Wasn’t flashy last week, but it was complimentary. When lions tied and took the lead, we scored a touchdown the next drive. Our defense was never on the field facing a deficit, and that’s huge for Todd Bowles
Right. That’s what stood out to me more than almost anything honestly If their offense can just be adequate, and complimentary like you said, for the majority of their games with Bowles and the defense doing what they’ve been doing, it’s hard to see them losing many games this year
As soon as I saw the headline that Baker signed to Tampa Bay, I immediately got his jersey. Easily a player with one of the best work ethics. This is my goat.

I knew Canales was bad with play-calling last year, but the "dead play" comment is damning and it goes a long way to explain the Panthers' offense so far this year.
I thought the same thing. Feel like it’s inevitable that we’re gonna see a vastly improved Baker in terms of production this year with the freedom he’s now being given by Liam Coen
Previously, this should be the let down season for Baker. I couldn't be happier that he is making Tampa Bay a real force in the NFC, and should enjoy a winning season with a playoff appearance. For the detractors in Northeast Ohio, eat shit!
It is crazy how taking a chance on him last year with a 1yr/$4M deal has turned into what it has with him arguably playing better than any other quarterback in football right now Small sample size in just 2024, but very curious to see how he does over the course of this year with Liam Coen
If he can maintain his pace of a minimum of two tuddies a game, then he will do better this year statistically. We have some tough opponents this year though
im excited to see how they utilize all our weapons w/ this new playbook, but last week’s win was a Todd Bowles masterclass! our defense did not miss a beat even w/ 3 starters out no lie when Baker first signed w/ us, i was not on board. but we had so much dead cap from restructuring Brady’s deal we had no choice. now im all in. hes the perfect leader for this team. overlooked & underrated much of his career, jst like the rest of our ragtag group. GO BUCS
Could not agree more with you about the defense. Was absolutely insane seeing what they did against Detroit so short handed If Bowles keeps that production up on that side of the ball, hard to see Tampa losing many games if Baker and the offense at least has an adequate game like we just saw
He's loosening up, he's evolving really fast! I'm loving seeing these bold plays! The problem continues to be our defense! Did you see the last game against the Falcons? In Overtime! What a leaky defense, more than a sieve?
Been Bucs fan many decades. Baker is a great QB. He’s on a very good Bucs roster. The national media always ignores the a Bucs though. Last years Bucs offense wasn’t a hugely different cast of guys but we did upgrade LG and Center and added RB Irving. The biggest difference as noted in the video is Cohen is a very good coordinator. Bowles was smart picking him. Last years offense was very vanilla under Canales.
Right. You can already see in the details both how much more extensive the playbook under Coen is, and how much more improved that offense could potentially be with it
@@TheFootballDigest if the Bucs don't make it to the super bowl I would like to see the Lions or the Bills win their first. By the way great video, You did Great job 👍
I appreciate you 👍 really glad you enjoyed! I’m also in the same boat as you. Was really hoping Detroit would’ve made it last year for entertainment’s sake. Feel like the NFL is more wide open this season than it’s been in years
Just take a look at bake avoiding sacks in the pocket all season last year. Spinning out of for sure sacks and throwing a completion. Dude got really good at it and it really came out last year, and it's still rolling
As a Bucs fan going to that first game vs Washington. Sure, Washington defense is very suspect but the offense looked good from the year before. Baker looks comfortable and the timing with his wrs are in sync. Just gotta see more consistency week to week from a year ago but this offense looks good so far.
I think with learning Liam Coen’s new offense, they’re definitely going to have their slight struggles like we’ve seen on certain plays But by the time we hit the halfway point of this year, I think their offense is going to be far more effective through the air than it was last year. Excited to see how it turns out
Most people don’t understand the value of good coaches, good management, good teammates and good culture does. Do you think Tom Brady would be who he is if he played at any team in the NFL? Put Brady in a franchise with bad all of the above and he is doomed. Happy Baker found a good place to showcase his talent.
Baker is good... Funny though you didn't mention the Tampa defense... Even banged up they have the juice... Held the Lions to 16 points... We will talk more after week 5 or so...
