I am 73 retired professional advertising photographer, I’ve own printer since they were invented, I really appreciate this. It saves me a lot of money and grief. I enjoy doing this type of work. Thank you, sir. I have a new fan.
you literally saved me 400 bucks by doing this video...my printer was printing blank pages...tried everything until i saw this video, ordered the cleaner, followed the steps and BOOM ! all works! thankyou!
Hello Brandon, I don't know if you still read comments since this video was done 4 years ago. I have had an Epson ET4760 for 3.3 years. I love the printer and use it often. I had 200 flyers and 100 pamphlets to print for a ministry even last Sunday. When I attempted to print them the colors were off. When I did the print nozzle check BCM were fine, but there was no yellow. I went on RUclips to fix the problem I watched a lot of videos but yours was the best. I ordered the BP Printhead Cleaning Kit. Of course It did not come in time for me to print the flyers/pamphlet so I "farmed them out" to other. Today was the first chance I had to do the cleaning. As you demonstrated, it was very easy. I appreciated your step-by-step instructions. I did everything exactly as you demonstrated and it went "smooth as silk". With the exception of one problem. The white paper under the print head got wet and fell apart. I had paper towels on the right side which got soaked, as your did. I had a Sham Wow cloth to soak up excess. Now I am in the 24 hour drying time. My concern is the wet white paper underneath that is falling apart from the liquid. Do I need to replace this or leave it as is? Will my printer work when all is dry? Thank you.
These instructions worked brilliantly. It resolved the issue of Cyan and Yellow not printing. The cost of the supplies from the links below was around $50. THANK YOU!
This worked brilliantly. Thank you for your very clear instruction. One point: the end of the video- instructions for the self cleaning component was a little rushed. I figured it out but barely. You need LOTS of paper towel and you should mention don't be shy moving the printing head over the paper towel. Thank you again! Fantastic!
Thank you for the video. I finished all the instructions. I would like to add that once I finished flushing each of the tanks I had to order the Epson T04D100 Ink Maintenance Box $15 at Staples. Have to wait to see what the print output looks like. I also used Q-tips to remove any liquid residue around the print valves before re-installing the tanks. In addition as a precaution I would recommend purchasing a pair of goggles and plastic shield for your face in the event the cleaning liquid somehow splashes. Bit of advice to everyone is to hold the tube securely to whatever tank your flushing while pushing the liquid from syringe. Pushing the liquid through from the syringe does require some effort. Be careful. The last thing is the phillips head screwdriver from the suggested parts list is too large. I had a Belkin dual screwdriver (flat and phillips head) that worked. Thank you again for the video.
Phew - it worked! After our printer (well my wife's printer) that she had sitting in storage for 3 years while we went off to Texas, she says to me after returning to Canada, "here, have my good ET-4750"! I tried printing - but only blank pages came out! Not even a drop of black ink. So I found this video. Made sense. Ordered right away from Amazon, and the next day had the solution. But I don't remember hearing in the video (I could be wrong) that warming the solution could help. One of the nozzle head was totally dried up and so I push very hot water and it unblocked it. Then like the instructions said on the box, I needed to wait 24 hours before re-plugging the printer and doing all the maintenance test multiple times. It's now printing - saving at least $600 for another compatible Epson! Thank you very much!
I ordered the cleaner and followed your instructions for my ET 2760, and now the Magenta is finally working again! It was hard at first to push the solution through, but I kept pushing slow and steady until the 15ml was dispensed. Thank you!!
Thanks for this video. I appreciate the detailed, clear and confidence boosting instructions in your video. I often lack confidence in dealing with technology issues, and your strong encouraging words, saying that this is an easy fix, helped encourage me to take care of the problem myself. I decided to try the deep clean FIRST, and that completely fixed my color printing problem on my ET-4760 printer. The deep clean, which took about 10 minutes resolved my printing problem. As soon as the deep clean was complete, I was able to print in color immediately after the 10 minute deep clean. These are the steps I followed for the deep clean Step 1: TURN OFF THE Product Step 2: Visually check the ink levels and make sure each ink tank is at least one-third full. ****Caution:*****If you run a Power Cleaning when the ink levels are low, you may damage the product. Step 3: Press and hold the power button and the help button AT THE SAME TIME until the Power Cleaning screen appears on the LCD screen. Then I followed the on screen prompts....and completed the power clean!!! DEEP CLEAN was painless, effortless, and EASY! The printer did all the work and I am back to loving my printer again!
