In this video we will show you how to fix misfire on Ford EDGE. If you have misfire and you replaced the ignition coils, spark plugs, checked wiring and no matter what you do the misfire is still present then we have the solution for you. This is a common problem on ford Edge from 2007 to 2019. The problem is in the car computer ECU. A coil driver burns and causes the misfire. We demonstrated how to fix misfire on 2009 Ford Edge with the 3.5 engine.

Thank you so much for this video! I was really concerned because I had already dumped $3k USD into tuning up my Edge, then this randomly started happening while coasting down the highway.
I was lucky, all I had to do was disconnect my battery for 30 seconds & it hasn’t misfired since then. Good to know that it’s a faulty ECM and that it can be sent in for repair.

You didn’t move the coil to another plug to verify whether it’s the coil or something else? I have the misfire with a new coil and it follows the coil to the plug i attach it to. how does that conclude the ecm is bad?

If you took the battery cables off then It won't show a check engine light because you reset the memory? You will need to run the engine cycles for about 80-100+ miles

Is it 2011 Ford Edge 3.5 front-wheel drive had a mis-fire code of cylinder 4? This car has all new plugs, all new coils. A new injector in #5. Had to replace both catalytic converters because they were damaged. New fuel pump. Good compression. Idles good but under a load, i was losing cylinder 5. And eventhough its cylinder 5, it pops and thats why they changed the fuel pump. The car is from Pennsylvania but its in real good conditions; Bodywise and interior, and the engine isnt too bad. I belive it might be the computer. The driver is heating up. What do you recommend?

2010 Ford Edge Limited AWD is Spark Plug #5 is the center (3:48)? Shop replaced all parts like from this video but misfired P0122/P0174/P0205/P0223/P0305/P2110 with check engine light comes on after 12 miles.

Is this the same Ford Edge with the same misfire problems that you have been working with the whole time? It started out by replacing the spark plugs the ignition coils the camshaft sensor and the fuel injectors??? And you finally figured out that it was the PCM??? I'm just asking because so far in my Ford Edge I have fixed new spark plugs new ignition coils and have taken it to two shops and one of the shops told me that my PCM is frying. I'm just wondering because you're misfires sound kind of similar to how a mine was. The misfires kept switching up to different cylinders and sometimes going the way and changing. Trying to get this crap fixed without literally killing my pockets and I have already spent almost $500 trying to figure out what's wrong with it and a lot of that is doing the work myself and taking it to two shops and getting Diagnostics done

I have a 2013 Ford Edge 3.5 L and I have a P0305 code that just won’t go away! I have replaced the plugs, coils, injectors, o2 sensor, MAF sensor, Purge valve sensor and finally the ECU. I still have the P0305 code coming on. Any suggestions?

Never connect positive battery cable last. Hydrogen builds up in a battery as it charges at the positive post. You risk exploding the battery when it sparks. Always connect positive first.

Replaced my coil packs and spark plugs and sent my computer to the repair shop that’s mentioned and computer was fine. Still getting p0301 code. Running out of ideas to what is causing my intermittent misfires.
I got the computer fixed and it worked great for a while. Now I have the same code (301). If you have found anything out please comment back.

Changed plugs wires coils injectors and new computer still misfire
Here's one for anyone who could help, replaced plugs coils AND PCM and still misfires at idle only up to 1500 rpm or cruising in 6th cylinder balance test shows cylinder A(1) showing wayyyyy off, cylinder B(2) is about half the other cylinders

@jesusislord yes actually, part of my wire harness was laying on the engine and had melted the signal wire going to the coil, it was passing electricity through the aluminum valve cover to complete the circuit, had plenty of wire left so I chopped new ends and soldered it together haven't had an issue since

We changed the cylinder one fuel injector & fixed everything got rid of the shaking
What if I change the injector and still the same

Check the cylinder compression. You could have a broken valve.
same here.i have a 2007 MKZ and I gave it gas to pass a car and it popped could so , I replaced all plugs and coils and pcm ..this year 2007 has tsb..says to replace everything so I did..still runs rough.chsnged massive air flow ..So I'm thinking it's in the wires as I'm getting po 305 and po174 .
and my compression is good
