The Bagster - How Much Weight Will It Hold Before Breaking?

- In this video we take a look at a bagster full of rock, stone, block, and mortar. I outline the entire process of how the Bagster works from start to finish.
That's impressive! I've used them before but wondered how much they could take for my next big reno. It's funny they state the max weight you can put in the bag as if I know how much 3300lbs of renovation material looks like lol.
KILO993 exactly! They have to hold way more than advertised. Even if you were to know the exact weight of your debris, you wouldn’t be able to load it uniformly.
I used 2 of these on a house build and built a wooden 4x8x2.5 frame inside the bag to keep it's shape and filled it over the top with heavy tile and drywall and construction debris. I have no idea how much it weighed but it was HEAVY. I wasn't sure it was going to hold up but to my relief the 3rd party contractor who picked it up (and just pinched the straps with a claw) had no problem lifting it and getting it in the truck. There were even a few small holes that had punctured the bag. These things are amazing. I will continue to use them. Saved me a lot of money vs a traditional dumpster.
Awesome! Glad to hear it worked well for your application. They are certainly stronger than they appear at first.
Thank you for showing us the whole process! It’s $256 in my beach town and $35 per bag at a local Home Depot. I WISH it was only $110 here. I live in a beach town in Massachusetts
romepix sure, no problem. I am only about an hour from a Waste Management transfer station so that is probably why the price is much lower.
Us folks in Massachusetts always seem to get f*cked one was or another....LOL
Thank you for taking the time for this footage.

Just scheduled my pickup. Was worried that all the brick and mortar, wood and nails etc would rip the bag. This put my mind at ease.
I am glad it helped! Please like and subscribe!
I am blown away that burlap is so strong! I scheduled our pickup this week and I was worried about the weight of our old wood kitchen cabinets! 🤣
As you can see, no need to worry! If this video helped you out, please consider liking and subscribing if you haven’t already.
Thanks for posting this i was concerned about my pickup. Not anymore thx
Thank you so much, I will be using them very soon! Your video was so helpful...😊
thanks! answered a lot of questions

This makes me feel good, as I need to put two layers of tile from a 12 x 20' floor into one of these.
Awesome! As you can see, it shouldn’t be a problem. Thanks for watching!!
Damn I really was expecting a disaster but the guy didn't even blink so that tells you it would of held.
Thank you for such a great explanation.

Also.. it’s 48x96x32, when I HAVE to use one I build a frame inside so it’s a big cube, and when I’m done loading I zip tie the handles together
That’s an interesting idea!
Thank you so much!!
You're welcome!
Thats a Realy Nice System
Yes, it’s not bad at all as long as the pickup cost is reasonable.
thanks for the in depth video

impressive!
Impressive!
Bagster says heavy debris they only accept 1 cubic yard per bag. Do they enforce that?
In my area they do not seem to enforce that. Your area may vary.
Is this heavier than 3/4 of dirt?
@@isaiahchatman9904 I would say it is heavier for sure.
Thanks for posting this video. We just removed work out asphalt from a 25’ x 9.75’ asphalt swale and I was mortified at the thought of having the Bagster tear and have all the debris fall all over the street and sidewalk. 😵💫
Because if my anxiety, we ended up ordering a second Bagster to redistribute the weight after I read that Waste Management only recommends up to 10 inches of heavy material such as concrete, rock or asphalt per Bagster. We’ll see what happens.

Thanks man i do have less junk and concrete. Thanks 🙏 thanks 😊

I wonder if the crane has a load sensor?
On_The Road I don’t believe so. While it is sophisticated I am not sure that a load sensor would be able to adjust for the many variables. Although I don’t know all of the capabilities of a load sensor.
$200 + $30 here. Ridiculous. Last year a 20 yard dumpster was $300. Now 20 yard dumpster is $525. Out of control.
Jon M that’s crazy! May I ask what area you are from?
Cheaper if you do more bags at once
I just called for a 10 yard dumpster from cheapdumpsters.com and they will set a 10 yard down for you for $430.00 for 10 days and it can't weigh more than 1 ton...They charge $135.00 for every ton over... How the fuck does that fall under the category of cheap dumpsters???
@@Pewtooyou That sounds fair - if you're throwing away a 10 yard dumpster of packing peanuts.
@@jthalheimer137 Right!!!...lol
Yeah but u can fit way more in there than that some prices are higher in some areas
In my area (Southern NH) it's $195 for pickup.
Wow price for pick up in Delaware is now $255 😢
That’s crazy! It’s amazing how much the price for pick up varies based on location.
How much weight was that
If I have to guess, probably about 1.5 to 2 tons or so.
Thank you for the informative video. This W.M employee should have a safety Helmut and glasses on. Great hidden camera work. If this wasn't 2+ years old I would have written him up tomorrow :) Safety first guys..
If this comment wasn't 2+ years old I would have written you up on the correct spelling of helmet
How much weight you think you put in there?
Stian Roenning if I had to guess, I would say 2.5 to 3 ton.
If you had to guess what would you say that bag weighed
If I had to guess, I would say at least 2 tons if not 2.5 tons.
@@averagejoevideo9556 Thanks! Doing a small bathroom and thought I was pushing it until I seen your video LOL
Call your local dumpster company. Most likely a small roll off dumpster will be cheaper
Not even close for alot of people
Poor little chipmunk, RIP CHIPPY
my neighbors used this shit service and it has been an absolute disaster. 4 of these bags are full of garbage and have been sitting outside on the side walk with rumagers going through it for the past 5 days now and could be another 3 days before pick up.
might be impressive how much it holds but the service is garbage (haha) and the customer service is rude. i honestly cant recommend this service to anyone. this has been nothing but a major inconvenience.
i've been waiting a month for pickup urghhhhh keeps canceling pickup
Question I have to trash a whole storage shed but I’d have to tear it all down but after would a bagster be best or should I call a junk demo team and they just do it?
Your best option would be to find someone who will allow you to burn the wood. It all depends on your local regulations. In the case of a shed, you may find it cheaper to rent an actual dumpster and demo it yourself.
Wow; 5 bucks off? WM take the death grip off your wallet. Lol
Waste of money better to rent a dumpster big $ for sending a truck to pick it up
At the time, I paid less for the bagster including pickup than it cost to rent a small dumpster. Many dumpster rentals require a minimum tonnage. You have to look at all of your options based on the prices for your area.
@@averagejoevideo9556 Can you tell how much you paid for this load? Thank you