I'll be! This actually worked on my ET-4760. I am impressed. Thanks for the solution kit and the precise instructions. I would like to point out that the paper in the paper path got soaked and then jammed up when I turned it back on. Need to have some sort of plastic sheet to slide under the head along with the paper towels to prevent that. Beyond that this worked perfectly and saved me $500 for a new printer. Thank you!
Thanks for this video. I have an ecotank. I was able to run the nozzle cleaning program multiple times. It took six times. But it finally came through. This information is very useful. Thanks again. I'll know what to do when the printer can't clean itself
Today is the day after Thanksgiving 2023. This video helped me power clean my jets. I didn't have to clean jets with the product but the power clean did the job. Thank you.
I'm glad I came across this vid. I haven't done it yet, but this seems like a great solution. Apart from that, having this problem makes me feel regretful about buying this printer. This is going to be a recurrent issue.
this was perfect!!! thank you !!!, now after getting pissed for over a month , I finally decided to look up the problem and found your vid. It works perfectly. you just saved me from throwing another printer, tv, tablet off my cliff!!LOL, really- THANK YOU
Thank you so much for the instructions of the print-head cleaning video. This was truly very well done and easy to follow. One suggestion: the one most IMPORTANT thing that wasn't in the Epson instructions is that the Maintenance Box in the back of the printer also needs to be replaced AFTER the full cleaning is done. If you do another one of these videos, can you please mention that to others? Thanks again and regards.
Blank pages from my Epson ET 4760 before this kit & video - now, we're back in business! Thank you for the product recommendation and the step-by-step video. BTW, I broke one of the clips on the printer head cover - thank goodness it didn't make a difference. 😮💨
Very grateful for this fix for my ET-4750! Although I will say, it doesn’t seem to have been totally necessary to buy new ink to have on hand. Upon initiating the Power Head Cleaning, the printer said that the tanks only needed to be one-third of the way full. The Best Printer’s cleaning kit was a lifesaver though!
I cleaned my printer heads with what you suggested to buy. I wasn't aware that you had to run the power clean after and I'm just about out of ink in black but low in other colors. Will it hurt the printer if I wait to get ink tomorrow? Thank you so much for this video. I had to change my Maintenace box already and thought I had to replace the heads too. I'm happy that it is as simple as just cleaning them. Thought my printer was going to be another expense. I have two autistic boys and I need to print lots of things for my records. Thanks.
Thanks for this - very helpful....you might want to note that in addition to making sure you have plenty of ink at the end - you might want to check that the maintenance box is not full - because if it is - you can not do the power clean. I am ordering one - but it just means another day before I can print.
Great video. One thing I wish you would have mentioned is if the unit still wont print all colors and needs power-cleaned you'll need to replace the maintenance tank.
Great video! Do you have any advice for doing the same for en ET-7750? The cartridges are different so can't get them out the same way you did. Cheers!
Thank you for this video. I have followed all the steps and my Yellow appeared again! Question: the instructions on cleaner kit says to turn off the printer and not turn back on for 24 hours to ensure drying. I didn't do that because I was so anxious to see if it worked. Do you suggest doing this step, though? Thank you, thank you!
I have an ET-4700. I don’t think the ink reservoirs are filling. I have the bottles in correctly but I can’t see any of the ink colors through the little windows in the front. How do I make sure the ink is even in there? If ink is not getting in how do I clean the nozzles so the ink goes in? After that, how do I get the top of the printer off? In the video you just lift up but the 4700 doesn’t do that. Thank you! -Emily.