TBH The secondary didn't miss a beat i.mean really with the exception of a couple of splash plays from Detroit did you notice a difference of game time play? That's how good our Defense is
You’re right, the defense has been phenomenal. I’ll probably do a video more focused on the entire Buccaneers teams down the road getting into that side of the ball also 👍
With their big injuries also, I was shocked to see them perform as well as they did. Just shows you what them & Bowles can be capable of when fully healthy
100%. Sadly looks like it’s gonna be a glaring weak spot for them again.. Small sample size but we’ll see if it can improve over the next couple of weeks. Hope I’m wrong
I’m really hoping for the sake of their success they get the ground game rolling over the next few weeks Looking like it might be their weak spot again 😅
Need to get that run offense going cuz if they do Baker gonna rip teams up. A lot of people don’t know but Baker is one of the most intelligent QBs in the league. Sean Peyton and McVay both said in 18 that he could see and play once and write it up and call it perfectly. He has a photographic memory. I think there’s gains be some struggles cuz they can’t run the ball but we’ll see.
This is a little misleading. Godwin had a great game in the slot - but so did Cooper Kupp. He had 110 yards against the Lions in the slot. It is a weakness in their defensive secondary. We will have to see how Godwin does over the remainder of the season. He has always been good in the slot but was taken out of it last year because he was hurt a lot in the slot two years ago. If he can stay healthy then he probably will be very good but there is a question on how long he can stay healthy in that position.
Valid point. It is a small sample size, but like you said Godwin has a history of being much more productive in the slot compared to split far out Very curious to see how much of his high production against Detroit will keep up 👍
Ironic too that Liam Coen is coming from the Los Angeles Rams, where he’s taken over a similar offense that had Kupp thriving in the slot as well with his time there Can’t wait to see if he can do the same and potentially get Godwin a career year with what he draws up
Throwing over the middle more frequently was something Coen said prior to the season was gonna be emphasized a lot more in this offense Just two weeks in, you can definitely see he wasn’t kidding lol
Shake n bake all day baby 🏴☠️ Bucs Super Bowl bound if the defense can get healthy. Shut down the lions with like 4-5 key defensive starters and played a practice squad guy at right guard against Aiden Hutchinson all day bc starter was in concussion protocol. He will be back this week 🔥
It is insane to consider they won this game despite the numbers, nonetheless the injuries they had across the board like you mentioned If they can win games like that, hard to think they ain’t winning the NFC South yet again this year
Should not be able to do this? Who said that? Who told you that? Put Baker in a system with reliable players and he can play like a Formula One racer. Don't believe me? Look at his college stats at Oklahoma. Baker Mayfield had the highest QB rating: 198.9 (2017) and 196.4 (2016). Was in the top 4 in all 3 seasons he played in every game. Had he been drafted by a decent team like Kansas City the whole makeup of the NFL might look different. Any questions????? ----------------------------------------- 2013 (at Texas Tech): 8 games, 218/340 (64.1%), 2,315 yards, 12 TDs, 9 INTs, 127.7 rating #82 - out with injury ------------------------------------------- 2014- did not play due to then existing transfer rule. 2015 (at Oklahoma): 13 games, 269/395 (68.1%), 3,700 yards, 36 TDs, 7 INTs, 173.3 rating 4th in the nation Jared Goff #10 - 161.2 Deshaun Watson #13 - 156.3 Patrick Mahomes #32 - 147.3 ------------------------------------------------ 2016 (at Oklahoma): 13 games, 254/358 (70.9%), 3,965 yards, 40 TDs, 8 INTs, 196.4 rating lead the nation Patrick Mahomes? 157.0 ---------------------------------------------------- 2017 (at Oklahoma): 14 games, 285/404 (70.5%), 4,627 yards, 43 TDs, 6 INTs, 198.9 rating lead the nation
Great video - Thanks! Amazing how good Baker plays when he's Not Injured! Do the "expert talking heads" have a 5 minute memory capacity? With the 1-31 Browns, he took them to defeat the Steelers in Pittsburg in a Play Off game. Then he gets injured, browns play him anyway the rest of the season instead of sitting him out, and the assasination "narrative" is created void of the facts. The shameless media is at it again with Bryce Young. I hope he goes to a good team next
Glad you enjoyed! 👍 I’m also curious to see what’s next for Bryce Young. From the outside looking in, doesn’t seem like there’s a worse possible situation for a young quarterback to be in than what he’s gone through Obviously different in their own ways, but it does definitely remind you of what Baker has gone through over the years prior to arriving in Tampa Bay
Nobody in my league drafted baker, this one guy before 1st ween started, dropped and picked up baker like 3 times cause he was undecided. After the 1st game, put a $4 offer on him and his starting this week over burrow. Although bengaks has an easy linup, i have evans at WR1 and hope Baker will pass to him nofe
Crazy that even this year he’s so far down in the rankings despite the year he had in 2023. Nonetheless the pieces in the Mike Evans & Godwin to throw to every Sunday 😂
Small sample size, but they do seem far improved compared to last season. I can’t wait to see the difference Liam Coen makes for their offense and the production they can put together over 17 games
@@TheFootballDigest My only worry is the depleted defence, but Todd Bowles showed he can raise the level of play of just about anyone he puts in there. And he better against the high flying offence the Saints conjured out of nowhere.
