Keep calling but get an email and keep sending them some of your best shots. It's good old hard work of knocking on doors. Show up to all the jackpots around you it takes a bit but someone will see and give you a chance. Heck I still shoot from the stands looking for that banger. Good luck and let me know when you get your first Rodeo!!

I would like to know how the prca rodeo's that no photographer is going or covering. I see some that are smaller rodeo's and would like to shoot them but wonder If i have to have a pass or something to do so. like you said I do a lot of youth rodeo's and have gotten good but would like to go to some of the little rodeo's that are right next to me. I know I would not be able to do pro rodeo all the time as I work a full time job but I would like to go to the prca rodeo's located by me. would I have to just contacted the rodeo event staff and ask if there is a photographer for the event and if not would I be able to shoot it and still sale the photos or am I just setting my self up for a don't do. that from the prca. i have seen it is a pricy thing to even get your license form the prca. as well. any advice would help;. your video was good I have seen lot of people set up light it is a hard thing to shoot all day and then have to pull all your light and pole down . I shoot with ad600 and ad1600 battery flash for the most part. and seem to do good. freezing action. for the price of the flash. I like the Einstein alien b. they're good. thanks for you video I enjoyed it a lot.

thanks for your time. i hade some more questions so if i call a rodeo that is a prca and get the ok even if i don't have a card. can i still put the photos up on my website and sale them. i have been looking at the process to be a prca card holder and it is a lot and i still have to work a first job. but i am trying hard to push for bigger rodeo's. the gear i use is ok i think. two godox flash 600ad and a 1200 ad i am getting the flash freeze down and low iso. i will say finding the right spots to put ones flash is a tuff thing to get right. i am starting to think i need more power. but i make do. . i got a r5 and some good glass as well. i got a good path started been working small rodeos and youth bull riding is fun but some time the pay is not there. but i keep trying to be the best i can. i liked your video as there is not a lot of them showing the work a rodeo photographer is doing lots of them just skip over some of the lighting things and some of the set up. your right editing is all ways overlooked. the more you get it right in camera the faster i go.. last thing and it's the thing every photographer is wondering starting out is my work any good i will put a ling to my work and if you would like to see it. that would be amazing. but i also understand if you cant . thanks and i will say it was nice to see your video and see what i would like to be some day. thanks and hope to see more videos in the futer . @@bsmrodeo

Anytime my friend! You can only sell them to the committee you cant post or sell from your web site unless you are a carded shooter. Your lights are plenty strong maybe one more. As you see in this video we put up 7 or 8 but thats a really big arena. Are you getting them high enough? Every arena is different as you know but as you get to shoot the same rodeos well it will get a lot easier. We are doing a few videos during the NFR hopefully I can get a few more of your questions answered We will do one with a drawing of an arena and best spots. I know if had to change my plans because I didn’t have enough extension cords. That never happened again LOL. Good luck and keep throwing that stuff I guarantee some will stick!!

i have been using strong Panters poles to get my flash up high. i mod the end and it is stronger then tripod's i can put them in pvc for quick moving if i need to . or i have made metal holders to clamp to other pols to hold them. i try to put them up high. i hade good results with the top of the stans and at the end of the arena placed up like 15 ft and the ones on the stands up 10 or 12 above every one. i can light one end rely good with my set up but both ends is hard. there battery powered so no cored so that nice. i think some times the ad600 is not quite enuf. power. i put 45* reflector's on them to help push the light past the stans and keep it off the people setting in them. i some time feel with the horses and riders might get blinded but so fair i have not had any complaints but i still feel on the barrels it could be a distraction but I'm getting over it more and more and just shooing and getting the shot. it seems every one only shows day rodeo's and how to do them which is hard but not that hard. it is the night stuff with bad light that separates most photographers i feel. you can get good shots with most cameras in the day time and be super creative but let the sun go down and the bad lights come on and every one put there phone away as there photos look so bad i have done some rodeos with out flash and it takes some work but it not to bad the r5 is good and f2.8.i can even use my 150-600 if i got good flash set up as the fstop is still good with flash. also lighrooms new denoise is good. but with flash it is night and day lol. for image quality. so yes i hope to see some more on Maby how to place your light and how to set it up to not blinded the riders or horses that is my big concern so fair i put them up high and mostly on one side and back some from the fence as i can it is hard if it is a in side arena but there some time smaller so it help with bull it not a problem i feel i can flash them and it will not be a problem as there looking down and the light is not at there level so i hit them with the light more and harder if i need to. plus there moving fast so i need the flash deration to be at a level i can still use. but yes any advice on flash with the ropers and barrals would be a help. i have seen some people say to not even use flash on them and some say it not a problem there rodeo horses and it should not be a problem what do you think. flash and get a good shot or do a little of both flash when you can and do the best your gear can do in low light the rest of the time. any advice would be amazing. thanks for your time i know you are a working man and have lots to do . @@bsmrodeo
