Like this comment if you think Rana deserves middle couch privileges #JusticeForRana
Rana is the only one truly dialed into the show. Middle couch, indeed! Glorificus is the best Big Bad of the series! I said what I said.
The show and its themes are maturing fast. Rana in the center would be a huge win because she is genuinely invested and can drive deep conversations.
If we move Rana and her stupid hair, we need to move Spidey too. Nobody else is immune to her excited shoving.
YOU NEVER REACTED TO BORUTO RIGHT?
Of course she does!
But then again I am really bias here. I think Rana deserves the world. And the middle of the couch kinda is in the world. 🤷🏻♂
Rana's been right all season, and now suddenly she messed up and owes Mickey 100 bucks. She really has a talent for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. 😂
LMAO
I’m so glad they added Rana to the Buffy-watching-couch this season. I missed her little-sister energy when we were doing 1-4.
ROFL this is gold - Rana
At last, JUSTICE FOR RANA! I have been waiting since ep1 for you guys to watch this one. She was so on it from the beginning.
Justice for her denial?
@@jevonk she was the first to say Dawn wasn’t in the previous seasons. Only Mickey seems to remember her background shots
Spidey was with her too, yet none of the comments mention him
@@wildanimal3737 he’s a gem
I too was waiting .
"Stop letting her whoop you" Chris thats not how fights work. Sometimes a person is faster and stronger than you, doesnt mean youre letting it happen lol
In their defense the choreography at the time was limited. When Buffy just stands there staring at someone walking up to punch her for a good five seconds it doesn't really convey "she's too fast for her".
@@anothervagabondyeeeah the change in choreography and stunt actor and stunt director really hindered the action in my opinion, but on the upside it meant more shots of Sarah fighting going forward.
@joshuarutterbush9559 Oh my God yes. I'm thinking in a particular s6 episode where the choreo is so bad the sword is like 12 to 18 inches behind the falling body. And nobody EVER talks about it because of the other major thing about that episode
I love the way everyone’s tone towards dawn instantly changes when people realize she didn’t know anything
All by design after she's been acting all creepy behind Buffy.
The "be back before dawn" like from dreamscape Tara is possibly one of my favourite hidden foreshadows! I just love how they straight up say it and in a way that makes no one blink twice, it was brilliant
"Buffy got high and beat up her little sister" made me laugh
Team Rana. Y'all totally accused Dawn of being bad writing at the beginning. Gas lighting mf'ers.
The only show I've seen do that is Suraj's favorite
@@calvinallen3424Are you referring to Lost with Nikki and Paulo?
@@x-man9473 Yerp
To be fair, it kinda seems like bad writing at first hahaha.
@@jsb331 The execution was bad. So bad writing isn't off the list.
How Rana didn't immediately lose her shit when Mickey was crediting Suraj with the Dawn reveal, I'll never know. She deserves the biggest I told you so in history.
Also i love the actor for the monk who delivers the Dawn exposition. That moment has always been such a specific stand out from the entire series and he really made the most of his short scene. The decision to make Dawn just an innocent human and his delivery of "she doesn't know" just guts me every time. And the fact that Buffy just immediately falls back into big sister mode, stroking Dawns hair at home. The natural and instant family chemistry between Buffy, Joyce, and Dawn was so essential for this storyline to even work and they nailed it.
It’s also such a big moment, because it’s in the the previously on for the next ever lmao 🤣
@@priyapineapple20 as soon as the monk came on screen I said "and sent it to you" immediately cuz that fuckin line is embedded in my brain.
13:29 "She's been making her mom do things for her."
Yup, teenagers are evil.
PUT RANA IN THE MIDDLE OF THE COUCH so her little tv sister attitude can be freaking heard by the rest of you. 😅
Ever since they did the popularity voting poll they've started putting the two most popular Normies on opposite ends of the couch. So stop making her so popular!
That lady delightedly realizing Buffy has “superpowers” after they have already been trading blows for a good while is one of the scarier moments from a Big Bad.
I don't think The Normies got scared.
Rana's face throughout this episode was priceless.
Can’t believe Rana is still denying Dawn’s been there the whole time.
LOL it has not dawned on me yet - Rana
we love you Rana@@Thenormies
@@Thenormies👍
Wait, are you saying Ben is ...?
@@AaronHunterwhat is the point of this comment? Jesus, you fuckers can't control yourselves. Stop giving clues that you think aren't spoilers but are.
Rana wins again, and then almost immediately loses.
You've finally been introduced to my favourite villain. And the Dawn reveal is just heartbreaking, she's an innocent in all of this.
Dawn's retcon plot inspired the fake memory parasites from Rick & Morty
Also Torchwood
The way rana is nearly always right in her predictions. For a normie she is so good with her theories and is very perceptive and even if she is wrong it makes sense why she would logically think a theory made sense
Clare Kramer was in Bring It On as one of the cheerleaders along with Eliza Dushku and Nicole Bilderback who was a Cordette in The Wish episode. I really love this season lmao.
