Been practicing deflects for so long now I often react too fast to lights, which encourage opponents to feint gb me. My point is, don’t try to deflect everything even you are able to react to it. And just like the video says, watch your opponents’ animation but you should also overlay the indicator on the movement as a whole image. I’m on console by the way.
Another tip I know is to turn off indicators when you’re learning, as you’re forced to watch the animations and know when it’s about to hit you so you can dodge when you need to easier

You seem like a PC player not console player,, it is nearly impossible to react to lights for most of characters especially orochi,,, even blocking sometimes based on reads not reacts,,, to be fair blocking is the easiest way but you don't see alot of parries or deflects on console except for very very talented player and he sees through your move and pattern not on reaction
Are you a console player,, if you are you would know that on console you are playing on 30fps while in pc is more than 60fps,,so you csn literally see the attack and indicator better,, thats why for honor is a different game in pc

I have 165 + reps on console and 8 on PC. I am a console player. It's totally possible to react to their attacks but connection issues definitely can mess you up
Shinobi is very tricky and unbalanced... I have been tryna train for deflects, but it is such a mess because of the timing. The light attacks are so fast and random, I just can’t learn the damn character.

You have to go into the opponents settings and change his attacks to heavy attacks only. Also when you deflect you don't have to press anything you just have to dodge into the attack at the right time other than dodging you don't have to press anything to activate the deflect, but after the deflect has began press whatever button is required to attack for that character. Shinobi is the only character that doesn't require you to press anything when you perform a deflect you just have to dodge into the attack at the right time
you cant deflect backwards but other than that yes just dodge into the attack on parry timing and you’ll deflect. each assassin has different punishes so after deflect, with shaman you press light, glad you press heavy, shinobi you press guardbreak etc…

I feel like deflects are harder on console when I play on Xbox you have to guard in a direction the take your thumb off the guard stick to press A and dodge and reflex guard lasts for like 3 seconds
You can change your controller settings. I play on ps4 and I've changed my controller settings so that I use L3 for dash and R3 for gb. I also put feint on Lbumper so I can use all of my character without moving my thumbs off the sticks.
Nahhh bro i learned to deflect with berserker by myself. I spend hours in training facing every character in the roster one by one. What does help is learning their hit patterns for example centurion tends to hit side lights compared to other ones but learning their hit combo gives u an idea of what to expect. The next step is then being able to react to it in time ( experienced players make it harder because if they read u n start fainting now u can't deflect its happened to me often in 1v1) lmk if this shit helped i never found a video to properly explain it but i learned myself n trynna show yall. The rest falls into place after. You reacted To that move so much in training with that character or opponent that your main instinct isnt to parry the attack but to deflect it

Dodge into the arrow. The arrow will come from which ever way the attack is coming from.Then press the light attack button. This should make you perform a delfect
You just dodge into the attack and push whatever button your deflect is. If it’s a heavy then you push heavy if it’s a light then you push light. Simple
You want to press A when the attack is incoming this will activate the deflect but with almost all characters you are going to have to press either RB or RT to initiate an attack except for Shinobi it automatically attacks for you once you have activated the deflect for him.

When the enemy attack and the arrow turns red wait a milisecond to sparkle with white, and then dogde at that direction of the attack, and quickly click in the button of your light or heavy attack. It's hard to catch that moment, you need to be fast. I'm still learning it.
