      Dre Vision When I was A kid in 1968 Mr. Brown mezmorized me at Flint Michigan's Whitting Auditorium and there will never be another Entertaining Artist ever in any living persons life will measure up. He was like a Earthquake that changed the shape of music and dance. He could sing and dance like nobody else but changed everybody else. He came from the woods and built mansions. My hat is off to you Mr. Brown.

    Ed Sullivan deserves a lot of credit. He is the most uptight white man on television, yet he broke ground for a lot of black performers.

      Amen!

    • @philiphatfield5666
      @philiphatfield5666 6 месяцев назад +45

      He came across as 'uptight', but he was really a hip cat. He was a real connoisseur of American culture and he embraced all kinds of talent. He wanted people of all ages to be entertained. He was a brilliant newspaper columnist and he knew all about contract law. Remember, he paid all of these acts that appeared on his television show, and being on his show was very important if an act wanted to make it big in show business. If he appeared a little stiff in front of the camera, it was supposedly due to the fact that the lights in that small studio were incredibly hot----even for that era. For those of us who grew up in the 1960's, the Ed Sullivan Show was must-see TV!

    Known as the Godfather of Soul, but maybe a little unnoticed as a genius when it comes to performing. If you loved his records and wanted to hear him live, he mezmorized a crowd by performing his tunes in a completely different way, style or tempo. "Pure Dynamite" accurately described him and very personable. From the early days with a complete show with 30 people, down to the 80's and 90's smaller group of maybe 12, he never shorted his audience. Without a doubt "The hardest working man in show business".

    The One, The Only..."James Brown, and The Fabulous Flames!" I saw James perform at the Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport. As his final song was ending, he was in a single spotlight. Today I am wearing a shirt with a print of James Brown to my study Medicine. We will have a discussion about our own values and to me James Brown is the personification of all I stand for. Fighting for yourself and your brothers and sisters will pay off.
    'James Brown is dead'? He is truly the embodiment of life ❤

      This is assuming that today's music would even be possible without the legends... Switching time periods, you could say that a lot of today's artist wouldn't be successful in older periods. People's taste changes.
