Thorough as usual thanks for sharing your adventure!!
No problem. I'm happy to be sharing something that isn't just a repair for once!
Well done! Thanks for making this to show the entire set up... this will give a lot of people the confidence do it, too. Also, thanks for the shout-out. I hope we can meet up someday at an expo or something like that. Take care!
I'm sure one day we'll meet my friend! No problem on the shout out.
Great video Colt! Thanks for putting that together.
Thanks! Seeing that people enjoy it & find it helpful makes the extra effort worth it.
You have best videos in RUclips for LMTV..
Thank you. I will still try to make them better!
Absolutely fantastic video!
Thank you sir
Appreciate it & glad you found it helpful
Very nice job with this. Lots of great information.
Thank you. Feedback always makes the effort worth it. :)
Looking good!
Thanks!
Real good info.
Appreciate it
Nice looking good
Thank you!
That was great information
Glad you thought so!
Interesting video. Keep some Harbor Freight furniture blankets on your rig. Great for temp storing axles, working under truck, and they are cheap. Big oil mess after repair? No worries. Just toss and buy another.
I keep them in my Ford for that reason. When I have a bit more storage room on the LMTV, I probably will do that too. Helps here where I am with all the sharp rocks and/or sticker burs on the ground too!
👍👍
Thank you!
You didn't have to do anything with the steering wheel of the towed truck during the drive?
No. With the tow bar being connected to the frame, the steer wheels just follow.
NOw Lets DO IT UnDER! COMBAT StReSSS!
*RPG and 50 cals start firing from a L shaped Ambush*
Maybe if I was getting it from Houston, haha
could you have just removed the front 2 axles like the rear?
No because of the knuckle for the steering.
"Lick it and stick it" Based!
You know it friend
You shouldn't have to pull the drivelines. If you pull the axle shafts then nothing is connecting the wheels to the drivetrain, so there's no way those driveline are going to spin.
Front axles can't be taken out and will spin the driveline. That is why only the front drive shaft is removed and the rear is left in place after the rear axles are pulled.
Basado
Si!
Are there more than one different size toe bar? Towing with a big Volvo truck. Pulling a W900L Kenworth. What do you think? Kenworth in Va. Need to get it back to Texas.
Nice info, thanx, one question, do you have to do anything to secure the steering of the towed vehicle? Or is the steering wheel free? Thanx
It is free, so that it will tow like a cart.
Thanks I have to move truck. 😢
Burning it up I'm sorry.
How well was it on turns and then straightened back up?
Is how fast were you able to go? Thanks for any help.
I'm sure any vehicle can be ground towed similar but I'd have no idea. I can say it wasn't fun. Definitely have brakes.
Kenworth and Volvo both weigh about 17000 lbs. I think about removing power steering hoses may make steer easier?
That's not the same as this at all, I can't comment. These trucks were designed around being towed by each other.
I have a kenworth W 900.
That's in Hampton Virginia. I need to get it to Jacksonville Texas 1400 miles. Would you do it with a one ton Dodge if you had to.
Absolutely not.
@@CallMeColtLLC I was Drive the kenworth with air in the system with my buddy driving the Dooley Dodge brand new Dodge
@@apaulothegreat1581 Absolutely not. Nothing about that setup is proper or safe at all.
@CallMeColt™ ok thanks won't do it. 17,000lbs KW
Tractor only
@@CallMeColtLLC I really appreciate you being there for me. God-bless you and your family and happy life I'm not gonna do it I'll put it on an RGN trailer
