob"
4) Yes I have many
5) I may do that in a bit]
6) I didn't save any money. I was using the $1.00 baluns and saw a video saying that the $10.00 ones work a lot better. I bought them to put it to the test and my results suggest that I wasted about $30. I did the conclusions with the $10 ones still up in the attic. I bought 3 of them so I could do it that way. I hope I saved someone some money.

1) You're welcome.
2) That will be fun!
3) I saw that, but I still have no idea what it's for.
4) Are they all the same color?
5) Let me know!
@@UkeCan1 I wore all light colored ones to make it a little less obvious that the segments were shot way out of order.
Some of the sound was also done out of order. The voice-over up in the attic was done at my PC. The park was a different day.
@@kensmith5694 Haha, I don't usually do any editing of multiple takes ... but if I did, you wouldn't know ... I just have like 15 of the same exact top. 🤣🤣🤣