That lack of acknowledgement or recognition to Bring it on was unreal. Have they never seen it?
I love this episode. The reveal of Dawn is made so well. Yeah, the foreshadowing is hard to get on first watch. That first thing Faith said in the season 3 finale about "Little miss Muffet counting down from 730" is a bit cryptic. 730 = 365x2, so it means two years from now. That's why Tara said that the time 7:30 was completely wrong, because that was in the season 4 finale.
Dawn was planted during the Dracula episode. Joyce said earlier in that one that the house is so lonely when Buffy isn't there, but then Dawn shows up at the end. Also, already in 3x03 when Faith was introduced, Joyce said to Buffy "it's a good thing you are an only child".
Giles also mentions that she is an only child at the beginning of season 4 when she is complaining about her roomate Kathy.
Full S5 discussion
730 after the end of S3 would be the end of S5, so that line is foreshadowing something else, now dawn
Also, I'd like to point out that the reveal of who Dawn is, it's season 5, episode 5, or 5x5 (five by five).
@@Littlewh0 Yes, I agree. But I couldn't say that without spoiling...
@@charmingjinx93795 by 5 isn’t foreshadowing it is a saying that means all is well or loud and clear. It happens to be an important episode of the show but faith isn’t saying it to foreshadow something just to say all is good.
Michelle played the bratty teen sister perfectly,. The trance sequence with Buffy was fantastic, and clever with the photos.
more like *Rana loses a bet but gets almost everything right yet again and is constantly talked over by the men in the room* lol
Yeah I’m fucking over it honestly. If it doesn’t stop soon I’m gonna have to skip some episodes.
Gaslighting about gaslighting, on top of gaslighting, discussing the gaslighting on the show as it gaslights its own gaslight 😂 proud of you Rana! YOU TELL EM!
Rana: (shaking her head, thinking, "I wish I were an only child on this COUCH!") 🤣😆
rana got the more important longstanding issue right and they concentrate on the small thing she got wrong this ep rather than how wrong they were about dawn.
Yep. Trying to gas light us as well as Rana into ignoring _THE_ long-standing theory Rana and Spidey correctly predicted.
Because she bet $100 for it.
The ONE thing Rana is wrong on and she bets $100 😅
This was a great episode. Within 40mins Dawn went from annoying sister, to creepy demon girl, to must protect at all cost. Also, Spike's character development is picking up 😎
Katherine Heigl was on Roswell while this was airing.
This was during season 2. Her character was dating Tom Hanks' son's character
The Beast is Claire Kramer from Bring it On
So was the actor who did a cameo in Lie to Me, though
@@alicequinn505 So was the actress that was in season 1 episode 7 and is a recurring character in season 2 of Angel
@@Huntress59 They look her up in the video.
The most annoying habit (apart from mickey talking rubbish obviously) is how you ignore Rana, then repeat back what she said 30seconds later as if it was your ideas. You do this a lot.
It’s intentional made clear by the editing it’s a joke their comment section is full of Rana supporters they’re just teasing now 😊
Rana in the center shaping the vibe would be a huge win! As the show and its themes mature and it becomes even less of a 'bar wide-screen watch along party' type show, we need someone like her who is deeply invested to drive the conversation down relevant paths.
Presumably the monks are not that familiar with teenage girls (at least, you'd hope not). So when they created Dawn, she ended up acting younger than the age she is supposed to be.
“Why didn’t you send a note with her?!” 🤣
Do u guys not hear Rana at all?
The term Dawn-key had me in stitches this episode.
Justice for Rana! Don’t worry though, it’s always darkest before the dawn.
*and Spidey
Depends on the moonlight.
lol cutting Rana out was cruel. But... maybe she is THE KEY.
Also with the whole Katherine Heigl discussion, I can't wait for the cameo in next week's episode.
Not exactly a cameo at the time, just an ordinary guest star.
@@rfresa Yeah, she wasn't even famous yet so that's not a cameo anymore than Pedro Pascal at the start of season four was a cameo.
There's a cameo?
@@alicequinn505 The character's name is Beth.
JUSTICE FOR RANA!
Don't worry Rana, we remember.
also Rana's boots are fire.
The Magic Box is the place to be. I would go there for all sorts of magic stuff in Sunnydale.
Reminder that this is Spike WITHOUT a soul. He is stil a souless vampire, and yet he is still capable of this much emotion which is pretty incredible for a souless thing.
Angel goes full on psychotic sadist when he loses his soul, for reference, and every other vampire in the setting is a pretty massive psycho too, even if some of them can have a bit of a dorky personality like Harmony.
This. This is what everyone needs to know and remember. This is why Spike will always be better than Angel. Fight me. Spike has no soul and can experience love.
