I think Steel Panther is fantastic. I grew up listening to all the hair metal and still have a place in my heart for those classics. Steel panther is a great tribute to that music that never should have been taking itself too seriously. Nice one Justin. You summed it up well.
I have to admit, this almost brought a nostalgic tear to my eye. It was a helluva great time to be on the brink of adulthood. I had more fun than was legal and I wouldn't trade it for anything. The friends I had then are still my friends now. Glorious times. 🤗🤩🥰

Good comedians make you laugh, but the great ones can also make you cry. They got me on this one. Probably the best written song from Panther thus far. The comedy and silly songs are great, but this one is on another level as far as nostalgia and capturing that magical feeling of the 80's that you can only know if you were there.
I agree possibly lyrically and thematically their best song thus far and the most deep and meaningful. But musically, I think they have much more better written songs.

As much as I like Steel panther I must say that 1986 was THE year for me . Master of puppets, Peace sells, Pleasure to kill and Reign in blood to name a few. If you lived in the 80's the range of music you had to choose from was phenomenal.
Steel panther has always been a fun listen for me every now and then, but I thought this song took their songwriting to a different depth. Awesome and emotional 🤘
Steel Panther nailed the time on the head. My 1987? Dokken, Def Leppard, Poison, Ratt, Great White, White Lion, Motley Crue blasting on 11 thru the Alpine in my Camaro Z28. Spuds McKenzie, girls laying in the sun for hours with suntan lotion (NOT BLOCK) on. Oh yeah, I saw the Crue in 1987. They were awesome. They had this opening band none of my friends or me had ever heard of. They were called Guns N Roses. Yeah, 1987. Take me back & just leave me there permanently. 🤘
I graduated high school in 1987!! And nothing will ever be the same....great vid Justin! I was also fortunate to see SP at the Whisky a couple years back...never laughed so hard at a rock show.
I have been lucky enough to see the Darkness and Steel Panther in my lifetime, got on stage with SP and was next to Justin when he went off the balcony - bucket list checked for this gal;)
I have seen Satchel and Michael Starr ( Ralph Saenz) play in a Van Halen tribute band "Atomic Punks" in early 2000s and they were amazing. They actually opened me up to a lot of VH's deeper tracks and made me a big VH fan. I saw Van Halen at the US festival and truth be told, Atomic Punks were a100000 times better performance. A couple years after I saw Atomic Punks, I was rehearsing with my band in a San Fernando studio and I bumped into Ralph and had a chat with him. Steel Panther was rehearsing right next to us and they sounded so awesome. Anyone who knows 80's metal will love this band because first and foremost, they are fantastic musicians, and second, they inject great humor without being insulting to the genre. Watching Michael Starr doing Ozzy impersonation is spot on and hilarious. They are awesome.

