Great video mate I really appreciate the different perspective of the two bikes you have done. As I’m in the market for a DRZ400 but have recently come across the WF250 and that bike has really caught my eye lately.
Another great and highly detailed video! Thanks for telling us you’re WR250R bar, riser, cables, throttle flip over maneuver and foot pegs you’re using. I’m guessing I’ll do the same thing with my bars, risers and cables. Thanks again for all that you do!
This was the best comparison video I have ever viewed. I have owned 2 drz 400s and I have tested ridden and almost purchased a low mileage wr250r. This video provides the best information about the wr250r I've ever seen on RUclips. It makes me want to get a wr250r. Please keep up the great work!
Thanks guys I really appreciate the feedback and kind words! And Karl thanks for checking out and leaving a comment on pretty much every video I put out! You’re a legend!
Whenever I ride one I eventually start missing the other. I think I might just buy a drz as a second bike alongside my wr250r. Awesome in depth video btw
Thanks for the video! I recommend to everyone who is faced with the choice of which motorcycle to choose. I own a DRZ400S myself and plan to change to a WR250R. Only because the gearbox in the DRZ400S (the first gear is too long and the fifth gear is too short) and with such a long first gear the sharp strong motor makes the DRZ400S often unsafe in technical situations
Awesome video, thanks! Really helped me decide between these two bikes that I've been struggling with. Appreciate all your insight! Currently have a '14 CRF250L but it's time for a change.
Im struggling a lot with my 08 WR in tight single track technical trails. Holding balance is tricky and when it starts to tip over, recovery is close to impossible. All this time I thought it just had to do with its sheer weight…. But after watching this video, I’m also having an “ah ha” moment. I ordered a 13/50 sprocket setup from Rocky Mountain. Hoping this can help out more and not require me to slip the clutch as much. To be continued.zz
As a guy who is also 6'7" and about 280, I really appreciate this video. I've had a bunch of street bikes and only a few dirt bikes (KTM 450 SXF, CR250, etc) and never felt like I fit well on a dirt bike. The closest to fitting well on a bike thats good off road is my current KTM 950 adventure. I guess I need to try out a WR250. Where in the country do you ride? Looks like a lot of fun.
I’m in the Midwest, and when modded, yeah it’s pretty comfy! Just rode some single track with it yesterday! The DRZ is pretty good when modded out too!
Thanks for the reply. I'm in the midwest, too. We ride atvs and sxs up in Mountain, WI and have been checking out some trails in MI too. One of these days I'll find a WR250 to throw a leg over. My cousin has a DRZ, but I've never ridden it. I've got some work to do.
Hi I own a wr250r and i agree great dual sport bike and you can get a big bore kit for the wr250r is fitting a big bore kit to the 250r worth the money and needed you think
I’ve ridden a klx250 which is identical except for engine displacement. They’re decent bikes for sure. With more power on the 300 I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one.
Wich bike would better climb big uphills? Would the wrr be handicapped by its lack of power despite its weight? Thank you. I ride off-road only znd I'm hesitating between those two.
@@Jollyswagman7 nah man send it, ride ADV Australia used a fleet of WR’s with gearing similar to yours and all their WR’s lasted about 40-60k miles, you’ll be fine

The best comparison between these two bikes to be found on the interweb. Period.
Really appreciate the honest review I've watched it like 4 times now and yeh thank you I own a wr250r and have no intention of selling safe riding

so which one was your decision?
Thanks for this.i still am having a hard time deciding. Wish i could ride them both
Just buy whichever one is cheapest! You can’t go wrong with either!

I love it. Good job. Thanks for sharing your videos with us
Amazing video. You tell us things I didn't see in another videos. Did you ride xr650r? Because it's my other option
Yes I have. Not a super good ride for super tall folk, very cramped. Very good bike otherwise.
Hi I own a wr250r and i agree great dual sport bike and you can get a big bore kit for the wr250r is fitting a big bore kit to the 250r worth the money and needed you think
I’d only get a big bore kit if the top end goes on your WR. If you want more power just buy a DRZ or something else.
Holy Cow you’re a Big Boy ! I think the Kawasaki KLX300R is better than both these 2 bikes now thoughts ? 🤔
Have you ridden a klx300? curious on your thoughts on one

DRZ probably because of its torque
I’m 6’5” but my extra height is mostly upper torso, 33” inseam. Stock foot pegs and seat ok on both of these bikes? Just adjust bars..?
I would just get some bar risers and call it good
@@OgreMoto cheers. Was just checking out the Honda 300L, seems like a really good option too
They're both tall. Just go for DRZ POWER!
That completely joyous laugh when things get sketchy
How'd you like the DR650?
For 50/50 riding it’s just about the best bike you can buy.
What gearing do you run man?
Stick on the DRZ and 14/49 on my 2008 WR and stock on my 2019 WR
@@OgreMoto Thanks for the response. I currently run 13f 47r on my wr250r and it’s really revy on the highway. I get scared I’m going to blow it up.😀

@@OgreMoto Awesome! thanks for your input. Great comparison by the way.
I enjoy your videos man, although I'm from India and can't buy any of the bikes that you talk about. 🤘
Thanks for watching even with your circumstances! I appreciate it!
Why not the WR 450.
Too high of maintenance, not factory street legal.
6'7"? Dudes gonna be rolling around a 1250gs like it's a dirt bike. Paul Bunyan going dirt biking. 😂
Funny thing is I actually rode a 1200gs at the tail of the dragon and it was super cramped lol.
