I have never seen anything like that. I wish I had gone to the garage when my dad passed. I remember as a kid how mad he got when we took a tool and wouldn't make it back. Your box looks like a million of dollars of bling. It's about time I find out if those tools are still around. It would be Christmas to have a complete old set, with a couple same size of everything. You have a treasure of tools at hand. I bet it feels nice to be able to take on cars to a earth mover Cats and you got something to do it. Really beautiful stuff.
Impressive. As you say 'better to have and not need' than 'need and not have' especially when you are half way through a job and there's no going back. I very rarely throw any tool out, even one off sockets that have had there 'shoulder' ground down to facilitate access at the time, you never know when you will need it again.
It's a weird phenomenon, and my box experiences it just like yours. I think it has to do with the earth's gravitational force, but have you ever noticed how, the closer you go to the floor, the messier and more disorganized the contents in the drawers becomes? I wonder what causes that?
I’ll use harbor freight for a tool that is unique or I don’t use often, if I use it frequently then I’ll shell out the extra for something nicer. Great tools for a pinch or one time use.
May I suggest that you build yourself an overhead compartment on that box that could contain your plastic assortment of diagnostic tools. The way you have them stacked looks as though one ground murmur and they will come down. P.S. are you aware that Snap-on has a 1” drive ratchet, I picked up one at a wonderful discounted price, which included handle and other components. It will make your 3/4” ratchet look very small in comparison. P.S. that top socket drawer is doing more than it’s fair share of gravity resistance.
Same, I have a cheap husky box and I started to worry that the top drawer was gonna fall and break my foot. Put all of the sae stuff in a smaller top box.
Could always get a lisle box if the snapon can't hang with the weight. Industrial boxes that are usa made and each drawer rated for 500lbs. And they recently started offering better paint options. Also can be made to your configuration of choice. I like snapon, but for the price(new) i would choose a lisle.
Gosh, and I thought my 1/2" impact sockets sets with no skips hogged a lot of room. That 2-1/2" by itself probably weighs nearly 3 pounds. That's a scary drawer.

Finding out the rocker switch is going away on the 14.4 brushless tools, reason is the design of the brushless motors. Those older Matco wrenches, were made by Bonney.
Yup. Don't really care about the new Snap-on cordless. Milwaukee wins. Snap-on has been a day late and dollar short on cordless for over a decade. Not reason to pay more for less. So I've heard on the OG Matco tools. Matco has never manufactured tools.
Matco makes their toolboxes. They were with Mac tools 1946 to 1979.Was Mac's toolbox division making Mac's toolboxes until the split in 1979.There are people that say the Matco ratchets are rebranded Gearwrench, this is not true. The internals, length and thickness of the head are completely different. If you go on Koon Trucking's channel,he has a video of his Matco dealer tearing apart them apart and showing the differences.
@@Toolaholic7 as I said, Matco doesn't manufacture tools. The only thing they make are toolboxes and stickers to slap on others tools. Matco and GearWrench were both under Danaher before they sold Matco to Fortive. Gearwrench and Matco guts are identical and interchangeable. Nothing special about Matco tools. Just a high priced rebrand, pretending to be a professional tool company.
@@Toolaholic7 when I was a Snap-on dealer I used to carry a GearWrench 84T and Matco 88T ratchet with me. I'd tear them both down, swap the guts, and then ask my customers why the Gearwrench was $25 and the Matco $120.