Yes it is bloody awesome! In 1987 I was 17 and in the final year of high school AND in a band! So I totally relate to this great song and its sentiment.
I'm going to see them for the first time in London next year. Really cannot wait. I was listening to them at the gym the other day and just couldn't help but laugh out loud. Great music in the late 80's just loved that era, so many gigs I went to.
You won't be disappointed. I just saw them a week ago for the 8th time in four different country That's dedication! And they're worth it. Satchel signed my Satchel signature model Charvel as well. Awesome dudes on and off stage.
A couple of years ago when Steel Panther use to play here almost every weekend I was talking to Russ/Satchel after the show. He asked me who I thought they should tour with. I told him the Darkness. We then had a long conversation about you and your brothers melodic guitar solos. A bunch of cool dudes them Steel Panther guys are.
Steel Panther has taken me out of a lot of dark times and break ups. Most of my ex's hated them so whenever we break up, they are the first band that I run to, to cheer me up.
I was 23 in 87, up til then I had been a punk. In the mid 80s I started getting into the London Glam/punk/metal scene and then onto the American metal stuff. Many of my friends laughed and thought me a fool! I still love all these genres.
I showed Steel Panther to all the dudes in my platoon back in the Marine Corps. We worked in a shop and blasted Panther all the time. (Shoutout Motor T)
Im in the class of 87. It was special then. Somehow you knew it as it was happening. And that special era continues to resonate today. Love the laughter you bring in the morning thank you it could be the difference of a good day or a bad day but if you start with a laugh most likely it is going to be a good day ✌
The PMRC would of loved Steel Panther!! Thanks for introducing me to this. It's sad that we live in a world, where far too many people take themselves seriously.
one of my best memories of '87 was down the front at Donnington with Bonjovi on stage and during the encore, Bruce Dickinson got up with Dee Snyder to sing travellin' man. Bruce unfamiliar with the lyrics had a song sheet. About the third chorus, he chucked the paper and announced that IRON MAIDEN is going to be here in 1988. The place erupted and got the biggest cheer of the day. fucking amazing.
I listened to Steel Panther aggressively on repeat for the 8 years of secondary school and I love all the chaos and comedy of it, but more than anything every tune slaps. Also can't believe that was you on party all day, I did think at the time why does this bit sound so regionally English 🤣
For being a comedy metal band, that song with all the little jokes in it still managed to really gut check me thinking about how life was in the 80's and the early 90's... especially after the halfway point of the song... the line about Dave and Eddie getting back together and knowing that can't happen now along with the final two lines of the song really just hit me like a truck. Not just for memories, but the realization of just how much time has passed and how we're all getting older... It somehow became a real eye opener that my youth is long behind me now and I'm staring down middle age. Guess this was the start of my mid-life crisis lol.
Steel Panther is the shit, and they’re awesome people. Have had the luxury of gigging alongside them 5 times now… and every show we’ve played with them has been a blast. They’re standup dudes and great professionals 🙏🏼

Great video, spot on with your analysis, Love Steel Panther and loved 1987, what a year to be a 17yo - topped off with G'n'R/Faster Pussycat playing Rock City.
I knéw when I saw your outfit it had to be about Steel Panther😂missed out on them unfortunately last year when they were in The Netherlands. Great musicians and comedians
Steel panther definitely put on a great live show. They are hilarious live and on recording. That’s on top of the amazing musicianship. Satchel is a monster.
Great video and fantastic song! I would love to see you have a chat with Satchel about your favourite guitar riffs and licks some time. Make it happen please Mr Hawkins!
Turn the brightness down on your screen. It will help. I have some issues with my eyes and having observing you in these vids for the last year or more I wondered if you have similar issues with yours. Try turning the brightness down on all your screens, maybe it will help? This band is awesome, the lyrics are awesome. The incidental music cracked me up. WOOOOAAAH The way your voice cuts through everything else in that bit with Steel Panther is amazing, there's a LOT going on and we can hear specifically you so clearly! Lovely! This is very ..hmmm country hair? Is that a thing? That's the vibes I'm getting! Nice one indeed Much love to you Mr. Hawkins ♡
Steel Panther fucking rules they put in work and are brilliant and clever and they deserve all the praise seen them live it was incredible and one of the best shows I’ve seen
If they don't watch out, these guys are gonna singlehandedly bring back the power ballad and then we're all fooked. Dug these guys (well, the main two) since way back in their Atomic Punks days, when they kept the spirit of Diamond Dave-era Halen alive with a tribute that was both respectfully AND playfully tongue-in-cheek, which is what made the Dave-era VH so special. With Panther, sometimes, you get the feeling they're coasting a bit on the easy jokes, but then they lay down a track like this and prove they were really there by providing the sort of emotional depth that touches anyone whose hormones were calling the shots back then. Does it hold up to repeat listens? Only time will tell.
I love steel panther. Seen them a few times over the year's. Yeah, 87 was fantastic. That's the year I got into the, "hair metal" scene. Def leppard, whitesnake, bon Jovi and motley crue all had great albums out at that time.
I really enjoyed this track when I watched the video a couple of days ago. The nostalgia is real, and they were smart to tap into it for inspiration. From what I have seen, they are excellent musicians.
'Hysteria' dropped in 87, the follow up to the massively successful 'Pyromania'. 7 singles off 'Hysteria' reached Billboard with 'Love Bites' hitting number one. 'Hysteria' arguably was - along with Van Halen 'the' biggest record of that era, the genius Steve Clark's magical live performances, his writing/creating of 90% of their lyrics and actual music has enabled Leppard to tour off what he left the band, 'Mutt' Lange's masterpiece this record was. Both 'Hysteria/Pyromania' have been certified Diamond in the US. 25+ million units sold for 'Pyro/Hysteria' each, those are staggering numbers - only Van Halen could match Leppard. 'Hysteria' was arguably 'the' record that could never be bested, it's layered guitar parts and although many fans hated it as it was very different to Leppard's early records that 'Mutt' also produced, a heavier sound - 'Hysteria' still has some hard rock kick arse songs. Like 'Never Mind The Bollocks' - 'Hysteria/Pyromania' remain brilliant records that defined the best decade ever, the 80's.

