It's because she doesn't bring albums out every few months like Taylor Swift does, Adele enjoys spending quality time with her son and she comes in and out of music so she enjoys it more and so no one will get bored of her

I love what she said at the end. Why are we pretending like gender doesn't exist. It does. And in many many circumstances it is not fair to compare men and women. So, I don't see the point in changing the award. It just means one less amazing artist gets recognition every year

They're not upset- it's just a bunch of transphobes making *up* that there's some "upset woke mob" going after her. Every actual reaction I've seen from trans people on twitter is "rad! I'm really happy she loves being a woman!" - especially from trans women, ofc they'd be all for women loving being women- it would surely take loving being a woman to transition to one :)
And yeah, it's not even anything hurtful to nonbinary people- she wasn't saying there's not benefits to the award not being gendered (she clarified the opposite, in fact), just that she does love being recognized as a woman and seeing other women succeed in the industry too!

However, as the award is now genderless for inclusivity and not female/male, some people might think her comment about being a female artist was tone-deaf.
