I had actual shivers when you described those “fleeting ephemeral moments”. How can you explain that feeling to someone who never lived it? For me it’s watching the weather all summer, spotting a window coming, the early morning start, the climb up, The feeling of launching from a 4000m summit with your best friends. Those days when it all lines up are so precious and affirming. Your story telling is just next level. I love your videos.
Another masterpiece Judson! I'll never forget May 18th 1980, as I was a ninth grader, growing up in Oregon. It hardly seems like 44 years have passed since that fateful day. Just amazing to watch you fly over it all today.
I cant describe how much I love your videos they are wholesome beautiful cinematic and teach you how to be not only a better pilot but a more appreciative and genuine person.
This was sick Judson. Loved that you include a lead up to the mission. Introducing the plan, the people, and some behind the scenes vlog stuff to build the story better. Cinematics and color grading aside- that’s what sets you FAR above other boring flight videos. Stoked to see another video from ya man
This is what paramotors are for. Great video Judson, thanks for taking us along. I remember the eruption well as it was all over the news in the UK. I was 12 at the time. Time flies and so do I now.
I’m beginning to learn the element to this sport where you take a gamble every step of the way, and keep moving towards the goal anyways as things line up due to things out of our control as well as in our control. Keep flying Judson 👍
I was about 165 miles east-north-east when St. Helens blew. The ash cloud as it rolled in was like nothing you've ever seen (and hopefully won't). The sun set on every horizon but the west and it was total darkness by noon. The ash started falling shortly after and fell until sometime late at night. We had 6 to 9 inches covering the town the next day - things became very local as the ash would go right through air-filters and engines would be ruined within hours. It's crazy just how much metric earth went airborne that day. Hopefully one day you too will see just how fast 44 years can go by, young man Judson.
Way to go Judson! One of my favourite videos now. I was 22 years old when Mount Saint Helens erupted. South of my town about two hours was covered in an inch of ash from that eruption. Keep in mind where the Asheville is in Canada above Idaho, about two hours by car. It’s funny I had just gotten married that March. I visited Saint Helens‘s number of years ago and like you was completely blown away by the magnitude and the destruction. Thank you for making a really cool video flying over that crazy volcano epic , cheers Jerry Canada
I was a teenager when it erupted. my mom was visiting our relatives who lived about 100 miles east of there. her car was buried and took a month to get it running so she could get home. everyone and everything around for miles was coated or buried in ash. your video made me think of all this! it was a crazy time! I still have a cup of the ash she got from the top of her car. very cool video man! such a cool perspective! Thank you!
Crazy but amazing Judson! 😮😊. Risk vs Reward is an interesting concept. I've done a few things in my life. 77 years old now. Still alive but had a few lucky escapes though, but I must admit I worry more about risk now. 😏. Still flying and riding my motorbike though. 😊. Another great video, thanks.
I just climbed St Helens for the 2nd time on the 12th for my 21st Birthday and was the first to the summit at 5am for sunrise it was absolutely amazing. I thought that view was amazing but I couldn’t imagine personally seeing this view what a trip.
I remember pretty vividly when Mount St. Helens blew. In the days before Internet and Cable TV, this event easily took over all US media. There was a lot of speculation and prediction that it was going to erupt before it popped. Some locals didn't want to leave and some people tried to drive/hike in to see it. It was a crazy time. That's so wild that you flew over it. Mind blown!
Beautiful & inspirational! I think you should fly Mt Washington in NH. Maybe Johnson Qu could be your guide. But it's pretty dang far from where you are 😕
Have you ever considered of testing an electric paramotor? Like the Airitaly Epg-21? It states the flight time is around 60-80 minutes which i think sounds very good.
Legit question, did you bring a little bit of TP with too incase you had a motor out and had to poop lol while waiting/hiking out. What a beautiful flight! Thanks for taking us along.
Yo dude! Sweet vid as always. Hit me (Chipper) up at 88NV, BxA volunteer camp. I'll have the paramotor ready when the weather is. See you on the Playa, buddy!

I visited Mt. St. Helens in the early 2000s and it was nice to see it up close from the air. Thanks, dude.
I was 4 years old when that thing popped off and can still remember watching footage of it on the news. Wild memory to have at such a young age.
Yumm,y bro.
Great place to see........thanks.
Absolutely incredible, parts of that mountain up to 4 inches to a foot of ash reside in North Idaho now over 400 miles away!
