Great idea. The background is the tricky part. Do them on muslin, and it might be something you want on a dark fabric. Love making dragonflies!

Thank you as ever Corrine for the video. I love a Dragonfly, promise of sunny lazy days of summer stitching in the garden 😂😂 sorry laughing it is the UK,I will prepare for perhaps the one or two days we may get. I agree about the doilies, being new to slow stitch I thought it would be easy to pick up. They are, tons of on line shops labelled vintage and high price. I have bought a couple of slow stitch kits to get started. I am obviously not in the right charity shops. Love the dragonfly colours. I am going to try this and put it next to Marions moth. I love this idea of making embellishments.

I'm watching to the end. Loving your brain storming with multiple ideas that give options. I'm inspired to have a go. I have to be careful I don't end up with several things started and not finished because of all the awesome ideas accumulating in my brain. Thankyou.

Hi Lesley, I know what you mean about the crazy prices op shops are putting on all their items these days !!!! I live in Mollymook on the South Coast of NSW . I have also volunteered for the last 14 years at one of our ( big) local charities , I joined them in the first week of opening ( I'v recently had to give it up due to ill health 😢) I used to do lots of pricing & our customers always said it was great that our items were so cheap, we sold our clothing for $3 per item OR upto 5 items for $5 !!!!!!!!! We did that up until a few months ago).We had a good turnover of clothing that way, & our racks were always plentyful. But now ( due to new management) prices have gone up, but not as bad as the other charity in town who seem to have lost the plot with pricing ... unbelievable !!!
They obviosly DON'T have a good turnover of clothing !!!!!! I won't donate to that 'CHARITY 'anymore !!! What annoys me is the fact that ALL items are DONATED !!!! That particular chainof op shops are all the same now, up & down the Coast, they put a 'vintage' ( just means its old )tag on things & name their own price ........ so much for helping the poor !!!!!!! Sorry for the rant !!

Pretty cool. I’m trying not to watch as I sit here jabbing a very sharp barbed needle into a ball of fibre and my fingers, making a sample teddy for a needle felting class I’m teaching in March.

Would your grandma have put the clump of fibre down the centre of the thread spool to stick her needle in as she was working on a sewing piece

I volunteer for one of those BIG charities and they are very very expensive. I grab the odd thing as I get vollie discount but without that forget it. There's about 5 or 6 big ones that I can say are very very expensive, in SA they are crazy priced. You need to look for the little country op shops and the church based ones they are usually very good but makes me laugh when those from uk or usa say buy clothes to cut up, well here it's actually cheaper to buy 1/4m of fabric which is so sad 😐
