    GREAT looking tool, one thing with Snapon they are expensive but you get what you pay for - but WELL worth it QUALITY! Like you said Android is all you NEED not a entire laptop.

    My rep was telling me they came out with a new scan tool but he didn't have one on the truck yet. I couldn't figure out why they made the Apollo without a scope, I guess this is the answer to that. Then again not everybody uses a scope.

    Is a triton a mid level scanner? It does just about the verus just less scope channels and no bluetooth and smaller screen.

    This is one bad ass tool for sure. I don’t have a Snap-On rep anymore haven’t had one for sometime but this would be the scan tool to upgrade from the one I currently have for sure. That being said I’m about halfway through the video enjoying it so far can you tell me is there extra added cost for using the Shop Key Pro Inc. subscription if so how much

    • @JRC54
      @JRC54  5 лет назад +1

      It's definitely a nice alternative to the Zeus. The triton comes in @ about 6k then it's $1500 a year or so for the shop key subscriptions, plus your yearly scanner update cost.

    • @JustinDowDIYcentralhighway
      @JustinDowDIYcentralhighway 5 лет назад

      JRC54 Dang that’s a big number. Thanks for the reply back. Looking forward to the next video about this scan tool and if you feel the shop key subscription is worth it considering the platform that identafix already has. 🍻👍

      www.buymitchell1.net/mm5/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=M1&Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=PRODEMAND
      You can go right to Mitchell on Demand without a Snap-on rep. It doesn't really matter if it's on a Snap-on machine, or your shop PC, tablet or laptop. It only matters if the cost of the program will work for your business.
      cheers,

    What bothers me is why they dont go wireless bluetooth obd

    • @weldingjunkie
      @weldingjunkie 5 лет назад +1

      Matthew Golz cost, and no one would by the Zeus. It was a strategic move just like the modis isn’t wireless either

    Ya, not a fan of the corded scanners. I sold my Verus Pro a couple months ago. I had the P1000 demo model off the truck. It comes with quite a few adapters for the motorcycle industry. Including a 6’ adapter cord for the bikes, then another 6’ cable with the obdII connector. The plus side, it starts up and is good to go in about 3 seconds where as my Verus pro was just over 3 minutes. The XP operating system was great to use, but there’s no support for it. Hasn’t been for years, except for what snapon offers. It sucks that we are now back to a smaller screen. They’ll probably start offering the ‘Ultra’ and ‘Edge’ versions down the road, for a “small” upgrade fee 😆

    I'm debating on 145$ a month for shop key, what do you think?

    • @JRC54
      @JRC54  5 лет назад

      I pay $160 a month for pro demand and it's the same, so $145 sounds like a deal to me. Lots of great info.

    • @weldingjunkie
      @weldingjunkie 5 лет назад

      $135 for Mitchell pro for 15mo locked in they have a special now. Alldata is running same special. I have the CRM system with my Mitchell for customers I pay $180 a mo for the CRM and Mitchell Pro my rep is local also shop key is Mitchell (pro demand)

    I saw one of those last month when I upgraded to 19.2 on my edge while I was on the truck. I like it because it’s basiclly a modis Edge with intelligence good alternative to the Zeus. I’d rather have wireless though I’m not a fan of dlc cord..Thanks for sharing brother. .. jay

    I have the apollo scanner. I think the only thing that separates yours and mine is the scope. Maybe you can do a in depth video on the scope functions.
    Thanks for another great video!!!!!!!

    My snapon rep says this is replacing the verus pro. Not a fan of it at all. Smaller screen, no Bluetooth connector, and only 2 channel scope equals epic fail just like the Ford engine not to mention their "smart diagnostic" works only half the time. Looks like I'm sticking with autel.

    • @mikefranks2012
      @mikefranks2012 4 года назад

      Zeus replaced the Verus line. Still windows based with a 10" touch screen, 4 channel scope and wireless. The Triton replaced the Modis.

  • @ryanboris8449
    @ryanboris8449 5 лет назад +1

    Is this scanner replacing the modis

    • @JRC54
      @JRC54  5 лет назад

      We all hope not. But I'm sure in time the Verus will be replaced with the Zeus, the Modis will replaced with the Triton and the Solus will be replaced with the Apollo. They are really pushing the Intelligent Diagnostic software skin/themed scanners.

    • @weldingjunkie
      @weldingjunkie 5 лет назад

      Yes it is and he’s right about the others. I was told by the development regional manager that the Verus Edge will be supported for 5 more years, Verus Pro 2 and the modis Edge 5 and the solud and regular modis 2. These new intelligent machines will be the only new sales in a few years. They aren’t even making any more Verus Edge they are just selling the stock that’s made. With the new adas times are changing get your scanner you love now because times running out on them.

    im i the only one that knows all those "features" where in the previous versions (modis,verus) the only difference is that they change the accessibility of those features and now they want you to buy a new tool for 10k instead of just updating the software on the old ones

    • @mikefranks2012
      @mikefranks2012 4 года назад

      Previous model Modis Edge did not feature TSB's or Smart Data. Verus Edge also did not support Smart Data. But yes, the tool is designed to be easier to use. It's about productivity.