Agreed. Its crazy what he was able to do holding Detroit to only 16 points without Kancey, Hayes, and even Vita Vea for half the game Defense is just as entertaining to watch as the offense
@@TheFootballDigesta lot of the veterans worked out on their own and came into training camp in great shape. They don't want to be the guy who showed up and disappointed their teammates with poor play due to laziness in the offseason. They will be tough to beat in the 4th quarter of many games. Baker and Evans took less money to keep the team together.
We won't loose no more than 4 games this year - most likely gonna split a win with Saints, Maybe Atlanta Also thst would be only 2,,The Cheifs will probably take us to the wire and we've already got an upset Victory that would have counted in the " 6 game lost" with Detroit,, we are smoking everybody else- not even the 49ers will beat us this year- nor Raevens
Us die hard Sooner fans always knew what he could do. Just needed receivers who could actually catch the ball... on a team with OBJ and Jarvis Landry, his most productive receiver was Rashard Higgins. If the Bucs would wise up and cut Rachaad White, they'd be truly terrifying.
Really hoping they at least see some improvement in the run game over the next few weeks Looks like it may be their Achilles heel yet again this year unfortunately
@@TheFootballDigest I like what I am seeing from Bucky Irving, I would expect the Bucs to change up Irving and White where White becomes the 3rd down back as a receiving option. The problem with our run game is still opening those lanes and winning those battles, it also does not help that Luke Goedeke was out against Detroit.
Agreed about Bucky. I liked him a lot going into the draft from what he did at Oregon And yeah, Rachaad is still very ideal as a receiving back, but with more time like you said I could definitely see them switching to Bucky as their primary back to see what he’s got
14-3 you heard it here! KC suck it! San Fran bite me! New Orleans get bent! And to the rest of the league, it's time for the Tampa Baker Bucs to bring it!
Bucs are gonna rout the Broncos. They're better than we think. If only Winfield, forget the other injuries, was healthy, we would have won by at least 10 pts. Baker has finally found his forever home!
I hope so. The fit with him and Tampa Bay felt right when he signed there last year, and it’s only looking like that partnership is going up from here Feel like Liam Coen is only going to elevate their play immensely on offense
I feel the same way. By around the halfway point of this season, I expect them to not be making the same simple mistakes we’ve seen through the first couple of weeks If they’re winning games like this without their offense being fully in stride, I can’t wait to see what it looks like full force by seasons end

Agreed. You always had to think he still had this in him. Glad Tampa Bay was able to pull it out
Previously, this should be the let down season for Baker. I couldn't be happier that he is making Tampa Bay a real force in the NFC, and should enjoy a winning season with a playoff appearance. For the detractors in Northeast Ohio, eat shit!
