    ABOUT US
Hi! We’re Jack and Gab, a goofy American couple from San Diego, California. Working long hours at a desk job made us feel like life was passing us by, so in June 2019, we quit our jobs and booked a one-way ticket to travel the world. We’ve been on the road ever since!

2:57 nowadays, some volunteers group go there and collect those trashes. It is a kind of community awareness program and tries to teach the locals not to throw their trash carelessly. Actually, every pagoda and temple has its own history in the entry written on the sign. I hope one day they write in English as well. The builder of those pagodas was from the lower part of the country, ancient Thaton city, Mon Kingdom, which they lost the war with Bagan king. It is very interesting story about how Bagan starts becoming Theravada Buddhism.

Hello Jack and Gab. I'm from Myanmar. it's been a year you uploaded this video and I'm commenting after a year. But I hope you two will see my comment. I'm gonna tell you two a saying we,the Burmese, tell one another when we talk about Bagan. It's not big deal but just want you two to know this. The saying is that "when you visit to Bagan, no matter which direction you point your finger, there is always a pagoda." 😉

There is something you guys missed there I think. There is something you guys can see on the left and right of roads other than pagodas. The scene looks especially amazing at night with little street light. Go biking around the quiet and faint roads at night and you'll find at your left and right, "Graves". Especially when you're joking around about the ghosts and stuff and then the bike battery went off. Happened to my sister before.

That is so nice and exotic. I went there in 2010 to find it was all still really old style with the most unique souvenirs for sale that was all really old stuff that had been around there since the 1930's or 40's due it not really being a tourist destination for many decades. Food was very basic, horse carriages were the transportation though sometimes a small blue Nissan truck left over the 1940's when Japan was there in WW2, and diarrhea was problematic though antibiotics from Thailand were easily had at small pharmacies. Myanmar was closed for many years and then re-opened in 2010 for a 6 month trail of visa on arrival and I believe remained open for modernization. Common souvenirs were lots of old fuel lighters, scales, pipes, and things left over from when opium was popular a really long time ago. And then the sequin kalaga wall tapestries of dragons and white elephants were incredibly better than those sold in Thailand which are probably the best souvenirs I have besides Indonesian batik art and of course my little metal Eiffel tower from 25 years ago when they were still French made classics.

Hi Jack and Gab! I've traveled extensively to Asia the past few years, but not to Myanmar yet.
What time did you have to leave your hotel to make it to the old city to see the sunrise?
Does that include time to find and rent your bike?
At one point you said it was too hot to stay and you returned to your hotel. What time was that? I don't take extreme heat well and would like to replicate your times :-).
I love the pics I have taken, and would love to have video memories but I travel solo. Like when you are riding on your bikes to the old city, how are you capturing yourselves on the bikes? Or do you have a cameraman riding besides you?
Thanks for your help and wishing you continued beautiful memories.
    Bob

I would recommend asking for a tour guide cause u guys are missing out a huge story about buddhish temples.for example ,One of the temple has a guard who is most likely a ghost and u can hear him and his horse galloping at night. They even make a small temple for him in that pagoda compound .
