Honestly the best part of the story was the employee's parents who gave everything they had to help the company and wanted nothing in return. Only to then become millionaires
As a business person myself, starting from absolutely nothing. I appreciate this channel and mostly the success stories of these reputable companies and brands.
@@Bwilli1990 it’s important that we know this truth because it lets people know that the road will be much different when you don’t have the proper access to the same type of resources he did!

Iv been on RUclips for years and it's been several years since iv got hooked to watching one channel during my free time. Thank you for your attention grabbing videos
You missed a thing. After three years Nike went public, they reached out to the lady that originally made the logo and gave her a huge compensation for her work (500 shares of the company at that time), diamond rings made of gold with the swoosh and chocolate swooshes.
The part when the parents that donated their life savings to the company realized they just made 1.6m dollars was actually so beautiful, I can't imagine the face of the parents after getting that much money just by donating 8k dollars to a company they just wanted to save...
Great video! I have read Phil Knight's memoir ("Shoe Dog") and it's clear that he was (and still is) really passionate about running. He essentially founded Nike out of his desire to create the perfect running shoe for himself. The rest, as they say, is history. :)
I love your videos bro. Ever since I got YT premium, I’ve been searching for podcasts and mini docs to listen to while at work and your videos by far are my favorite. They’re informative and addicting and one of my favorite parts is that you can watch the video and enjoy the content or just shut the phone off and listen to it like a podcast. A lot of docs rely on visuals to help them communicate their points but with you, you do a great job of visualizing what your talking about with just your words. Meaning I could just listen to the video without having to watch it but if I wanted to, I could. Great for people like me who work and can’t watch their screens
Your channel is PHENOMENAL! I literally binge on these episodes. The amount of research and production must be staggering. This is by far one of the best channel in the YTsphere. Thank you for all you do!
I'm from Sri Lanka where we have quite a few Nike factories and innovation centers around. To say the least production of NIKE and similar branded goods in this part of the world have changed people lives to a great extent. Working conditions of these factories are great nowadays. These factory employees are given transport, buffet type food(not fancy), education for their children, insurance and great career growth. If I' not mistaken after these scandals reported in early 2000s NIKE and similar brand introduce some of the strict compliance policies which resulted in above effective changes. Still these trade partnerships bring in huge chunk of foreign revenue to the country, enabling a country ruined by political cartel to survive.
The sheer quality of these videos hits different, can't comment enough and I have no words to fully explain how awesome this channel really is, hope it reaches tens of millions of subscriptions cause I'd watch this over Netflix any day!!!!
This is an amazing story, really put a smile on my face despite being poor, not in a great place myself lol. Inspiring to say the least, maybe still hope lol

Fun fact, most people don't realize that the owners of Puma and Adidas are actually brothers. During world war 2 they made shells and tanks for the German military, one brother supported the Nazis the other didn't and this caused a family rift and apparently the 2 brothers went the rest of their lives without ever speaking again.
2pac once said "I'm not saying I'm going to change the world, but I'm going to spark the minds that are going to change the world" and if I'm honest this channel is going to do the same. Your going to inspire someone that will change the world.

It seems that Capitalists have never wanted their exploitation to be exposed. Great documentary. Believe it or not, the only sneaker or "running shoe" made in the US, is New Balance. Thank you.

I wouldn't argue that before in the time of innovation, that is to say: so many opportunities in terms of original concept ideas, was hard to kickstart, with a little self-confidence one can come a long way but none of these things matter as much as actually having a high-quality idea as an improvement for instance on an already existing product or what's even better is to have an original idea for a product based on the gap in the market which in the times of old, it seems the world was full of.