It is crazy how taking a chance on him last year with a 1yr/$4M deal has turned into what it has with him arguably playing better than any other quarterback in football right now
Small sample size in just 2024, but very curious to see how he does over the course of this year with Liam Coen
If he can maintain his pace of a minimum of two tuddies a game, then he will do better this year statistically. We have some tough opponents this year though
Very true. Philly, Baltimore, Kansas City and San Francisco in the next month or so
Gonna be a good test to see what this team can do
im excited to see how they utilize all our weapons w/ this new playbook, but last week’s win was a Todd Bowles masterclass! our defense did not miss a beat even w/ 3 starters out
no lie when Baker first signed w/ us, i was not on board. but we had so much dead cap from restructuring Brady’s deal we had no choice. now im all in. hes the perfect leader for this team. overlooked & underrated much of his career, jst like the rest of our ragtag group. GO BUCS
Could not agree more with you about the defense. Was absolutely insane seeing what they did against Detroit so short handed
If Bowles keeps that production up on that side of the ball, hard to see Tampa losing many games if Baker and the offense at least has an adequate game like we just saw
defense also held up the lions to only 16 points...
And with the injuries they’d been dealing with…crazy
He's loosening up, he's evolving really fast! I'm loving seeing these bold plays! The problem continues to be our defense! Did you see the last game against the Falcons? In Overtime! What a leaky defense, more than a sieve?
🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️
Defense played phenomenal
Doing what they did against Detroit with the key injuries they played through was crazy
Baker’s gonna bake
That he is
Mayfield is the best nfl style qb I've ever watched.
So entertaining to watch. Especially when he’s thriving in an offense catered to his playstyle like this
Been Bucs fan many decades.
Right. You can already see in the details both how much more extensive the playbook under Coen is, and how much more improved that offense could potentially be with it
14-3 Super Bowl contenders
No doubt about being a contender. If they keep this pace up, no reason to think they won’t be one of the top seeds in the NFC
Feel like the NFL is more wide open this season than it’s been in years
Excellent coverage. Suggest going back to Lake Travis days and following from Browns to Rams (
I appreciate you! Glad you enjoyed 👍
Thank god he got out of bum ass Cleveland and Carolina
Insane what a change of scenery (and coaching) can do for a guy..
@@TheFootballDigestMakes you wonder if Bryce Young can still be saved?
Just take a look at bake avoiding sacks in the pocket all season last year. Spinning out of for sure sacks and throwing a completion. Dude got really good at it and it really came out last year, and it's still rolling
As a Bucs fan going to that first game vs Washington. Sure, Washington defense is very suspect but the offense looked good from the year before. Baker looks comfortable and the timing with his wrs are in sync. Just gotta see more consistency week to week from a year ago but this offense looks good so far.
I think with learning Liam Coen’s new offense, they’re definitely going to have their slight struggles like we’ve seen on certain plays
But by the time we hit the halfway point of this year, I think their offense is going to be far more effective through the air than it was last year.
Couldn’t agree with you more. Coaching making all the difference in the world for him in Tampa
We tried our entire damn playbook at Hutch and NOTHING was working. Wins like this make me believe we can make a serious run.
Dude is straightup Bakin'.
Baker always gonna bake
I won’t lie, with baker playing like this, If the Bucs even have a middle of the road rushing game, they are serious contenders.
100%. Sadly looks like it’s gonna be a glaring weak spot for them again..
Small sample size but we’ll see if it can improve over the next couple of weeks. Hope I’m wrong
Hutchinson went off for 5 sacks cause our starting tackle Luke Godeke highly rated on PFF was out with a concussion💯
The fact they still pulled out the win despite that is easily one of the craziest parts about that game
I've been defending baker for 5 years. At last, he finally has the handcuffs off and is able to show people who don't know football what he's about.
Oh were not gettong Cleveland Browns Baker Mayfield. We're getting BOOMER SOONER BAKER MAYFIELD
He’s baaaaaaaack
A very sharp cutlass in the tall beach grass....HAPPY INTERNATIONAL TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY!
Very ironic that it’s today 😂
Imagine if they had a decent run game!
I’m really hoping for the sake of their success they get the ground game rolling over the next few weeks
Looking like it might be their weak spot again 😅
@@TheFootballDigest They need to start Bucky
Might get to that point sooner rather than later honestly..
