Dude thank you for posting this. I live near here and have been wanting to try a ride like this. I rode up to the state park and a bit of telegraph canyon. But i was uncomfortable going ahead on my own since I am unfamiliar with the trails and all that. Definitely gonna try this route Keep havin' fun out there!
Nice vid! always enjoy these ride along vids. I mark the prong things where the go pro and mount attach with a yellow board marker so it's in a good position.
I have been many times at Anaheim (convention center) but never realized these nice places were so near! Next time I come over I could buy a Diverge bike there and maybe go on a trip in Carbon Canyon (would go well with a cabon bike :) with you! Nice video!
Hello! Cool video. I just recently subscribed to your channel. I'm in Orange County too. Just wondering how the heck you got your Diverge? I've been calling around the local bike shops and they have been back ordered. Now I've ridden the Santa Ana River trail to the Greenwood golf course on my road bike. I've also ridden up Blackstar from Irvine on my road bike. I've heard there is a trail called Skyline which is the backside of Blackstar and drops into Corona. Is that trail rideable with a gravel bike? It would be cool to ride from Irvine up Blackstar, down Skyline and then make my way onto the Santa Ana River trail and back to Irvine. Just trying to connect the dots. Looking forward to more of your gravel videos. Btw, I think you need to position your gopro looking up more. Most of the video it is looking straight at your handlebars.
Thanks! I’ve seen some bits of black star cyn. Will have to do some exploring to connect those trails. I know.. the GoPro aiming.. Gotta step it up. As far as getting the Diverge - just lucky. Ordered back in May, perhaps before the full effect of the shortage.
After some serious consideration, I went 2x. I think it was the right choice for me, given that I use this as my road bike too. I'm planning the nerdiest of all videos soon, talking about the notorious 1x vs 2x debate, complete with... spreadsheets. Will probably lose a bunch of subs..
I did the same thing and ordered mine in May. I have a feeling this is the situation in most places. I live here in Japan and my local bike shop said any orders from July would be here around December.
Hey Bike Sauce. I did this route today. Super fun. The roads are pretty smooth and the south side of the trail makes for a fun long rolling downhill. I drove over from Irvine and just parked at Yorba Linda High School in order to minimize the road miles. FYI after I crossed the rail road track and got to the back of the golf course, there is a gate that is locked there. I had to lift my bike over and scoot under. Not sure if that was new since the fires. I ripped it through the parking lot just in case but no one said anything. LOL. Hope you post more ride routes and hope to see you out there sometime!
@@TheBikeSauce Do you know of an alternative exit route besides the Green River Golf area. They had a gate that was locked right after you go over the rail road tracks. Is there another way to go over to SART or Green
@@TheBikeSauce Hrm...I have an idea. Been studying Strava heat maps and googlemaps. When you get to Lower Aliso Canyon, where you turn right to take that straight road down towards the golf course, instead take a left. There seems to be a dirt path that goes through the Prado dam and eventually dumps onto Auto Center Dr. I'm working on a route to link Chino Hills with Skyline and Coal Canyon. Will have to test it out in the future to make sure there are no gates.
OK, so ignore my question about posting trails info on your other video :) This is awesome, I'm in Santa Ana and I think I can totally hop on this by heading up the Santa Ana River Trail, this is SUPER helpful. One more question, do you use that "Ride GPS" site to actually plot out your rides? Ive used a combination of google, Strava and MTB Project but even then it's a bit of exploration. Thanks again!
Cool! Glad you found it helpful. To plan rides, I use a combination of RWGPS and Google street view. Strava heatmaps are supposed to be helpful too, but I'm so picky (a wuss) about my routes, that I like to see street view on almost the whole route before I head out. Happy riding!
Nice ride. You are a very detailed guide. However, you should shave since your scraggly beard is very disturbing, clean up please. Chinese people don't need beards!
Thanks for the route, did this today liked all the “extra credit” dirt on the side of el cajon and Santa Ana trails!
Nice!
Really well documented ride. Everything you need to know about that ride!
Subbed .. was planning on riding from my house (near castlewood trail) to chino hills and back pretty soon. I like your route might try it out. ✌🏻
Would add a few extra miles on the Floop, but sounds like it'd be a great ride.

Genius. Will adopt that for sure
Loving your videos man. You should plan a ride along, obviously many of your viewers are also locals!
Right on. Rad Bike Adventure and I hd a ride planned, but then I injured myself 😆. We’re gonna get that ball rolling again
@@TheBikeSauce yessir it will be a great time!

Thx!
Man I miss riding there. Now in NorCal, but did that ride last year on my Pivot Vault
Nice! I miss NorCal mtb. Born and raised there
Just like trading places 😂. I was born and raised in Fullerton, but now in the Folsom area.
Ha, right on!

@@TheBikeSauce Did you get the 1x or 2x? And hows that working out for ya?

I know what you mean, but I’m not sure about a go-around.

Nice!! Saw that on the map. Wasn’t sure it’d go through.
Thanks for posting! Would you have rather done this on a hard tail or full? Or even a front suspension on your gravel? Thanks man
Nice loop, I was just up to Four Corners for the first time last week.
Nice! Mtb or drop bar? Or.. drop bar mtb?
@@TheBikeSauce mtb, but on the way down, I did follow a guy on a drop gravel bike shredding it
Hitting this route tomorrow. Hopefully my defy will make it through lol
Nice! You’re defy will be great 👍 have fun out there!
Thanks for this man!!!! Soooo much fun! Did your route yesterday and absolutely loved it! First time out in that area
Great! Glad you found it useful!

About how long does this route take?
Mm, depends on the person of course. Probably 2.5 hours at a party pace if you don’t stop
Just finished! Great ride! Thanks for the route!
Yes! Was my time estimate close?
It took me 2 hours 50 min. Took my sweet time cuz I just started cycling. Now that I know the route next time I’ll try a little faster!
Congrats on picking up cycling! Keep it slow - it’s more fun that way 😀
