Does the app need the company's server to work, such that when the company goes out of business the boards will no longer function?
That's a question to Vestaboard. Interesting thought !
Right now, as far as I know, Vestaboard is not going fully open source yet. But, if they go out of business, they could choose to go that route and the product can keep working.

My mother is deaf and I struggle getting touch of her as she misses 95% of my calls only because she needs to see the phone turning or of notice the vibration....this would get ger attention

How do you change the font?😊
Theoretically, you can use Cricut to make customized stickers and go through each flapping piece to change the font. But, it’s going to be time consuming and not sure if it will affect the running efficiency of the machine considering all of those stickers will make each module more heavy.

How long does it take for a character position to cycle through all possible values? Can it go in both directions or only in a single direction?
Flap board mechanism can never go both directions. So only one direction. It won’t take long to go through all values if it’s properly designed in terms of circuit design and industrial design.
@@ranmo4615 Sure; I'll assume your company's engineers designed the Vestaboard optimally. So how long DOES it take a Vestaboard to cycle through all the values? Someone was asking me about using a Vestaboard to display song lyrics, but I think it would be both too slow and too noisy unless the whole song fits on the sign at once (e.g. "Happy Birthday").
great questions, wouldnt know! I agree with you flipping through lyrics unless slow song, could be a lot. It's super fast and the fun is in hearing it and letting it 'flip'. But youd need to test it to see if for you?

I love this thing! I agree, $2,995 is very pricey for this, but the great thing is that the price makes the product harder to obtain by the masses. You have to love it enough to save up for it or have lots of money to begin with. It might be selfish thinking, but I think things become way less interesting if everyone or almost everyone can get their hands on one (like Ikea furniture, for example lol). Some of their pieces are quite functional and aesthetic, but a lot of pieces have lost it's appeal because everyone has one.
Agree, it is not cheap. Depends what you value. I valued having it and the experience so much that I got it. Still have it still love it :) what's the price of that?

That means it’s a pain to fix
one time code is sent so you can launch it. No problem if you have issues, You get in touch and they help :) They're very responsive. So far so good

We want to see the board not your head. You made this review about you too much. You should be showing us the settings within 20 seconds. I’m 9 minutes into your review and I’ve barely seen the board let alone how it works. If you have to blabber on, do a voice over. We’re not here to watch you talk.

Something much better than text tiles flipping messages. For 1/10th of the price, get web based screen that can send photos, videos, and speech.
There's a lot of mechanical moving parts involved. It's guaranteed to fail soon or later.
This is definitely for suckers who are sucker to pay for it.