I'm happy for Mayfield ever since Browns did him wrong. Glad that he finally found his home.
If he can stay healthy then he probably will be very good but there is a question on how long he can stay healthy in that position.
i mean cooper kupp is a top 5 receiver when healthy it's not a negative against Detroit as it's them facing 2 elite receivers in their first 2 games.
Valid point. It is a small sample size, but like you said Godwin has a history of being much more productive in the slot compared to split far out
Very curious to see how much of his high production against Detroit will keep up 👍
Ironic too that Liam Coen is coming from the Los Angeles Rams, where he’s taken over a similar offense that had Kupp thriving in the slot as well with his time there
Can’t wait to see if he can do the same and potentially get Godwin a career year with what he draws up
@@TheFootballDigest I agree with you on these points. Just have to hope he can stay healthy getting hit over the middle all the time.
Throwing over the middle more frequently was something Coen said prior to the season was gonna be emphasized a lot more in this offense
Just two weeks in, you can definitely see he wasn’t kidding lol
Baker the GOAT W Video
I appreciate you 💪 really glad you enjoyed!
He should have been come back player of the year last year. This year he's playing like he should be MVP
It is insane to consider they won this game despite the numbers, nonetheless the injuries they had across the board like you mentioned
If they can win games like that, hard to think they ain’t winning the NFC South yet again this year
He’s him
I’m just waiting for this team to settle into this new offense
Might see a whole new level from them down the road
Should not be able to do this? Who said that? Who told you that? Put Baker in a system with reliable players and he can play like a Formula One racer. Don't believe me? Look at his college stats at Oklahoma.
Baker Mayfield had the highest QB rating: 198.9 (2017) and 196.4 (2016). Was in the top 4 in all 3 seasons he played in every game. Had he been drafted by a decent team like Kansas City the whole makeup of the NFL might look different. Any questions?????

Thats my QB
Great video - Thanks! Amazing how good Baker plays when he's Not Injured! Do the "expert talking heads" have a 5 minute memory capacity? With the 1-31 Browns, he took them to defeat the Steelers in Pittsburg in a Play Off game. Then he gets injured, browns play him anyway the rest of the season instead of sitting him out, and the assasination "narrative" is created void of the facts. The shameless media is at it again with Bryce Young. I hope he goes to a good team next
Glad you enjoyed! 👍
I’m also curious to see what’s next for Bryce Young. From the outside looking in, doesn’t seem like there’s a worse possible situation for a young quarterback to be in than what he’s gone through
Obviously different in their own ways, but it does definitely remind you of what Baker has gone through over the years prior to arriving in Tampa Bay
As a Bucks fan, I know week three Broncos game. I know we’re winning that that’s all I want to say.
I would have to agree, but I’ll check back with you on Sunday 😂
All right
Well, I guess I was wrong
Nobody in my league drafted baker, this one guy before 1st ween started, dropped and picked up baker like 3 times cause he was undecided. After the 1st game, put a $4 offer on him and his starting this week over burrow. Although bengaks has an easy linup, i have evans at WR1 and hope Baker will pass to him nofe
Crazy that even this year he’s so far down in the rankings despite the year he had in 2023. Nonetheless the pieces in the Mike Evans & Godwin to throw to every Sunday 😂
Look at all the talent he has?? Go Bucs
Evans and Godwin are obviously great, but I’m really curious to see what McMillan can potentially do for them down the stretch of the next few years
Baker is a dawg. Let him off the leash. If Baker had this team last year, they would've gone to the SB.
Agreed. Its crazy what he was able to do holding Detroit to only 16 points without Kancey, Hayes, and even Vita Vea for half the game
Defense is just as entertaining to watch as the offense
Note Baker starts with right foot back like Rodgers
Great point
Shake.N Bake Show...Starring the entire team
This video didn't age well! Baker is good and Todd is good. They will win more than they lose but that's about it.....😊
Today was definitely an abrupt change for them
They got a gauntlet of a schedule coming up. Curious to see how they come out of the other side of it
Hutchinson played against a non-starter btw
wouldn’t be surprised if he wins mvp honestly
At this pace, absolutely
Definitely gonna be going out of my way to watch this team for the rest of this season
Always been a fan of Baker. We always knew he was a bad ass quarterback. Cleveland is to stupid. They didn’t deserve him anyway.
