I played this last night in concert with Sean O'Loughlin directing it in a local Honor Band. I was first chair tenor sax. I loved this piece. It was my favorite out of our set. :D
Playing this as a freshman in my high school symphonic band as first trumpet! Really hyped for this song my favorite one! Sounding really good so far and it’s only been a couple of days!!
I played the tambourine and wood block on this. It was the last song I played in band that I remember liking. I dropped last year. I really like this song.
played timpani on this for a district honor band concert back in high school and i still consider it my best performance to date. those timpani features are way cool
My older sister plays the flute in 8th grade band, and she just got this song. She is super excited, although the song is difficult (she says all her friends hate it because of this), and plays in about two weeks!
I also love the 120 clicks in 6/8 to allegro 4/4 switch then the slow down to 80 clicks right before it goes back to 108 clicks in 6/8. So fun to count.
It's a great piece of music. Very lively and fun. More like something I would read at Honor Band than play at festival but I'm glad I have the opportunity to play it ^.^
know what else is cool too? the speed of the song, 120 dotted quarter notes per minute means one bar per second. so for the first minute in this video, the number of seconds in can tell you what bar the song is at! Example, at 0:32 is bar 32!
@hakurou3137 and @Iluvluigi58 i playing this in band too! and i play french horn! well, im an ex-trumpet french horn. and someone from my band played this at Caz last summer too! its a small world!
@awesome102030405060 lol nice =D i haven't been to one of those grading things in awhile~ We finally managed to get it this week, which is pretty good for getting it last week~ But since i'm a dunder head i sometimes miscount still lawl...