Note: If you open your printer and find that one of the small ink cartridges is empty, then you do NOT have a clogged print head. Instead you have a clogged ink tank! Ink is not being delivered from the tank to the cartridge. To fix it, put on your gloves, then remove the feed hose from the top of the cartridge. Make sure the syringe plunger is all the way down, so there is no open space in the syringe, then put the tip of the syringe into the hose from the tank. Pull gently on the syringe plunger, drawing ink from the tank into the hose. (If ink still does not flow, then you have a bigger problem) Then remove the syringe, empty any ink into a paper towel, and reconnect the hose to the cartridge. Reassemble the printer and run a power cleaning (it's the only way to completely refill the empty cartridge). The printer should now print correctly.
Hi Jim, I just got my printer ET-3760, THANK YOU, I have now, with your help figured out, INK TANK is clogged. Ive had printer, converted to sublimation ink, I took tube off at cartridge, used syringe and pulled ink out, none has ever made it to cartridge, issue is, Power cleaning, it says i need to replace my maintenance cartridge, WHY? Its brand new.. Im so upset with Epson.. IF I can get ink tank to clean up, what else can I do besides power clean?
@@carolnewton3741 I'm afraid you've exhausted my knowledge on the subject. I put everything I know into the message above. For mine, that was all that was needed. I see a video to the right about replacing the maintenance box - maybe that will help you. Good luck!
Thank you so much for this tip. My magenta cartridge, which is the one that does not print, has very little ink in it, but the tank is 80% full. I want to make sure I understand that disconnecting the hose from the cartridge, inserting a fully depressed syringe into the hose, and pulling the syringe plunger out will, in effect, pull ink from the clogged ink tank into the syringe. If this is correct, do I need to flush the print head first AND pull the ink from the tank? Or do I just skip straight to your instructions? I'm sure my problem is that my printer sat for several months without being used. If anyone has any suggestions for preventing clogs during extended periods of disuse, I would appreciate it.
@@ghwallace9 No, there is no reason to run a cleaning cycle first. It would just waste ink, and the clogged tank would remain clogged. Just follow the directions that I posted, then (as my directions state) run a power cleaning after you have unclogged the tank so that all of the cartridges are properly filled.
@@jimgilliland1722 Color me happy. Even though I didn't have the cleaning kit, I made do with a medical syringe to follow your instructions to unclog the tank. Bingo! Thank you SO much for adding the tip about the clogged ink tank. Do you have any thoughts on what I might do the next time my ET-4760 is left idle for an extended period of time. The power cleaning DOES use a significant amount of ink. Thank you again!
Nice video, haven't tried it yet, but got a question. If you need multiple cleanings of each printer head, it doesn't seem like one bottle of the cleaning kit will be enough. The link says that it is only a 100 ml bottle. Unless I misunderstood, that is only enough for 5 cleanings. Did I misunderstand? I'm pretty sure that all 4 of my heads are pretty badly clogged and I don't think a single 20 ml cleaning of each head will be enough.
2-17-23. The window for ink level is opaque and I couldn’t see level of black ink. It looks like it’s full. Any way to clean out the window?? The colors are working but rarely use colors. Thanks. Great you tube. I’ll order the flushing kit
I had the same problem. I refilled my tank. And seen when it filled up all the color, then in a couple of minutes I can't see the colors. This is so stranged..
Great video! My Epson ET-4760 has been printing lines when printing in color. I tried ordering the Cleaning Kit on Amazon but it appears to be out of stock until mid-late November. My Epson ET-4760 is at my home in MA but I'm leaving for Florida on October 30. Any chance there's another source to get the Cleaning Kit any sooner?
Hello, I ordered the clining kit. I opened the printer and saw the cartige almost empty, with a syringe I took the cartige out so I could suction the rest if the ink and my aim was to use that suction effort to be able to fill up the cartige with the black ink but it did not work, it remaines dry, so I believe I will have to use the clining solution there too.
@@BestPrinters I don't see anyway to open this. I ordered your cleaning liquid and recieved it yesterday. Now I have no way to use it. Any suggestions?
