I'm a bit conflicted when it comes to people like him. On one hand what he did was undeniably impressive on the other hand it's scary how much control of the world a single man can have.
And I'm in a bit of conflict with the world when it comes to people like him.. I get inspired seeing such powerful and rich people and take them as a role model.. ok it's an unpopular opinion.. but still I love such stuff..

JP Morgan is one powerful guy, a little too powerful for my own taste. Men similar to him in characteristics tend to abuse without any lingering mercy. Somehow he’s made an impact, but it’s up to debate whether or not it was either a good or bad impact.

So he grew up in a wealthy household, was given a prestigious job at his fathers home, started his own company after working there for a few years, monopolized critical infrastructure and bought out pre existing companies.
Modern days this would be called a “self made billionaire”
This is not a story of entrepreneurship. It's a story about maintaining and making your father's legacy the biggest.

Umm since well before the US even declared independence. Literally John Hancock was a Boston businessman who hated how limited and taxed he was by the British government. Is world-renowned for helping the US declare independence and was a major architect to the continental congress. Business was, is and always will be the backbone of the US.
I grew up with him as a neighbor, he was a very humble man, he once bought me some pizza as a kid and taught me to plan my spendings for a week upfront, it was very helpful

What he was doing was monopoly, if I look at him he does kind of look like the character of the monopoly board game😂
He unified many industries that would likely still be small players and unable to compete on a global market otherwise. And he bailed the country out more than once at a time when every other country had turned their backs and caused economic collapses that would have lasted a long time and costed many lives given the state of things, setting the countries progress back many years. His display of confidence in the economy despite it failing, is the only reason overseas confidence and investment was restored. Without him getting things back on track, USA would not have been in a position to do it's part in the wars. Would have been way too under funded and under resourced. It took a lot of time for countries to build up everything and stand strong back then. Still does, but not as long.
Consolidating industries is one of the things that has made china a world power in such a short time.
Like Morgan or not, regardless of the fact that he's there to make money, the guy deserved a thanks, not a big F.U. from the public.
In the same breath he manipulated laws and politicians and monopolized industries as a spoiled little brat who came from one of americas first wealthy class. This guy had all the money in the world before he was even born and just continued to try and get more and more by using that money to just continue to manipulate and monopolized until the very things he did destroyed the market and he just bought that too… hero? More like slum lord ..
