I'm moving out in the fall and I just did a huuuuuge kitchen haul for my new place! I got absolutely everything I needed for my kitchen (and a little more). I had read tons of lists prior and watched quite a few youtube videos on things to buy when you move out and I came up with a list of all of these items. The only thing I haven't purchased yet it a Kitchen Aid hand mixer (I want the white one). I also desperately want a bar cart and stuff for it, but that's a want and not a need so that'll come later!

Our American society still has Bridal showers for Brides to be. But times have changed and this isn't the 1950's, 60's, or 70's anymore. Women back then waited to move out of their parents house until they found mister right, got married, and then moved in with their husband in their own house or apartment. Because young women back then didn't work and were housewives, celebratory parties like Bridal showers were the traditional thing to do to help a young woman have the things she would need for her new home. Today's women are very different. We are going to college, getting professional jobs, getting married, and having children later in life. But we are still young and struggling with money to get by and we don't have the money to buy all this nice household items for our first apartment or house. It would be nice if our American society would treat us young single independent women who are living on our own in our first apartment the same way they treat brides to be. Why can't our friends and family throw us a first apartment housewarming shower party? Why can't our society change with the times? Buying all this stuff for our first apartment shouldn't have to fall on our own shoulders or our parents shoulders. Why can't our friends and family share the burden and help a young newly independent women out?!