@@sarahcoleman9912Spike is in no way better than Angel.
that episode with the Judge proved that even a vampire can have some humanity in them. i always wonder what would have happened if he touched Spike like he touched Angelus and the bookworm vampire.
@@DanY-gx2dv I love Angel as much as the next fan. He is great. But there is one large way Spike is better than Angel. Angel had to be forced to get a soul to be good. Angel has to have a soul to feel love and have humanity. Spike even as a vampire has humanity and can feel love. If the judge had touched him he would have burned. The judge said they reeked of humanity and Angelus had no humanity in him. Spike took that personally. Without spoilers Spike chooses good later on while Angelus never ever would.
Its so weird that after five seasons they decided to finally give the spotlight to Dawn and made her a magical key
Everyone was like where the fuck did Dawn come from when it first aired.
I LOST IT with the great cheese debate 😂
sarah is such a great actress she makes me cry consistently
I love your reactions
About the Magic Shop success, remember even the "my brother in law is a warlock" its sunnydale, everbody need magic stuff
Rest in peace, Donald Sutherland. He appeared as Merrick, Buffy's(Kristy Swanson) first watcher in 1992's Buffy the Vampire Slayer feature film. Donald's Merrick character paved the way for Anthony Stewart Head's Rupert Giles character in the TV series.
The Dawn reveal blew my mind at 15 y/o (I'm 38 now). I 100% thought Dawn was evil right until the end of the episode. After that, I was on board the Protect Dawn train and was not getting off.
By the time I’m watching this you’ve already seen The Body, so I can say my heart fucking dropped when Rana said “Joyce is dying” with such confidence.
Petition to swap Mickey out for Rana, so the poor lady can get her theories heard & not echoed 2 mins later.
Yes please... & Suraj, just 'cause. LOL
Seriously this shit is pissing me off
This episode rocked my world, I got into Buffy late, right before season 7 aired. I caught up with the series on FX in the mornings.
season 5 is very beautiful.
The editor validating Rana’s fury and letting the audience know that THE EDITOR knows and isn’t there to physically support her.. makes me happy. Thank you editor for helping me calm down, cuz this couch is pissing me off rn giving Suraj the pats on the back when Rana deserves fucking awards for her patience with their idiocy.
I just recently found your Buffy watch videos. I love your videos! Ive been a longtime Buffy fan and have been watching the show about once a year since it aired on television when i was in high school. Its been really fun knowing whats coming and seeing y’all put the puzzles pieces together. Especially with Season 5.
Thank you for making these really fun experiences. :)
1:14 Marketa!!!!! I'm fucking DYING! 🤣
I love The Beast/Abomination. She is something else.
5:01 Can u believe the watchers council let this guy go.
5:52 oh chris bruh lmao 💀
I’m SO glad they sent you the compilation video of all the foreshadowing cuz it’s fun to hear it when you re-watch the first time.
It's funny because Katherine Heigl at this same time was on another WB show called Roswell, airing on Monday nights at 9:00 PM. Of course Buffy aired on the WB on Tuesday nights at 8:00 PM
I always thought she looked more like Felicity
The Beast is from Bring It On like Eliza Duska.
Also the Asian girl that played Whitney in Bring It On came out in Buffy season 3 from that blood machine.
You can almost hear Suraj's thoughts when that monk was having his monologue. Suraj was very concentrated...
I need a compilation of Rana jimming the camera in different episodes.
That actress doesn't even look like Katherine Heigl! Lol! Like at all!
Well done Rana & Spidey!! Vindicated!!!
Curds and whey: long story short- when making cheese start with milk. Add seasonings and bacteria. The bacteria curdles the milk (notice the curd in curdles) leaving lumps (curds) and a liquid (whey). The curds are scooped up and put into, you guessed it, cheesecloth. The cheesecloth curds are placed into forms (molds) and pressed with weight to expel excess whey and form a solid block. The block is aged and soon dipped in wax to keep it from harmful bacteria.
I think I saw this sh*t on ‘Reading Rainbow’ or something when I was a kid and it always stuck with me. SEE YA!
I just always explain it as curds and whey is cottage cheese. I think there might be like a tiny difference (size of curds maybe) but easiest way that people get it.
That one off-hand comment from Chris... ooooof!
Happy i wasn't the only one who noticed it... I wonder how far along they are on patreon.
I was so tempted to put something down in the comments. This comment is the perfect amount of vague for those who know. 😂
VINDICATION!!
Rana & Spidey deserve better! They been on point about Dawn since the beginning. Rana & Spidey deserve the middle!!
Also curds and whey is Cottage Cheese for those wonder. Curds is cheese & whey is the liquid that makes the curds
Also Clare Kramer and Eliza Dushku were in Bring It On together
Rana is the little sister we diserve, whether she's real or magically placed by european monks, it doesn't matter.
