To answer some of your questions: 1. Yes, the later movies get much darker in tone. 2. The in-universe reason for why they don't use modem technology is that because they have magic, they never had a pressure to invent or use it, since everything technology does for us they can do by magic. 3. As for why Harry's parents aren't ghosts, most people when they die don't become ghosts. People only become ghosts if they had some unfinished business in life that they can't let go of, and the pull has to be very strong because being a ghost is a very unfulfilling existence.
Harry asked this to near headless Nick in book 6.. if you choose to became a ghost you get stuck in this existence forever, I will never "go on". Maybe that's why Harry's parents didn't came back too
Rons desire was not just to be Quidditch captain. He has 5 older brothers and they have all had great achievements and Ron feels overshadowed by his brothers so his desire is to be better than them and to have greater achievements and be noticed as Ron for his own talents and not just the brother of so and so
I think it's also being the youngest/forgotten son. Mrs Weasley is kind and loving and overall a good mum. But after three sons, she desperately wanted a daughter. When she finally had Jenny, she put a lot more attention on her. So the three sons in the middle often got the short end. The twin boys (Fred and George) had each other so I guess they didn't mind. But Ron didn't really have anyone. @@rhaenyralikesyoutube6289 The point was that it's not that Snape was biased in favor of Slytherin, but rather he had a SPECIFIC bias against Gryffindor.
The wizarding world had to go into hiding from muggles in the 17th century and they stick with the old fashion and lifestyle, it's a culture thing and the 'good old days' for them. Harry's aunt and uncle are very annoying, but he really has to stay with them, it is very important. If not mentioned in the movies, I will tell you later, when more will be explained. They never mention it in the movie, just in the book - it was Dumbledore who gave Harry the invisibility cloak. It belonged to Harry's father James and Dumbledore borrowed it from him before James was killed. He just gave it back to Harry now. Yes, they know how Voldemort looks like. Years ago, even before Harry was born and when he was a baby, there was a great wizarding war between the dark wizard Voldemort, Voldemort's followers and the 'good guys'. But after Voldemort killed Harry's parents, he lost his body and disappeared and now he is living off of another living creatures, like here parasiting on Quirrell's head. Oh, and if you are wondering why everyone is happy that Slytherin didn't won the cup, it's because Slytherin won the last six years and this would be their seventh win. Snape always takes points from other houses for any little reason, so I think that Dumbledore with his final points actually made up for Snape's favoritism. Loved your reaction and can't wait for the next ones! A little later those won't be kids movies anymore.

Yes! Molly (his mom) actually wanted a girl, but she got Ron. Then she finally got Ginny, and put a lot of attention on her. Bill, Charlie and Percy had all achieved their goals, which left the three sons in the middle. Fred and George had each other so it was not as bad, but Ron didn't really have anyone...
Great reaction guys! The first two movies in the franchise are definitely aimed at children but when the director changes to Alfonso Cuaron for the third one the tone really starts to shift into something a lot darker. The films kind of mature as the main characters mature. Theres a lot of stuff that happens in the first couple of films that become important bits of information for later films though :) And you will definitely get more side character development throughout the films like you're hoping for! I'll look forward to the rest :)
10:27 I don't know if you guys know that already but Minerva is the head of gryffindor so when she saw that harry could be a potential seeker for the gryffindor team, she didn't got mad because she wants her house to win the quidditch cup lmfao
I would also like to add that Minerva was a Chaser in her school days, and she saw that Harry was Gryffindor's best chance at winning the House cup that year since Slytherin had won it six years in a row by the time Harry arrived for his first year.
I saw an interview where they said the scene in the train in the begining. The kids all had to do their scenes individually because they couldn't stop laughing. That's why all the shots are close up and no real wide shots
The first thing Snape asks Harry is “Potter! What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?” According to Victorian Flower Language, asphodel is a type of lily meaning ‘My regrets follow you to the grave’ and wormwood means ‘absence’ and also typically symbolised bitter sorrow. If you combined that, it meant ‘I bitterly regret Lily’s death’.
There's also a deleted scene at that part where he realizes Harry doesn't know anything so he sits Infront of him and loudly says what wolvesbane and the other plants are and their functions for the whole class
14:20 it's actually kinda sad... ron wants to be noticed because he's got 5 older brothers who all are known for something and he feels like even if he does something amazing, it's not that special because one of his brothers has already done it.. so by wanting to be headboy and quidditch captain he would be the best of them all (because from what i remember a couple of his brothers became head boy and one became quidditch captain) not to mention his best friend is famous so yikes-
Ron's vision in the mirror is much deeper than wanting to just be the captain of the quidditch team. it's about feeling overshadowed and wanting to prove himself

18:49 why Ron is in Gryffindor T_T He's such an awesome character. He's even better in the books, all this good lines are given to Hermione in the movies.
