Thank you for this invaluable information. If I ever need to use junk silver to buy with it is nice to know what my silvers value is compared to the goods I’m buying. Thanks again.
I stopped buying junk silver a while back because the premiums are too high. I don't subscribe to the "fractional silver" argument because the premiums are too high for that too. A lot of junk silver is heavily worn, which isn't taken into account by the $22xface method of purchase. So I guess that makes more junk silver for you guys to buy. 😀
i was worried because yesterday I had heard that constitutional silver had gone way up in price compared to what it was. I have to buy some half dollars in March and I was prepared to pay $12.50 a piece for them at an LCS but if they are much more than that, I don't know what I will do
Don't you just divide the face value of any amount of junk silver by 1.40 to determine how much silver you have and then multiply that figure by the spot price to know how much the silver you have is worth? Have I been doing it wrong all this time?
@@SmartSilverStacker So if I have a 1.40 face value that would be 1 ounce silver? so I could sell that for spot price or do I sell it for spot price plus the 1.40 of the face value? Like say its 24.00 dollars ounce do I sell it for the 24.00 spot price plus the 1.40 face value I would get 25.40 is that how it works? thanks

You should be able to find a slightly better deal than that, it looks like 22x face value is about the going rate with online dealers at the moment.
It's 44 X face to buy & 22 X face when sold to lcs/pawn shops
Today i received a half dollar from 1918 Denver. I live in Switzerland and american junk silver is not so easy to find for me.

Assume you don’t consider old silver dollars as junk silver
Junk silver ain't junk! It's Constitutional. Period.
I have a silver quarter 1954 how much is it worth
Silver dollars are .7734 ounces per coin of silver. Not .77734 ounces of silver per silver dollar.
whoops, got excited with my 7s. Thanks for letting me know!
(Spot x 0.9) + premium = price

Just buy pure silver. Stop wasting your time. In fact buy gold. Silver is just copper2.
