Obi is my fav character in the whole series. Like if it was Any other character he would probably try to get shirayuki for himself and fight Zen for her but instead obi just accepted that shirayuki loves Zen and continued to stay by their side and be happy for them like that breaks my heart everytime i think about it obi is a really good person and i wish the author made a love story for him too

This anime establishes the reality of the time period perfectly, Princes were busy, it was common for their spouse to cheat because they were never around. It also illustrates the idea of a romantic love interest and the love that lasts forever. Not that I think Zen will stop loving her, but having been in the position once of having a romantic interest and the best friend I could be myself with, its a hard position to be in. I chose the best friend in my case and do not regret it, but too many women choose the romance route and it usually doesn't end well. In reality Zen and Shirayuki would eventually fizzle out while Obi and Shirayuki would be happy forever, but I am sure that Zen and Shirayuki will have their happily ever after anyway, because its a story. Girls, if you want you Obi, don't friend zone them ^-^ The romance doesn't last forever, but the love will.

If I'm being honest here, I like Shiriyuki as just a close friend with Zen. He is too clingy to be comfortable. I honestly dislike the ship. A lot. Obi has so much affection for her, yet it's not an overload. He's respectful too. He never kissed her without permission (unless he did, and I didn't see that episode) and he knows his limits. Even though he has thought about holding her hand, he didn't. He knew it would make her uncomfortable. Obi and Shiriyuki are way better together in my opinion. I would like a whole story dedicated to that ship.

And that they stay friends and she, Shirayuki, continues to be his strength not as a wife/princess but as a friend, scientist, pharmacist/doctor, diplomat (sort of), and whatever else she becomes. Obi wants to do the same, be both their strengths, what a great team they would make for Zen. :)
At least in this version he might have told her and broke up... or are you going with the crush like in the manga/anime. Either way I like it and I enjoyed the amv.