I bought the Best Printers Cleaning Kit and just used and ran my power clean. So far the print looks much improved. However, the printer jams up when trying to print double-sided now. Is there a way to perform maintenance on the print rollers or can I replace the rollers? Thank you for your very informative video. Much appreciated!
My printer wasn't printing Magenta or Cyan. I watched this video and did the Power Cleaning task. That fixed my printer without having to do cleaning with the solution kit.
Thanks! Great tutorial. I am up and running. Question: When I hold the power and ? button power wash does not work. Says I have to create an account for $9.99 monthly. Is that accurate or am I doing it wrong?
That is strange, but I'm not surprised a lot of the major companies are trying to sell subscriptions. You may be able to bypass this message by hooking up your printer to a PC and running a power cleaning from there.
I've done every step recommended by Epson and have purchased this cleaning kit and used it twice. I've tried printing purge files. What can I do without buying a new printer?
@@BestPrinters I have repeated this process over and over. I watched the other video as well. I've used an entire bottle of cleaning solution, replaced the maintenance box and replaced the sub dye and still have clogs in the black. I don't know what to do next.
I did.not go through the other post. Forgive me if answered When you are doing a Power cleaning where does the excess ink go. I know about the pads that ultimately get washed .and reset msg. The auxiliary catch tank; is that blk or all colors. Once the auxiliary bottle is put in does this bypass error msg forever? Thx
Hello I am about to perform this procedure for my blue ink which SUDDENLY no longer prints even though my Epson ET 3760 is barely ten months old and has been printing normally at least several times per week using all four colors since new. So I have questions, hopefully you or the group here can respond . . . 1) Only the blue ink failed. The others print normally. So as long as I have the printed partially disassembled as you instructed, would it be worthwhile and reasonable to clean all four print heads as described in the video? 2) After injecting the cleaning fluid as shown, would it be helpful to then fill the syringe with air and blow that through to speed drying of the cleaning solution? 3) What would you say to those who have commented both here and on your Amazon printhead cleaning kit page, when they describe a lack of success after undertaking the procedure presented here? Thank you
Hi I have addressed your questions below. 1. Focus on cleaning the color or colors that are currently having issues. 2. After injecting cleanig fluid and going through the whole process, you will need to run a power cleaning. 3. As for the folks that didnt have success with my product. There are many scenarios where the printer is not fixable ( ie. the printhead is permanently clogged). Or the printhead required multiple cleanings and the user failed to continue and gave up. I hope this helps!
Super clear instructions, thank you. I think I may still end up with a problem because I don't seem to be able to fill the tanks. I have the proper Epson ink to put in with their individually shaped attachments so I can't mistake which supply I'm putting in but when I invert the ink it just doesn't flow into the tanks. If I clean the tubes through would that get rid of a possible airlock?
Only my black ink was not printing. I purchased the cleaner you suggested and Followed your video. I only used 5 ml of the cleaner. Put everything back together and it now says I have a scanner error that I not Epson can fix. Wish I would have just done a power clean.
My epson 2720 is not printing nothing at all used printed the letter now is nothing is blank print I put new sublimation and nothing what I can do. Thank you so much for any help
I have the same question since the ET-4700 doesn't open the same way to get to the print head. The top of the printer doesn't hinge open so the only access point to the print head and cartridges is behind the control panel and you can't do much through that little window. I haven't found another way to open it all up like in the video.
I have this problem now. I think I will just give up and buy a different printer altogether. It's only just over a year old and the second printer to have this problem. So annoying!
This video was very helpful and the steps were easy to follow, but my ET-2760 is still not printing! I did all the steps including the power clean and the nozzle check was blank, no colours including black. My printer has been sitting inactive for a long time and there was a few weeks gap between cleaning it and doing the power clean because i was waiting on ink. Is there anything else I can do to fix this?
also, i just tried to printer a document, and it had very faint magneta lines, a little small of text i could read (very faint and in magneta) and then also some ink blots (again magneta). do you have any tips for how to fix this?