I had the same thought. I don't remember that scene all but maybe they cut it out when they show the movies on TV? I could see some TV exec thinking it depicts a choking hazard or something silly like that.
Each house has 1 ghost in Hogwarts. I'm not sure what you are asking, but I will answer anything I can, as long as I can understand what you want to know.
Ye, the reason that not everyone is a ghost is if someone rlly cannot get over how they died, or forgive themselves for what they have done. Hogwarts ghosts are confined to Hogwarts, and remain there for eternity so far as I know.
Actually as explained in the 5th Book, To become a Ghost you also need to fear death beyond anything else. Nearly Headless Nick admits to Harry that he was afraid of death.
The Devil's Snare scene is supposed to be Ron's moment. Hermione forgot she is a witch and wanted to find some logs to make fire, but Ron be like:"Are you a witch or not? Use the fire spell!" It is not entirely accurate but it kinda went like that
It took me years to figure out the lines spoken while they were catching the flying key. Harry says, "It's too simple". Which sounds like a dig on the puzzle being too easy - there must be a catch. But Ron follows up with, "If Snape can catch it on that old broomstick, you can." He's not questioning their answer to the puzzle, just reassuring Harry he has the skills needed. They were commenting on the broom being too simple - it was an old broom with no decent features as compared to his Nimbus 2000. He was worried he wouldn't be able to catch the key.
omg what version of the movie is this? there are definitely parts here that i've never seen before! this is awesome! like the part where his aunt cracks an egg on one of the letters
you guys are like an alternate Harold & Kumar lol such a good reaction. love the guy on the lefts reaction to the Wizarding world, always nice seeing someone discover these amazing movies
11:11 Growing up in Australia, where the school year starts in January (because, you know, the seasons are different), I was so confused as a kid, why it's suddenly Halloween. Not to mention Christmas being in the middle of the movie.
I know, it's weird, but many of the names, Rowling was based on characters and animals from legends and myths, and especially for spells, she used the Latin language.
She took inspiration from several things. “Snape” she found as a street name on a map. “Voldemort” is a French portmanteau, means ‘flight from death’. “Weasley” sounds like ‘weasel’, an animal she is fond of. “Hermione” is from Shakespeare’s A Winter’s Tale. “Dumbledore” is an old English word for ‘bumblebee’.
I discovered by reading the books that the House Elves make the food in the castle kitchen and Dumbledore magically transports it from the kitchen to the tables.

Hey, I came across your channel recently and have enjoyed your reactions of the Conjuring series, LOTR. I watch Harry Potter whenever I feel low. Today, I just wanted to watch some HP reactions and you guys came to my rescue. Thank you. Keep up the good work. ❤️
Woohoo! What joy to start on this journey again with new friends (that's subscribed for you)! As others have said it's gonna be really fun especially once you cross the first two movies...
Also I hope you guys get a mic stand or something - it can't be easy to be holding up the mic for 2+ hours!
We don’t have room in the budget lol...but we’ll get there
Just started on your HP reactions and as you said "it seems more like a kids movie" I actually laughed out loud. The 4th one onwards will take that personally as I'm sure you found out. 🤣
The style is also quintessentially English.
this came out when i was 11, id read the book too and every year i was the same age as harry and i loved it
I like How you say That you will never read the Books and now you have heard all the audiobooks. It just Shows how good That Story is
I know this video is from three years ago, but I found your channel within the past year and I’m catching up on all the videos. I’m shocked between the difference of me being able to quote all 8 movies by heart and the two of you never having seen it before. It’s so fun to watch!!
AWESOME REACTION! CANT WIT FOR YOU GUYS TO WATCH THE REST :)
This was pure nostalgia at the start of my teenage years!!!! Harry's 1st year at Hogwarts is and always will be my topmost favorite of all time!!!🧙♂️
You called it, being Quirrell! Keep thinking that way. The series does get darker as it goes. Subbed! 🎥 💓 🍿
18:49 why Ron is in Gryffindor T_T
He's such an awesome character. He's even better in the books, all this good lines are given to Hermione in the movies.
