"Brooklyn's Wigwam" - wow! talk about "Signs of the Times"! right along with those "manly men" smoking Chesterfield's while discussing there best ideas.
Jack Webb was able to sell Liggett & Myers- the makers of Chesterfield King, L&M, Oasis, et. al.- this series because of his track record on "DRAGNET" {they sponsored him on radio and TV for a decade}. Unfortunately, the ratings for "THE D.A.'s MAN" weren't that great- and Jack decided he was working himself too hard acting, producing, directing *and* supervising the scripts for "DRAGNET", and producing one series too many in the 1958-'59 season [including "PETE KELLY'S BLUES"]. He decided to concentrate on directing movies for the next several years. Liggett & Myers continued to sponsor other programs (including "GUNSMOKE", for L&M).
Great to see these old shows. Thanks.
Good episode! Love watching these shows! Love seeing those old commercials too!