I have ordered your cleaner. My problem is that I am unable to fill the ink tanks. I read that there is a chip that reads the bottle and type of ink. It seems the chip gets stained with ink. So I am trying to clean this area. I would appreciate knowing why I am unable to refill tanks with ink.
The nozzle check only printed the blue lines. I flushed the black, cyan, magenta and yellow. the paper towel had ink from the black and cyan but the other too is just clear liquid. The ink tanks are full. I haven't put everything back yet to test. I wanted to see if this is normal? before I reassemble and do the nozzle check again.
I bought your cleaning kit and followed the isntructions. It worked like a charm, but about 3 days later it was clogged again. Is it common that it needs to be done more than once? I was thinking maybe the problem was inside my ink tanks, but there's no access in there. What do you recommend? Also, my printer stopped doing 2-sided printing. It basically says it's jammed, but I can easily feed out the paper using an arrow, so I don't think it's really clogged. Is there any help for that? Also won't. pull in the card stock that I've used for a couple of years. I'm hoping I don't have to buy a new printer.
What if you can't get the cleaning solution through one of the ink print head valves - YMC worked just fine but with the black I can't get the solution through the little nozzel.
What did you place under the printer heads before injecting the cleaner and how did you clean up the mess left behind afterwards? It looked pretty messy.

Do you suggest doing this step, though? Thank you, thank you!
Excellent instructional video. Thanks to you I have a free printer that a client gave up on.
You're welcome!
Thank you very much for your video. This really helped me a lot just fix my 4760. God bless you more
Thank you I will take the blessings from God!
Had to order a maintenance kit in order to run the power clean 😢. Should be here Friday.. wish me luck 😊
You got this!
Thank you for the video, just cleaned my printer. Super easy with your instructions.
Glad it helped
How do you open the printer to get to the heads? I have a ET-4700
Did you figure it out
I have an ET-4700.
I purchase the et-4700 . Can you show the world how to collate with this printer? Thanks for sharing
Message me on Amazon.
2-17-23. The window for ink level is opaque and I couldn’t see level of black ink. It looks like it’s full. Any way to clean out the window?? The colors are working but rarely use colors. Thanks. Great you tube. I’ll order the flushing kit
Great! I am not sure how you would clean the window honestly, if you mean from the inside.
I had the same problem. I refilled my tank. And seen when it filled up all the color, then in a couple of minutes I can't see the colors. This is so stranged..
Too.bad customer service in general is nonexistent nowadays
Worked perfectly. Thank you.
You're welcome!
Excelente gracias 👌
De nada!
how do you get full access to the print head under the scanner? you jumped past how you got it open
If you browse my channel, you can look up similar printer, models, and those videos will most likely have that part that I missed in this video.
just wondering how did you get the paper out before finishing up with the power clean?
With the rear paper panel.
How can I remove the ink on an epson et 4670 and replace with sublimation ink?
Do the same & after you flush it clean add your sublimation ink . I have an epson et 2720
My apologies. We’re currently having issues with our distribution. We should be back up next week. Please check back then.
Thanks!
Yes this kit works best with pushing solution through, instead of using a suction method.
I have a ET 4700 and I can't seem to open the top. It has a copier and I can't get it open. Can you explain to me how to get inside please?
You may have to unscrew the top, to have access.
@@BestPrinters I don't see anyway to open this. I ordered your cleaning liquid and recieved it yesterday. Now I have no way to use it. Any suggestions?
Thank you! Totally worked and was easy. I lost the screw to the print cage. Any thoughts on a replacement?
Thats a tought one, I would try a small screw replacement kit, here, amzn.to/3GIibGi
You can manually clean the rollers but replacing them would be very difficult. I am glad your print quality is improving though.
Does this work on a printer you converted to sublimation as well?
My printer wasn't printing Magenta or Cyan. I watched this video and did the Power Cleaning task. That fixed my printer without having to do cleaning with the solution kit.
Great!
Simply repeat the process, you can also watch the video I have on the 4850 model. There is some update info on that video.
