@woodbine66 Saniflo pumps don't "block up" they grind and basically liquefy everything. Sewage ejector pits "block up" and need to be "unblocked". Keeping the box in the wall is not an issue because you will have an access panel in the wall or the unit will be in a closet or another room behind the wall. The unit rarely if ever needs serviced anyway.
3:41 looks like Yon is holding 1 inch PVC... has to be 3/4 for the saniplus 3:48 - yikes I think I'd want a more permanent coupling there. with the 16" extension they are using, the manual says to raise the toilet 3/8"
This is a GREAT system, but, what if my sister-in-laws' little tike decided to flush e.g. wash cloth, small rubber Duckie or Grandma accidentally drops her specks, mobile phone, or sister-in-law flush her feminine pads, etc.? What then?? How does one access and remove foreign object?
Sounds great now. The novelty will soon wear off when it blocks up. Having to take a tank spilling shit everywhere out of the wall to try and unblock it isn't fun.
I've lived with these units for years in small basement flats and let me tell you they stink and become noisy. The theory is great but they are problematic. Landlords like them because they can squeeze in extra tennants in pokey basements but they do not have to live with these stinking machines. And what's more if you have power a outage you can not bath, wash or use the loo, so your flat then becomes uninhabitable. Avoid!
My parents have had one for a decade. It is loud (theirs is under the toilet not behind a wall), but it works well. I will be installing one in my basement.
I noticed that the outlet is a ground fault, and it’s on the inside of the wall. If it trips how are you gonna reset it??
This is cool, But what about access to the system if the motor needs repairs are replacement. I love the idea.
@hystat the manual that comes with the Saniplus states you can use 1" or 3/4" pipe.
So how does it get water ? I see it being flushed out by that one pipe but how does it fill back up

I have to wonder if the toilet was installed or vented properly and that is why it smelled.

@@AFractal probably not.. I fitted a vent pipe to the breather on top of the unit in my current flat myself and it is much less smelly.
