Serbia... wow! Didn't expect we'd be in Belgrade making travel vlogs if you asked us a few years ago, but here we are, and we LOVE Belgrade! This place is an amazing, and very underrated, travel destination - let us show you why.
In this vlog we sort of cover both our initial impressions of Belgrade, how we feel about Serbia, our surprises and then at the end wrap it up after we've stayed for 2 weeks in Serbia. Theres lots of things to do in Belgrade - we visit the Fortress, explore a cute park, find an amazing restaurant scene, scope out the nightlife spots, eat some local(ish) food, check out the shopping scene and try some local craft beer.
First impressions last, or so they say, and it's true for Belgrade. How we felt on the first day is exactly how things stayed a few weeks later - it's amazing! We also took a road trip to Novi Sad for the day with friends, another popular spot in Serbia, but we weren't filming that day sorry.
Moral of the story - consider places like Serbia, cities like Belgrade, locations that the masses don't always chat about and share online. These are the cities and experiences we love, places like Belgrade are why we travel - hidden gems that we get to experience, travel, vlog and share with you... thanks us later.

I just can't wait to go back to Belgrade, and Serbia in general. The Belgrade still has what many European capitals like Paris, as an example, lost some 30+ years ago. The deep, genuine, maybe a bit old-fashioned, but definitelly worthwhile characteristic, the soul.

Belgrade is the one place where people are so reluctant to come but after visiting I have never heard a bad word expressed about it. If you love cafes, bars, restaurants, nightlife, nature, music, art, history everything you need is there! I'm born in Australia but absolutely love Serbia and Serbian culture and food. It is such an amazing palce filled with an energy you have to see to believe. I hope you guys got to see some of the amazing Fortresses and Castles around Serbia as well like Smederevo, Maglic, and Golobacka Tradjava. Thank you so much for showing the charm of such a small beautiful country.
P.S. The price of breakfast they showed was in probably the most expensive part of Belgrade... 😅
Come again anytime you want my friend :)
We're glad the world is realizing we're not savages from Hollywood movies. We have a lot to offer, considering we're a small south-European nation. Very loong history, so long that most of the churches built in Serbia are older than the oldest American state. Very big heart and open arms for everybody. Cheers mate! :)
I love Australia and have relatives there who live in Melbourne , i would love to go to Australia because I've never been overseas and have only seen the ocean once , in Greece , and i would like to see the opera building in Sydney too! Also you have the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad too , which is a Fortress with a lot of restaurants and cafes and with apartment buildings in which people still live in , really beautiful.
This just brought back memories from my visit to Belgrade two years back. Surely an amazing experience kudos to all my Serbian friends! Cheers from India :)

Serbia is now much more popular thanks to Djokovic and Serbian basketball team.
Belgrade has been through a lot. I remember going there when I was a teen in 2000, a year after the NATO bombing and it was a shell of a city. You could still see the buildings that had been half destroyed, it was painful to watch. I went back a few years ago and it's blossomed so much since then, you have to admire the resilience of that country and of the people within. Belgrade is one of my favorite places to go to now, great food, great night life, lovely people.
@@cptmario Why do you come to watch these videos if you hate Serbia? The fact that I said Belgrade has been through a lot doesn't mean other cities didn't suffer. But how does it help that you call serbs blood thirsty dogs when you're the one coming to these videos to spread hate? Just take your nationalism and go somewhere else.
@@kat.5927 its not nationalism . What he said is true
@@tgashi8264 Yes it is nationalism. Why doesn't he talk about what Croatians did then? Looks awesome guys! Those European countries have such beautiful spaces & architecture. Love it! 😉👍
The only bad thing about Serbia and EX-Yugoslav countries when it comes to architecture is the communist era buildings. Now they did have a purpose, it was cheap to build them and after ww2 the country was in bad need to build homes for people. But they are damn ugly, although there are some few commie style buildings that actually look cool. In general they are just grey and bland tbh.

Thanks guys for visiting Belgrade and telling and sharing your impressions. There is one interesting aspect of Belgrade worth mentioning - it's great for people who can work from home, like programmers - since you have absolutely everything you need (including super-fast internet) and the cost of living is very cheap compared to other European capitals. So with an average programmer's salary - you can live like a king and enjoy the quality of life you can hardly have in other capitals for the same amount of money. For example - for 500€ a month you can rent a great two-bedroom luxury apartment with all the amenities you would ever need in a great neighborhood, for another 300€-400€ you could eat in great restaurants the whole month and I mean every single day, and for another 200€ you can cover all the other costs and expenses you may have... and when you sum all that up - you cannot even rent a studio in the outskirts of Paris or London for that money. Also, Belgrade is in south-central Europe, so all major European cities are like 2 hours away by airplane, and with lowcost flights, it's a great hub for anyone to be based in.
I'm from Serbia and I love you!
Glory to Srbija! 🇷🇸
❤️
I was there and its amazing. I have family in smederevo. I think everyone should come to this area. Go on the Danube river if you can. Also go to split Croatia and tour lake plitvice. It blows Yosemite away!
Serbia is awesome 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻💕💕
Great Belgrade episode. As usual you two always find a unique and under the radar perspective. Brilliant :)
Though your admittedly not clubbers, so great to see you both cutting loose a little. Love the editing and music in this one.
Really feel like you've opened our eyes and imagination for Belgrade, thanks.
Best, James and Kim
Damn we just love reading your comments guys - you genuinely really watch, appreciate and understand what we put out. Means a lot. Thanks
You cannot see Serbia for real without a local to show you. And just seeing Belgrade isn't enough.
Agree. We spent 5 weeks in Serbia and saw a lot more when we hired a car, this was just one day
many thanks for such great video of Belgrade friends.......pleasse come back
Heeey thank you for visiting our country I'm glad you enjoyed! :) We expect you back someday after this whole pandemic is over.
You got my respect especially after you said "it's not our vibe" for the splavs :D Not my vibe either, not a vibe of most classy people here (not saying that everyone going there is trashy, of course, but definitely not the best place to visit if you don't want to see a lot of drunk primitive people)
You got a subscribe :)
Keep being such cheerful and fun loving people! :)
Thanks for the awesome comment! Loved our time there
@@DanegerAndStacey You are welcome! Thank you and stay safe! :)
For those who do love the hustle and bustle of night life, the rafts (splavovi) are a must.
My favorite is povetarac which plays 80s/90s/DnB/Rap... Depending on the night. I love when a great tune comes up and you don't even have to jump because the raft (well, decommissioned vessel) jumps in the rhythm of the beat for you hahah. Best dancefloor experience
@@squid11160 well, I personally am not a big fan of splavovi and party like life, but hey, to each is own. I just think that the real beauty of Serbia is in ither things. Well, again, to each his own :)
you guys seemed very much surprised :) in a good way.
I am glad you liked it here. Serbia is a nice place to visit, but living here... Not so much. Anyway, do drop by again. Cheerz!
I'm from Serbia and I'm so glad you enjoyed our country :D It's very pretty and well maintained for it being destructed multiple times I''d say.
Thanks for visiting my country! ❤ Your videos kept me inspired to work hard and get to live my dreams. Now I started my own company and my youtube channel. Hope to meet you in my travels!
Best of luck! Thanks so much! 👍🏼
I highly enjoyed this 😍😍😍😍
Respect to UK from Serbia 🇷🇸❤🇬🇧
We're from NZ, but respect back at ya 🤙🏼
