Helloooooo I would really love it if you could check out my Hozier cover trying to build up my @Luscent_music sub count and I'd really appreciate your support 🥺👉👈 love you guys 🥰 ruclips.net/video/Nl25eGOn5xg/видео.htmlsi=4julRuF0onlDyFDP
empire now is about ireland gaining its independence! (about 100 years ago). also, wildflower and barley is about the spring of 2020, which I feel like gives it so much context (getting back to nature, but also feeling useless, death imagery, the grass and the streets being lonely, etc.)
I think Too Sweet is another one of those Hozier songs that sounds loving but actually subtly roasts the other person 😂 He recently said its about someone who is ’too sweet to be savoury’ meaning someone who is sweet to the point of insincerity. They act like they’re angelic and sort of have this ’holier than thou’ attitude while looking down on simple pleasures like staying in bed late. And I think the song is basically him saying: Well, you’re trying to be so perfect and flawless that I don’t think is going to work because I accept my flaws and you don’t accept yours nevermind mine
@@LuscentI love Hozier so much but he needs to step up his marketing bc no one really knew about this other than some crazy obsessed stans (like myself)
So Andrew has shared that the four songs on Unheard were alternate tracks to different circles of hell in the Unreal Unearth album (Too Sweet - Gluttony, Wildflower & Barley - Limbo, Empire Now - Violence, Fare Well - Ascent) that almost made the album, but ended up left off for different reasons. You should watch his explanations on the songs on the EP - it will make you appreciate them even more! For example Wildflower & Barley is very much rooted in the stillness of the early days of the pandemic and Empire Now is about the 100 years of Irish independence. Just astounding lyricism! Glad you love Fare Well - it is my favourite too!
I loved all of them, and too sweet is the one I've played the most but my favorite HAS to be wildflower and barley. It's so soothing and his voice meshes so beautifully with Allison Russell's.
Unreal Unearth is actually from Wildflower and Barley! If you listen closely in one of the later choruses he says "I feel useful as dirt, unreal unearth" which i personally was very excited about
I loved your reaction when you got the "if you could sit in a barrel" line 😂 My absolute favourite of the 4 is Fare Well, but Empire Now is so delightfully stomp-clap-y and powerful that it's my favourite to yell-sing in the car ❤
Omg you’ve got to react to some more of hoziers covers and bonus tracks!! Like: say my name, be (acoustic), tell it to my heart, shrike live at windmill lane studios, Swan upon Leda (I can’t Remember if you’ve done that one already) and why would you be loved. He has so many more too.
Aaahhh you’re amazing! I love when Hozier gets recognition, this EP is UNREAL. I love every single song, naturally, but Fare Well is my fave one if someone forced me to pick one 💕 Also, your voice is beautiful! Enjoy the concert in summer, he’s even more UNREAL live (yes, puns intended) ❤️
Fare Well is my favorite too! The other songs from the ep are great too but like you said I think it’s the contrast that makes it stand out and he does these happy sounding songs so well. Like they’re happy and kind of devastating at the same time. Soooo good!
As if you sir think you're not clever!? In your initial reaction to Unreal Unearth you picked up on some things I never did before even after understanding the whole circles of hell concept! Intuitive interpretation takes incredible skill and instinct.
i especially LOVE your reaction and analysis of Fare Well, it's my favourite song of the EP and you are right about that joyous feeling it inspires despite the devastating lyrics (kitten-cosy-in-the-engine ype of wouldn't fare well? andrew you are SICK). it kind of reminds me of your reaction to To Noise Making (Sing) that it's one of my favourites and most people rank very low. i really really vibe with your reactions! and he released another song TODAY, i'm going insane, you guys want anything?
"A dog deep into the chocolate kind of wouldn't fare well" makes me almost tear up. It's like the dog is just having a treat, trying to enjoy itself not know that it's actually hurting itself so badly. I walk the line between Fare Well and Empire Now for my favourite song on the EP
W&B feels like it was written about my life in April/May 2020. I was an essential worker. A lot of my work was in the city. The weather was great. Where you’d usually have people sitting by the canal sipping pints, there was nobody. Nobody on the streets. Horrible time but this song soothes it.
ahhhh love this 💕 also Allisson Russell’s album The Returner from last year is an amazing listen. I would highly recommend. Especially her songs Eve Was Black, The Returner (title track), and Persephone.

Exactly - the sun never sets on the British empire.

too sweet is named after something said in ireland, “ too sweet to be savory” or an unsavory person
I know everyone loves Too Sweet, but Empire Now is my favorite one and I also adore Fare Well! They're soooo good

songs like But the wages, Blood, I could be yours deserve so much more recognition
@@CnmnVxnomg blood and wages are my favourite unreleased songs. They are SO GOOD
Sweet Thing, Do I Wanna Know, Lay Me Down, Jackboot Jump, To Be Alone (live at Kilkenny Ballroom), In Your Own Sweet Time

Lucsent: what a joyous song
Narrator: it was not
Lol
my favorite is fare well, and wildflower and barley is a close second... i think. it's so hard to chose haha i love them all so much
plot twist now he released another song (Why Would You Be Loved) just as you release this lmao
you must've not been on social media lately to not hear too sweet yet 😂 everyone's been using it as a tiktok audio
I’ll also be at the London gig! See you there 😊
Also!! I really love Allison Russell and if you get a chance you should listen to her two albums! She's also an incredible lyricist.
but what about the beeeelllllls in Too sweet, I find it so conflicting. Even though he's saying, your too sweet. THe FUCKING BELLS.
I know right, the death knell bells that sound like wedding bells is so unhinged
So when is the Unaired reaction 👀
It's out babe!