Finally! Ever since you started BTVS I've been waiting for this episode!!!! Dawn has actually been referred when Byffy and Faith
shared dreams. Only picked it up from watching your reaction. That's how good the show is. Just as the Mayor was mentioned in Season 2 by the à
principal Dawn was also foreshadowed, except no one could figure it out. Faith and Buffy are both making a bed. This is my favorite big bad and I love the way she's introduced. I love the way Buffy reacts when she gets hit from her. Like
she's never been hit this hard ever!!!! Priceless!!!!
One of the most iconic quoted lines from the whole show is when asks Spike what he is doing if five words or less and he says 'Out for a walk, Bitch!' This is where S5 really starts coming together with our introduction to Clare Kramer hamming it up mercilessly as the vacuous fashion victim, but is the best 'big bad' of the whole show. The Key to this whole Season is 'The Key' and we now know that the ancient monks formed The Key into human form and that it is Dawn. The writing for S5 is exceptional this is why many fans say it is by far the best Season. Buffy now knows that she is up against something that she has never seen before in strength and power, but must protect Dawn at all costs. The complexity of the plot and storylines running through S5 are just superb, we also see Dawn and Buffy very worried about Joyce's illness. The scene where the Monk tells Buffy is a brilliant reveal. S5 is so emotional with heart breaking moments. Another interesting thing about BTVS and Angel is that both shows contains the same lines in certain episodes here we see Buffy being asked 'can you fly' the same line was used in Angel S1E1 when Angel says to Russell 'can you fly' before pushing him out the window.
What an episode. Does SO much work in setting up the series but in a really sharp, well written way
The Katherine Heigl debate when then first saw the lady in red was amazing! When Rana bet Mickey $100, I said, uh oh....someone is out a hundred. :)
"-five words.." 😂
The edits around Rana😂😂. I love this channel.
Haha, love how the discussion erupted into chaos 😂
It's funny seeing the way Dawn acts like the annoying little sibling because the last thing I remembered seeing her in before this was Harriet the Spy on Nickelodeon.
I was waiting for this episode's reaction for so long and I can't help but feel disappointed - because it took so long for Markéta to realize that Monks were speaking "Czech"... but i get it - with that thick russian accent it is really hard to catch it for the first time.
Also the lady in red said “until someone will sit down on their tuffet and make this birthing stop!” Before she put her hands in that dudes head
The greatest season of Buffy has officially begun!!! Yaaaay!!!
Yeah this is really where it gets going.
@@jakelover1731and it doesn’t stop until the end. I’m torn but I think it’s my favorite season too.
@@alexgraetzer To me the 5th and 6th season are just one big season, and season 7 is the finale
The Vlad diet thing is plausible if his tomb is still around. Archeologists and scientists can learn a lot about a person even from very old remains these days.
I like how Dawn actually just made a normal cup of tea for her mom but it comes across as really sinister.
So Rana just owes Micky a hundred bucks now lol
No Joss Wedon had the storyline of Dawn as the key since the beginning of season 4. That’s why he had Faith mention it in the dream sequence including down to the number of days it would be until she shows up. Both Buffy and Faith were making the bed for her new sister it was all intentional.
Chris- "she tryna die on this couch?"
As for the magic shop being so busy: this is Sunnydale and everyone knows eventually the shop owner will be killed and/or the shop will be destroyed. They have to get their magic supplies while they can!
Chris just commented”what’s she trying to do die on this couch?” And all I could think was holy sh!t good guess. I’m playing catch-up for the record and I checked before commenting about this to make sure they had seen “The Body”.
Vamp at the start was the muscle Danny bought off in "Oceans 11". or looks like him at least.
I've re-made Giles' shop in 3D on my channel, I love the Magic Box! I'm working to put it in VR cos I wanna watch Buffy in there lol
omg this season is such a great one to react to
When Faith says in season 3 Little Miss Muffet is counting down from 730?
It's 365 multiplied by 2, meaning in two year's time.
“Buffy got high and beat up her little sister” 🤣 “that motherfucker is not real”
Finally my favorite Buffy villian has made her first appearance. 💪
Watching the discussion was worth it just for the cheese/curds conversation 😂
I know when Rana suddenly showed up. It was during the Lost reactions. First it was Nikki and Suraj. Then she suddenly appeared, just like Dawn.
2:04 to 2:06 When more than half the day is already gone so you are in a rush so you hit the arrow key twice to rush to the reaction. that was the last thing i was expecting to see when i hit the arrow key lmfao (normally i listen to the intros outros and discussions but obviously i got no time right now got work soon lol)
Love the foreshadowing of Dawn
The close up on Rana 😂 our hero!!!!!!
Sunnydale is directly on a hellmouth, of course the magic shop buzzing.
I be waiting on these 💯🔥❤️🔥🤞🏾