@@BestPrinters I have repeated this process over and over. I watched the other video as well. I've used an entire bottle of cleaning solution, replaced the maintenance box and replaced the sub dye and still have clogs in the black. I don't know what to do next.
I did.not go through the other post. Forgive me if answered
When you are doing a Power cleaning where does the excess ink go. I know about the pads that ultimately get washed .and reset msg. The auxiliary catch tank; is that blk or all colors. Once the auxiliary bottle is put in does this bypass error msg forever? Thx
Do you have a video on how to clean the Epson ET 16650? Heeeelp!
This is frustrating bc my epson 4700 doesn't have options you're showing so let me know when you do..
ok
That work so well
Glad to hear it!
Horray, this worked great!! Thank you so much!!
Great to hear!
Hello I did what you showed but now its telling me to replace the maintenance box where do I get that or is there a way to clean it
You can search for one using the links in the video description.
You should be able to clean the tubes with no issue.
@@BestPrinters I have cleaned the tubes and still can't get the tanks to fill with ink. I am using the Epson bottles and yet still nothing happens.
Only my black ink was not printing. I purchased the cleaner you suggested and Followed your video. I only used 5 ml of the cleaner. Put everything back together and it now says I have a scanner error that I not Epson can fix. Wish I would have just done a power clean.
Did you wait 24 hours before powering on the printer. The instructions clearly stated that and the cleaning kit packaging.
Thank you, but now that i've done that, i can't do the Power Head Cleaning until I replace the Maintenance Box. Please help!
Same. Just ordered one on Amazon
@@jetspaz34 After you got the new one, did it work? I have to replace mine as well.
good video thanks
You're welcome
WORKS!
Awesome!
I have an Epson ET-4700 - the system looks the same but accessing the print head is different - any suggestions for accessing?
Thank you
What if a couple of the nozzle heads have a lot of resistance when pushing the cleaning solution
Warm up the cleaning solution and reapply.
Good video thank you!
You're welcome!
Does the link to the recommended ink work on the ET-4800?
This link is for the 4800 models, geni.us/3PftPi
Very instructional thks
Very welcome
My epson 2720 is not printing nothing at all used printed the letter now is nothing is blank print I put new sublimation and nothing what I can do. Thank you so much for any help
Yes you will need to use the best printers cleaning kit.
How would you do this process on an ET-4700 model?
Hi, it’s the same process.
I have the same question since the ET-4700 doesn't open the same way to get to the print head. The top of the printer doesn't hinge open so the only access point to the print head and cartridges is behind the control panel and you can't do much through that little window. I haven't found another way to open it all up like in the video.
@@lilymonster666 I’m having the same problem have you figured it out?
@@BestPrinters can you help out us here?
Can’t get into the print head. How do we open the top part?
How do I open the printer to get to the print nozzles on a ET4700?
That’s what I’m trying to figure out right now damn what a downfall about not having easy access pop opening this et4700
Did u figure it out?
No. I end up purchasing a smaller version of the same printer, ET2720.
Yes if you repeat the process and try using warmed up cleaning solution you should be able to get it to print.
It’s not taking the ink from the bottles. Could it be dry inside. I bought the cleaning kit and I cleaned out the heads
Will your kit work on an ET-2550?
Yes as long as you have access to the printhead carriage.
Thank you for reaching out, THE NEXT STEP is to run a power cleaning. It sounds like you are in the right direction so far.
I'm sorry to be a bother but I don't understand WHEN I'm supposed to do the power cleaning... before or after the complete flushing? Please advise 🙏
After the cleaning , I believe you hold the Power button and the question mark at the same time and then it’ll go into that mode
What if you can't get the cleaning solution through one of the ink print head valves - YMC worked just fine but with the black I can't get the solution through the little nozzel.
Would I use this same method if my black ink is spewing out too much ink?
It could potentially solve that, yes.
Can you help me fix the low ink error?
Have you tried filling up the ink tanks?
What did you place under the printer heads before injecting the cleaner and how did you clean up the mess left behind afterwards? It looked pretty messy.
Paper towel.
