Thank you , thank you very much Dr. Brenner for this very useful information. This has helped me a lot and I can now take my prescribed hormones post hysterectomy without worrying.

So glad I found this… I had a complete hysterectomy and take only oestrogen, I m holding extra weight and no matter what I do I can’t lose it. I want to start taking progesterone again and hope my GP agrees. I still have a few boxes of progesterone from before my surgery so I’m actually going to start today.

@@susiejones2540 Hello, thanks for asking. I put off starting as I want to be sure about the dose… Apparently, I shouldn’t need as much as someone with a womb but I’m not sure what that looks like. Whether it should be every other day, a few times a week or a two week on, two week off program to mimic a natural cycle. I’m hoping to start very soon but I’m a bit lost with it all.

Thank you so much… I have had conflicting information from health professionals regarding hysterectomy progesterone replacement for myself

We know it's hard to parse out information regarding hormone care! There are a lot of misconceptions out there and not every provider has the same tools in their toolbox.

    Dr. Brenner,
Thank you for discussing the topic of progesterone. It clarified my confusion on the disagreement among doctors.
I have a question and will appreciate your perspective. What are the dosage differences on hormones (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone) between before hysterectomy and after hysterectomy for a 59 yr old woman? I heard some provider say dose more, some say use less.
    Thank you.

Hi Leanna! I would watch Dr. Brenner's in depth discussion regarding bio-identical hormone therapy. She touches on the use of estrogen and progesterone. ruclips.net/video/siy6soZu3Ak/видео.html

I am really worried I started bleeding a lot in my vagina. I did the same thing when I went to menopause but I went to the doctor that gave me bio denticle progesterone in within three days it stopped. He said the estrogen was making my endometrium small dick and it could’ve even been diet that made me more estrogen dominant because I used to be one of those that believe that so he was good for you and Acient estrogen, anyway I quit all that but now it’s 70 years old it’s happening again but this doctors wanting to. I don’t know what he’s wanting to do but this medicine he has me on it. I’m afraid it’s gonna give me breast cancer. It causes migraine headaches I’m not sleeping more than two hours at a time, I feel like I’m going to menopause again because I wake up soaking wet every two hours then I have no energy of course but the medicine he has me on is called MEGESTROL acetate and he was giving me the syrup at first but my blood sugar kept going up like to 180 and sometimes 200 now my blood sugar is normal. My A1c was 4.7 before he put me on this medicine, and when I go to the doctor, my blood pressure is sky high. I can feel it. My face is flushed and red in my ears. I feel like I’m dying. I felt better when I was losing blood clots I was in no pain or anything now I feel like I’m in labor every day And I’m going to menopause all over again. I asked him if I could take bio identical progesterone does. If you do research on this medicine it’s scary and I went to the scientific papers. I didn’t just Google it but it is made for people that have no appetite because of cancer or bulimic or HIV or whatever them other things are in I guess some people when they’re going to chemo don’t have an appetite but I have an appetite and I’m already 30 pounds overweight but now since I gained the other 25 or 35 more pounds I can’t get my blood sugar down can’t sleep and I have cataracts. I was supposed to get surgery but then this happened and now I can’t hardly see it all since I’ve been on this medicine I don’t know what it is, but I know it’s not progesterone, and why do they use it for so many different things I mean I was diagnosed with type two diabetes but I got it under control and it’s been 4.7 since 2018 I just got really serious about my diet and I haven’t had problems with it till this medicine and I’m worried about getting blood clots in my legs because something happened to my legs in my little capillaries in one of my legs have been busting open in some type of gooey stuff comes out. I don’t know what it is but it happened when I start taking this medicine and I’ve been having pains in my feels like my arteries in my legs or something if we got arteries there I just felt like I don’t know if I can make it very much longer. I’m afraid to quit taking the medicine but then I’m afraid to keep taking it, I hope you can give me your opinion on this stuff I’m taking because I feel like this ordering me some progesterone cream