Love this band, love this song, love the sentiment. And live, they are faultless.
One of my favorite bands right there can’t wait for their new album! Great video!
I look forward to reading this channel’s video descriptions.
Wow. Absolutely no words! Keep rockin Justin. Love ur vids. All the best to yourself and the rest of the band 🤘🤘
I love steel panther, that’s a great track! They’re really incredible musicians and a funny band with great songs.
Guess this was the start of my mid-life crisis lol.
dave and eddie did get back together, where have you been?
@@tonybroken6353 okay, slow down, go back and read it again. At a medium pace...
Steel Panther is the shit, and they’re awesome people. Have had the luxury of gigging alongside them 5 times now… and every show we’ve played with them has been a blast. They’re standup dudes and great professionals 🙏🏼
I love you, Justin. Happy holidays. ❤

Great review, I see Steel Panther everytime they come to town.
This will be my third time seeing these brilliant guys! Never cease to amaze me with their shows!
Hi people! I just want to thank Justin and the PRRRoduceRRR (☺️) for the great work on this channel and the brilliant insights you give us. I don't know anything about music but still enjoy every video and I always learn something 👏👏👏👏💜💜💜
💋
Thanks so much Alejandra, that's really kind of you :)
The most humble guys in rock and roll! Got backstage at the dressingroom and at the afterparty one time, with Lexxie and Stixx. Good memories :)
I took a friend, who's into "serious" modern heavy metal, to a Panther show. His expectations weren't high, but he said it was one of the best concerts he'd ever been to.
2👍👍thxs for riding again
From AZ
Seem them three times, heading for the fourth in May. I can’t wait!
Nice one indeed
Much love to you Mr. Hawkins ♡
SP is awesome. They’re fun, and they interact with their audience, marvelously!
So interactive that they will let you come up on stage and jam with them. NOBODY else does that. Eddie Trunk can suck one
Thanks!
Thanks Brandon!
In 84 I discovered Gary Moore....In 87 I graduated High School....Both years have a place in my heart!!
Haven’t listened to Steel Panther in few years but I’m liking this one so far!
I love steel panther. Seen them a few times over the year's.
Yeah, 87 was fantastic. That's the year I got into the, "hair metal" scene.
Def leppard, whitesnake, bon Jovi and motley crue all had great albums out at that time.
Steel Panther are Epic! 1987, a great year and an even better song! :) Can't wait to see them next May!!
I really enjoyed this track when I watched the video a couple of days ago. The nostalgia is real, and they were smart to tap into it for inspiration. From what I have seen, they are excellent musicians.
Yes that's the great thing about the band is the humure in the lyrics, and indeed amazing guitarist
