@@evenespenes4677overtime the battery water will evaporate unless it is maintenance free. Where I live we have a high level of lime in our water from the limestone. A truck I purchased from a friend had been sitting for a few years because he broke the water pump bolts inside the block so after I did that I had to flush the system and the radiator took at least 10 times of filling and rinsing it out until all the lime deposits stopped coming out of the radiator. If your battery is not being overcharged you likely do not have to add water in the short life that most batteries made today have. Distilled water is a must for both.

    • @zyeborm
      @zyeborm 2 месяца назад +1

@@evenespenes4677 the issue is dissolved salts and chlorine/fluorine in the water will use up the anti corrosion parts of the coolant. Ideally you want deionised water, the ions in the water are what allows for galvanic corrosion to happen in the first place. It's also a few $ for heaps of it so why not. Note you will have ions in your tap water regardless of where you live or how "good" the water is. It's nothing much to do with that unless the water is properly terrible.

When I first built it, it ran 17.36 seconds in the 1/4 at the Redding, dragstrip...I have a Flowmaster muffler and if you need a new aluminum radiator contact FSR Radiator, they custom built one for me... the first one they ever made, for my van and they've sold a bunch more of them now. 2 core aluminum...

I think you should take the route of being different and unique with the van. LS is easy, run of the mill and done 1000X over everyday. I think you should turbo the slant six. There are aftermarket headers, intakes, cams, etc for the six. With an in house fab guy now, doing custom exhaust manifold or intercooler tubing should be easy. You could, for now, just keep the short block stock (minus maybe adding a cam). Lightly tear it down to regap the rings for a turbo. Slap it back together. Add the the add ons (intake, cam, headers, turbo, IC and fuel injection).

Robbie and The Boss...they made/make Offenhauser and Clifford high performance aluminum intake manifolds for Slant Six engines, and they make one-piece and two-piece (for dual exhaust) headers for them as well...if you use both together it increases the power quite a bit just with two bolt-on parts.

  • @neilfromclearwaterfl81

It even looks like it has the Fargo adjustable ebrake lever. If you spin the grip you should be able to adjust it on the fly as the need arises. Folks who didn't know how it worked would spin the grip and put the ebrake so far out of adjustment it either wouldn't grip at all or would be impossible to set. If you reset the cable adjuster underneath be sure to back off the handle so you'll have plenty of adjustment available from the driver seat to accommodate for wear.
Old school was to put a Six Pack (3 Two Barrel Carbs) on those and then the Old Slant 6 will fly. JC Whitney use to sell the Six Pack intake manifold for those.
    Best!

I really dislike the OnX Build Challenge shenanigans. Everyone pays pennies for their vehicle and suddenly there's tons of brand new things on there that they got for free, the competition comes and they're being charged full price for everything.

    2. Laymo
    3. Off road school bus
    4. Toyota/Jeep build
    5. Boss's Bronco build
    6. Whiskers

@@CynSanRead through the comments. Quite a few have commented that he should finish the existingprojects. Remember, the customer is (almost) always right. If he continues creating more projects without completing them, he may never make it to a million subs. Of course, if he keeps irritating subscribers he won't ever have to finish the Charger as he won't get to a million subs. But you're correct, it's his channel so he can run it the way he wants (or the way Demri wants as she's the boss). 😂

Funny I just read the last comment and I was about to send the same message. I quit Paul’s channel because I got tired of so many projects. I love this Chanel, i love the team but I’m losing the thread. I keep tuning in to see how you will finish Whiskers or what’s next for King Fred and now another project that will disappear off the channel for weeks on end. Please please please can we focus on progress on 2 or 3 core projects before some of us give up.

RE: Coolant. It was many years ago, but we were able to knock quite a bit off of our coolant bill by setting up with a local coolant recycler - they kept a pair of 55 gallon drums at our shop full of recycled green stuff, and that was Good Enough for a lot of applications (we didn't mix colors, so sometimes it wasn't the correct coolant for the application). Nice folks, too.

Said it before and don’t want to be a downer. Can we finish a project please? People get invested in them from afar and the. They get forgot about. From the limo, the rock crawler, engine swap the tow truck, bus, charger, and a few I’m sure I forgot.

@@briangalloway3684very well said. most of these people don't realize what it takes to run a successful RUclips business, on top of running a full on collision repair business. they have time schedules for filming and editing, they have events to attend, traveling to do other projects and collabs. waiting on parts some of which are custom fabbed by the company and many months out from arrival at Robbie's shop etc. not to mention many sponsorships on parts and projects like the on X bus and other builds. the charger is in the shop having all the metal work and panels done so I'm sure that will be coming up for content, the bronc star did awesome down at Matt's off-road games so I'm sure that will be getting more love sometime soon also. sometimes they just need something to be able to get a video out especially since they have family's and regular lives besides making free content for us to enjoy. I honestly don't care if they have 100projects going at once I appreciate they make free videos for us without asking us to sign up for a top tier gold membership to see the good stuff, that fact alone keeps me watching loyally. been watching since it was just Robby's Derby Channel since the very beginning even before the golden Nugget revival

One of the best upgrades a person can make to a Slant Six Mopar engine for more power is to convert it to electronic ignition if it has a points distributor. Mopar makes a high performance box and distributor kit or you can put a Pertronix unit on it or an MSD box (MSD solid core plug wires are awesome with any ignition system).
