Lets hope you never get pulled over and falsely accused of not wearing your seat belt. Some people need to make a christmas bonus at your expense. 1st offense, you don't get a fine, your vehicle gets IMPOUNDED, R7000 release fee, R10 000 on 2nd offense. Do you think this punishment fits the crime? Have you ever been victim to unfair \ corrupt policing? Its terrible. If a cop says he saw you not wearing a seat belt, how do you prove him wrong? His word against yours, so you now have to get your vehicle impounded then go fight in court and spend your time there and you just losing all the way. Even if you win the case you lost time and energy. You even stand a chance to lose the case... This is opening up another surface area that citizens will need to protect themselves from and has already costed the country in economic damage far more than it has set out to gain.

Obviosly they need to boost security in this instance heavily to protect infrastructure and commuters. If we can get the busses and rail to work correctly then there will be no need for taxis. Use the revenue gained from impouding to upgrade the rail systems and security.

I am an ANC voter in Gauteng, I stand with the decision of the DA government in the WC on this one, someone needs to stand up to the bullies in order to make this country work.
For far too long the ANC allowed bullies like SANTACO and the COSATU unions to do as they please, it's time DA shows them how it's done for the sake of our country.
I would really be disappointed if the DA government would give in to the lawless demands of SANTACO, at this point we are all watching.

Stand strong everyone in CT, this is necessary if we want to build a better country for all. I am actually jealous of your taxi strike as the way it is being handled is a beacon of hope.

what is funny is that you know exactly who is not prepared to stay the course. you know that the people who will be mostly affected the strike are not in Clifton, Constantia, Southern sub or blouberg. DA thrives on creating room for chaos and fights amongst the poor. you know people will end up fighting each other over who is to blame.

The lawlessness allowed to thrive in this country for many years is a direct reflection of the ANCs incompetence, well done DA...show the ANC how its done.
