Please sir show in practical how to change the date on the column and also across at the top. Most clients. Most client wants to see real dates only. I think is crazy that Microsoft gave such a template without real dates to begin with.

Hi! This is great, but is there a way of changing the actual periods to dates? So instead of period 1 (I8) I have 06/02 ? And can just put 06/02 as start and 08/02 as end date in columns C and D?
+Anne Landgraf Hi! Its possible. Just change the number format of entire 8th row to the date format you wish and then also change the number format of cell N3 (Period Highlight) to the same date format. Hope thats what you are looking for.
Good to point out you also then have to change the plan start and actual to dates as well (columns C & E). Thanks for this, it's helpful. Only new question is, once you change to dates, the period highlight no longer works. You can manually enter dates but the arrows take you back to 1990. Can you advise?

Dates are numbers. no reason to link to the cell, you can change the formatting to date and change the numbers to dates and it will work