I came here from the final book review!! “I’m never gonna read the books” 🤣😂 so glad you did!! Love you guys!
"I'm never gonna read the books" aged well :p
“I blame Dumbledore.” ..... you got it
wait wait wait WAIT
that egg cracking scene with the letters coming out...WHAT?!
I've seen this movie so many times and this scene is never on it????
I had the same thought. I don't remember that scene all but maybe they cut it out when they show the movies on TV? I could see some TV exec thinking it depicts a choking hazard or something silly like that.
I think they watched the extended cut
it's an extended cut! it's in the blu-ray version i think
Excited to watch your journey through the wizarding universe! when are yall planing to watch the second one?
Should have one every week, and more often potentially. We might do a Patreon with early access if that’s something y’all are interested in.
Damn wish I could erase my memory and experience it for the first time all over again. Tho I'll never get tired of re-watching it.
OMG I've just realized that they have dubbed the word "philosopher's stone" to "sorcerer's stone" for the american version😳
15:25
Each house has 1 ghost in Hogwarts. I'm not sure what you are asking, but I will answer anything I can, as long as I can understand what you want to know.
He's holding the mic haha respect that
I have found the Harry Potter reactions and now I’m binging, always love watching HP reactions. 😄
Living under the stair. Then find out rich and everybody knows you. #LifeGoals
Great start, guys. Looking forward to your progress.
“I’m never going to read the books” ah how that has aged😂
I will be here till the end deffinitely. Subscribed! Love new reactions to this movie ❤️
6:39 "Is there something that he's not telling him or we don't know?" Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... no comment
The Devil's Snare scene is supposed to be Ron's moment. Hermione forgot she is a witch and wanted to find some logs to make fire, but Ron be like:"Are you a witch or not? Use the fire spell!" It is not entirely accurate but it kinda went like that
24:53 "even the little blone-haired bitch...what's-his-name..."
cut to Starkid's Potter musicals 😆😆😆😆
It took me years to figure out the lines spoken while they were catching the flying key. Harry says, "It's too simple". Which sounds like a dig on the puzzle being too easy - there must be a catch. But Ron follows up with, "If Snape can catch it on that old broomstick, you can." He's not questioning their answer to the puzzle, just reassuring Harry he has the skills needed.
They were commenting on the broom being too simple - it was an old broom with no decent features as compared to his Nimbus 2000. He was worried he wouldn't be able to catch the key.
5:45, actually, Olivander is just like that.
omg what version of the movie is this? there are definitely parts here that i've never seen before! this is awesome! like the part where his aunt cracks an egg on one of the letters
im obsessed with your reactions. new subscriber!!
Thank you!!!
and yes a lot of side character development
you guys are like an alternate Harold & Kumar lol such a good reaction. love the guy on the lefts reaction to the Wizarding world, always nice seeing someone discover these amazing movies
@@chrissmith6097 Thank you, i really don't know to much about it.
@@melannyratliff9429 I was just adding to your comment. You’re correct about getting some from legends/myths and Latin for spells
I believe you guys are watching the extended version with the deleted scenes too. the egg cracking scene in the start is unfamiliar
I discovered by reading the books that the House Elves make the food in the castle kitchen and Dumbledore magically transports it from the kitchen to the tables.
Oh my god by far the best reaction voice I have heard! The mic is amazing!
The longer movies might be needed to done in two or three parts
We might have to do that. We have the full reactions up on Patreon.
@@whitenoisereacts glad you are considering that.... have you ever seen the 1950?movie Harvey?starring James Stewart ?it is about a man who claims to have a 6 ft invisible Rabbit as a friend.
love the series! what an adventure.
Me watching First movie: Voldemort is scary, not that interested
Me watching 4th movie: Voldemort is a bad ass and acts like an idiot. This I gotta see 😂
Me the rest of the series: hilarious. Voldemort is still an idiot! And where’s his nose? He had it in the first movie what did Harry do plastic surgery? Lol 🤣
Me reading the first book: convenient that this happened at the end of the school year.
me reading the third book: oooh jkr just forgets she built up stakes until the last 5 chapters of the books
me reading the last 4 books: she really puts off everything till the last few chapters
oooohohoho you guys are in for a riiiide
the series of movies and books is amazing
idk how you just held that mic the entire movie, man hats off to you for that.
"You are The Main Character, Harry ..".
First time watching a video from this channel and I'm enjoying it so far. I like your reactions and comments about the movies.
