I was surprised to hear that Whiskers weights as much as a skid steer. My uncle has the exact same Ford as that with a 6.9L diesel 5 spd. and he always brags about the time he pulled a semi out that was stuck in the ditch.

Ok so I’m from the same county in Idaho that pickup is from so I’m not surprised that happened as that’s what we did growing up there. Good ol 2L! That place is where I vacation and go to heal my soul. Ain’t a place better than it.

Check out C&C equipment. Engine swap in Tuckers 1995 Ford. It’s a beautiful 1995 Ford crew cab they converted to 4 wheel drive and installed a 12 valve. Clint and his son Tucker rebuild it and do an install. You definitely need to touch base with Clint. Knows what he is doing.
Not sure Whiskers needs a paint job, it has a lot of character like it is. It's unique!
I’m glad to see hillbilly taking kindly to Colton . In the beginning u could tell hillbilly was guarding his turf or really didnt know what to think when Colton first came on the Sean but now the old dog and the puppy are playing nice
Yeah, I noticed that too. Hillbilly always seemed to forget he was once a newbie and still learning things too. It's good to see him mellowing out.

C and C Equipment in Indiana did a 5.9 conversion in a F350. He gave the name for a company that makes conversion kits. They were spot on.
Nah Diesels much like electric suck in the cold. Needs to put a Cammed 454 big block. Would sound better too.
Was just going to say the same thing. Clint does a awesome job with his channel and his boys are lucky to have a dad like him.
@@ruger8412 diesels suck in the cold? What about the millions and millions of diesel trucks all over the highways in winter and all the massive amounts of diesel generators in every geological location in the world?
@ruger8412 why all the trouble over keeping the 460 ?, it will take more abuse than a bbc and it's in there now.

I've ran diesel trucks in Colorado for decades they suck to start in the cold,,, period! If it's not plugged into a block heater as they need to be in cold climates or if it's below 5°f we don't even shut them off. I have a gaint black stain on my driveway as a witness if you do shut them off or don't plug them in. Older Nodwells in the arctic would run non-stop all winter (9 months) long or they wouldn't start again until spring. Diesels on the haul road to Prudo Bay will not turn off their semi's the whole trip. Same goes for generations in the arctic they use propane heaters to heat the oil & diesel to get them to turn over. Also there's a point where your diesel gels up & no longer acts like a liquid. Paul from fab-rats recovered a truck hauling down logs on a trailer last month & they couldn't get it started. That's fatal in freezing temperatures, that in itself is the definition of not ideal.
Sometimes the funniest thing is the truth. "What are you doing? " ..... "....."😃

Ten days ago, we tried to enter Fish Lake National Forest from Cathedral Valley. Our route was blocked by three feet of snow. Then tried to go to Dixie National Forest and again got blocked by snow.
Great recovery ..got the job done and had fun.

Robby, you should put a couple welding lead connectors in the side of whiskers and make some good jumper cables out of heavy welding leads! They sale the twist lock fittings at the welding supply! They would never fail you! A little advice idea!

You should find a 1960's van body to use when you rebuild whiskers. Just imagine it with a rounded body and sliding side door.
Hey, I run dump trucks of different flavors. All but one have air bag dump switches. One has Hendrickson suspension. We dump air bags to stabilize during dumping. We do lots of hillside work.
I passed you as you drove to Fish Lake. I was watching for this video to drop.
Sounds like the other truck needs a major steering refurb. And remember to check for elongated holes in brackets.

Love whiskers, I get a kick out of your owning a paint shop and he has needed a paint job for years. I like the simplicity and reliability of your unit better than Bombie that is nothing original. Seems like under power doesn't break things and just gets you through 😂😂. Everything you've done is just making it a better rig and more practical for you guys. Keep up the good work everyone.

If you remove the fuel filter and refill the filter and reinstall then bleed the injectors it should crank and run.
add more caster to the front axle on the f350 and run 3/16 toe in and your troubles are over. spring shims to lean the axle back just a bit and they drive great.
Not that Robby (Chevy kid) …really…wants to make a Ford actually better😢

Only the Layton crew can make a mundane rescue so entertaining! But I saw Deja Blue on Matt's channel with the rear lift gate caved in! I am bummed, but one good thing- it will provide more work for the crew! (As if you guys needed more work!)

Bleeding the injectors was unnecessary it's cold out. Diesels always have trouble starting in the cold. And you only tried it twice.
Nice seats on Wiskers. Keep your buns warm on those. If Chad did the wiring you should be well off
Ford made the best diesel motor parts from caterpillar engines international engines, and Ford engines. It’s the 7.3 best diesel turbo out there in my opinion.

Spend the extra on a good set of cables would not go over 2 gauge ,4 and higher are just garbage

wasnt out of diesel, grid heater is probably on a button or switch, probably would have started up super easy by pressing it.

Old school 12 valve crack number 1 & 3 crank until you have a steady stream coming out of the injectors then tighten them up and your done! I've been messing with diesel engines for almost 48 years! First truck I drove was a Hayes converted from a logging truck to a heavy recovery wrecker with a triple stick at 13 years old all logging roads had a trailer with a bulldozer and old 6x6 military crane went everywhere getting my dad's & Uncles trucks !
Whisker is one sad-looking machine, maybe you can take it to Maaco and get a paint job on her. lol
