He didn't rinse the rice. Easy method to cook rice. Use your finger to measure the water. All of us Asians knows how to cook rice and the key is measure with finger 😁

Every time I cook rice I rinse it before so it doesn’t come out all gooey and sticky. Same with pasta
Lemon does the trick. Have tried it myself. Unless you have a really fast cooking rice, lemon always works well
