@@michazeschke6436 First he said that there was wicket @ Faisalabad, Pakistan where even tailenders could score a century and in one of the matches played there Sunil Gavaskar was playing at 59 n he got Gavaskar out bat pad.....He then concluded that if he didn't get his wicket that day Gavaskar would hv been playing till date on this pitch........

@@michazeschke6436 2nd one was ..goes like this " about 83 workdcup selection..in those days I wasn't considered for 1 day matches ..I asked my captain ( Imran khan ) to consider me..but he wasn't ready for it.. I said ..lets make a deal, during the net practice if you hit me for six I'll stay out of 1 day matches ..but if I bowl you out then I should be considered for the 1 day matches ( for 1983 workd cup ).. during that time I had developed a new Google delivery and had practiced a lot.. so next day we went for the net practice ..I bowled at Imran khan and got him clean bowled .. then both of were quiet and captain started fixing the stumps and saying I am feeling down today and not in the right frame of mind ... then came the next day ..on the first ball Imran hit me for six and then in the second delivery he was clean bowled by me . and that's how I made it to the workdcup squad of 1983 .. one of the nice qualities of Imran khan is if you convince him with conviction he gets convinced.. Now during one of the workdcup matches against westindies ..I took 4 wickets and made 28 runs ( wanted to win the match of the match award so that I can seal my place in the playing 11 for the rest of the tournament) I won't the MoM award..but for the next match my team manager said I am dropped , I was surprised and asked him I am the MoM of the previous match how can you drop me...his manager said this is Srilankan team..they play better cricket " so basically that day I understood that even winning MoM title from a match still doesn't guarantee you a spot in the team or take your place for granted in the team

Loved to see this side of him, such a humorous soul, I'm sure he will keep the angels in splits. The way he described the pitch at Faisalabad and kidded Sunny sa'ab about how he'd still be batting was inimitable. Wonderful player and fantastic raconteur.
