Chasing 2.5m of Flattys - Flathead Fishing - Hastings River

The tide is turning. Hunter is now taking me fishing. He and his mate Logan are starting to get a reputation for catching Flattys so I wanted to see what the fuss was about. I’m a little bit old school and partial to a fresh bait so taking on the lure scene is a bit daunting. The goal was to catch 5 Flattys with a combined length of 2.5m in a half day session. We ended up with 20+ August Flattys (about 10-12 at legal size). All the fish were released. We will continue searching for the Metery!