12-5
Baltimore, Kansas City & San Francisco over the next few weeks gonna be major tests for this team
13-4
Top 3 seed undeniably if they get to that
Baker almost got Killed against the LIONS 😮😮
Skip Bayless is feeling vindicated.
😂
He’s starting to look like Sooners Baker👨🍳
NFL ain’t ready for a consistent Sooner Baker
6-4 going into the bye. Finish 10-7 11-6 area
I am very interested to see how they fare against Philly, Baltimore, Kansas City & San Francisco in the coming weeks
NFC South matchups gonna be more entertaining than they’ve been in years this season it seems
POV:Broncos defense
Denver defense making me look like a fool lol
Bake show is better than mahomes all through college he jst needed a good team
Shame it took this long for it to happen, but awesome to see him performing like this nonetheless
Let him Bake
Shaking snd baking every sunday
He is the baker baker i remember...
Getting back to his roots. Love to see it
Baker always ends up doing Baker stuff. Don't get overconfident.
the Browns screwed up big time
Always crazy to me how big of a difference coaching and a change of scenery can make for a quarterback
W VID
Appreciate you 👊
Shake and Bake
Shaking and baking more than ever before with how much he’s scrambling so far this year lol
Does Baker Mayfield remind anybody of Steve Young?
Never thought of that comparison personally, but I honestly can see it with you now mentioning it
@@TheFootballDigest - Young may have been a hair more polished but Mayfield has a lot of the same gifts!
& Baker still got a LOT of ball left in him. Can’t wait to see what he continues to develop into down the road in Tampa
And Bakers still got a LOT of ball left in him. Can’t wait to see what he further develops into down the road with Tampa
Baker was always good Canales didnt do shit
Can’t wait to see if Liam Coen can take them up to the next level offensively
Us die hard Sooner fans always knew what he could do. Just needed receivers who could actually catch the ball... on a team with OBJ and Jarvis Landry, his most productive receiver was Rashard Higgins.
If the Bucs would wise up and cut Rachaad White, they'd be truly terrifying.
Really hoping they at least see some improvement in the run game over the next few weeks
Looks like it may be their Achilles heel yet again this year unfortunately
@@TheFootballDigest I like what I am seeing from Bucky Irving, I would expect the Bucs to change up Irving and White where White becomes the 3rd down back as a receiving option. The problem with our run game is still opening those lanes and winning those battles, it also does not help that Luke Goedeke was out against Detroit.
Agreed about Bucky. I liked him a lot going into the draft from what he did at Oregon
And yeah, Rachaad is still very ideal as a receiving back, but with more time like you said I could definitely see them switching to Bucky as their primary back to see what he’s got
Is it me or does Rashad seems slow af as a running back,,we have line backers that arw faster then him ...
@@bigmazem3 he is not a very good running back. Rarely makes it out of the backfired when carrying the ball.
Not even the best QB in the NFC south (Bryce young)
14-3 you heard it here! KC suck it! San Fran bite me! New Orleans get bent! And to the rest of the league, it's time for the Tampa Baker Bucs to bring it!
Can’t wait to see where they are at years end
Bucs are gonna rout the Broncos. They're better than we think. If only Winfield, forget the other injuries, was healthy, we would have won by at least 10 pts. Baker has finally found his forever home!
I hope so. The fit with him and Tampa Bay felt right when he signed there last year, and it’s only looking like that partnership is going up from here
Feel like Liam Coen is only going to elevate their play immensely on offense
9-11 win range I only watch bucs for 4 yrs but we not Super Bowl contender we waste to many downs on are readable run plays😂 . Our playbook sucks
They're learning a new offense. They're thinking more than reacting. They'll be really good by the second half when they all get on the same page.
I feel the same way. By around the halfway point of this season, I expect them to not be making the same simple mistakes we’ve seen through the first couple of weeks
If they’re winning games like this without their offense being fully in stride, I can’t wait to see what it looks like full force by seasons end
14-3
17-0
