Just picked up a 525 with a 137 TS kit. Has heated grips, but that's about it. Plan to make a blanket like what you showed here, but will also use a header wrap all the way back to the muffler. Will also use a filter skin over the rads to prevent snow packing and partially restrict flow. Thoughts?
@@InTheDirtAgain for the header I wouldn’t use wrap unless your ok doing it over a couple more times throughout the season. They also steam really bad when soaking wet. I would just buy P3 header cover. There’s other companies that make similar stuff as well (E-Line and Pro Carbon). For the radiators I have found cutting very think plastic works best to cover them. That way on warm days you can slide them out and use your rads. Make sure you have modified your airbox to let snow fall out and use a good filter skin like Outerwear. The 525’s are awesome machines, torque galore.
I seen your one video where you mentioned making your own. Used that link and ordered the material. I had bought the C3 skins but being that I have the Yamaha 450 the skins don't cover the head and with the RP straight back exhaust it leaves the head wide open. So being able to make my own worked out well. And I still have enough material to make another one.
I’ve stopped running them on my 2 strokes ride more slow and tight trees the 2 strokes stay warm. For me anyways. If we ever get some real snow I might make some again
What material did you use?
Big Duck Canvas Vinyl (18oz). I’ll add a link to their product in the description.

Great instruction, thanks! Should the pipe remain uncovered?
I would cover the pipe just to protect your leg from being burned. The 2 strokes as well.
I used clear plastic for the template so you can see where to mark it and I used a bbq grill mate heat resistant off amazon and a grommet kit !
I bought the Amazon grill mat for a pellet stove and the material from that was nicer than the Big Duck Canvas. It is a little more expensive.
Nice! Good tip!
You said “you’ll be doing it for your friends”.
So hey buddy………….
Hahaha come on over and bring a six-pack! 🍻

@BertaRiders that’s a good call running a jacket over the C3 skins. The C3 skins won’t keep an engine warm enough where we ride.
