The new one from Das Finale: Part 2 puts the Chi-Ha-Tan gang in a new light for me. They don't charge because all of them are stupid, they do it because it's a tradition of the school.

@@LordOfGilneas yeah, they had people that did crazy stuff, they also had some soldiers desert after receiving suicidal orders. Reality is always more complex than the propaganda reels, still there is a reason they ended up getting bombed rather than invaded, no-one wanted to deal with that level of fanaticism at the end.
There *is* actually some logic in their charging though, their main battle tanks had toilet paper for armor and a puny 57mm that did next to squat at range. Their only realistic shot was to get in a literal point-blank to the rear.
@@LordOfGilneas in Saipan the IJA armoured corps did those kind of attacks at night on Sherman tanks though predictably they got wiped but not before pushing the americans away for a bit.
“Yuki no Shingun” used to be my favorite to listen to (starting with Erwin and Yukari singing in the special), but “Chihatan no Raba-san” is starting to grow on me. It’s very bouncy compared to the others

These girls and any girls of this series are much more capable than our IRL counter parts. There's also a looming idea that these people are superhumans for how they can easily push and topple a tankette and how they can easily carry a 100 KG plate armor as if they're plastic. Logic cannot go along with it. Thus for them to look stupid, they had to stick on traditions, that is to charge no matter what ends. They are not even ashamed for it. But with came of age, times change and they had to convert some of these 'charges' as Tactical Ops, as long as there's a 'Charge' by the title and name. So i say it again, all of the Schools who attend them are Geniuses themselves. Too talented to be on land and already capable and independent if they want to. And the Chi Ha Tan School ship and its students are nothing to shun of. They are just like this due to the tradition that stuck.
