The Nuggets are going down the same route as the Bucks.
    1. Win a championship, 2. Lose a key player in the offseason, 3. Have 1 last good playoff run, 4. Injuries keep them from competing?
Hopefully the last one doesn't come true but their trajectories look eerily similar.

Jeff Teague recently said it I believe this morning, in lesser words Giannis is more so like a point guard (as far as handling the ball/need to have the ball to be effective). When dame has the ball, he’s more so sitting and not doing anything due to his limitations offensively. He also said a large part why Jrue was so great was because he’s more of a Swiss Army knife that can do all things and make up for what giannis can’t do like set screens. Vise versa for dame- dame isn’t someone who will do things more effective that fits giannis game (aside from shooting) that helps. And I can see it.

I 100% agree with that Giannis take. Off the ball he has no physicality and cant screen for nothing. BUT i do see why it'd be hard for him since (from what i remember) last season he was top 20-15 for personal fouls so i imagine trying/adding the physical screen to his bag while could be good but also hurt his time on court. I just think when it comes to the Bucks what theyre missing is the presence of Middleton & maybe its time they move on from him and start scouting for others.

The issue with Denver's bench is that you don't just randomly become a good shooter. They essentially have Strawther who is still raw and Braun who can shoot but not as well as you'd need him to. I can definitely think of SOME players they could pick up that could help. Torrey Craig and Jevon Carter on the Bulls are both getting DNPs, and although they both weren't amazing last season you can almost guarantee they'd shoot at their best with Jokic feeding them - they're also both solid enough on defense. They're both affordable as well, so maybe that's a trade that could be made to bolster the bench with some more shooting without having to dump many assets (probably just a simple salary match would work). Outside of getting rid of one of the core 4, they need to do fringe trades because so much of their salary cap is taken up by 4 players.

As much as I love giannis as a bucks fan he has similar problems to what people gripe on with dame. When he is not playing well offensively he is not gonna help very much, his defense is supposed to be stellar but it seems like he is really not trying all that hard at the moment. He also can for some reason not set a screen which means brook Lopez has to come up to set screens for dame which makes it harder for him to get rebounds. Giannis also had a BAD game last night, even thought the stats looked well his turnovers and offensive fouls were far to frequent (I think he had 11 combined) and it led to lots of opportunities for the Celtics to make a run which they very much did once Giannis started to turn the ball over a lot. This is not to say Giannis is the problem but there needs to be some accountibility from him and he needs to get better at these things or this team will go nowhere and this trade and era will forever get looked at as dame being washed where it more seems like they can’t figure out how to play to eachothers strengths.

As a Bucks fan, that defense is flat out atrocious. In transition, at the point of attack, and switching off pick and rolls, it's really painful to watch. I think another aspect (as corny as this is worded) is simply energy/effort levels, which yes you can partly attribute to age....but sometimes it doesn't even look like Giannis and Dame are giving effort. There was a play last night in transition against D. White in the 1st where I was like "This should be an easy Giannis chasedown." and he just jogged back, no urgency whatsoever. *Sigh*, I think they're cooked.

Not trading MPJ, missing draft picks, signing Jamal to max, not signing experience cheap players and bringing freaking Russell Westbrook as the solution for the bench is just to much for Joker to compensate with his greatness, they are 15 win team without him, even with him I'm not sure they're top 6 on the west. Calvin Booth is an idiot and Mike Malone is the type of coach who will say "we gotta be better on both ends" instead of real coaching. Sadly, Nuggets are done.

As a nuggets fan, shooting is the issue, it was a poorly covered up issue last year, and it is a gaping hole in this team now. Russ is a symptom, not the problem. Other teams leave Christian Braun, Peyton Watson, AG, and Russell Westbrook wide open on the 3 daring them to shoot and heavily guard jokic, Jamal, and MPJ. Jamal and MPJ can’t get a rhythm at any point cause they can’t get any easy looks when the jokic jamal two man game is getting guard by 3-4 guys and MPJ is getting face guarded. Shout out to AG, he’s been making team pay for leaving him wide open on the 3, Braun isn’t hitting the jumpers but he’s cutting well, so he’s hitting layups, Watson is not though, and Russ obviously isn’t hitting his shots but he can’t even do the things he’s good at because the paint is always too packed. Our backup big position is vacant and probably not gonna be filled, and we have no spacing.
Shoutout Tim Connelly for buffoonish trades that sent tons of our young developing talent in the late 2010s out for nothing at all, and I do literally mean nothing at all, and shoutout Calvin Booth for falling for the fool’s gold “2 time line” team building, strategy and letting any and all vets go without replacing them with anyone that might take the young guys minutes to try and force coach Malone’s hand in giving young guys burn for the sake of giving them burn, even at the expense of winning.

When you have a coaching combination of Doc Rivers and Darvin Ham, that's not a good sign if you're the Bucks and the same can be said for the Nuggets when you have a washed up Westbrick on their team and no shooters whatsoever because they locked in to their 4 main guys to long term extensions that will eventually cripple them years down the line because that would enable them to sign free agents that can help this team.
