I am so excited to start. Just waiting for my background fabric to arrive. Going to use all Lori Holt fabrics- her chicken track for the background and a variety of her lines to the chickens. This patter is so cute. Fun fun fun. Happy sewing everyone.
Your blocks look great and I’m wondering if you did the heavy starching with your fabric beforehand to achieve such nice points and no cut off points? (Especially with those tiny centers of chickens).
Thanks! I give my fabrics a good press before cutting them and as I piece the block, but I don't use starch (though I did starch the individual quilt blocks before the taking pictures of them in my blog post/email). The thing that helped my points the most was getting a 1/4" presser foot with a guard on the edge. It was a game changer! And practice, lots of practice. :)
Awesome! You can find the pattern here. It is available in print or as a pdf. www.etsy.com/shop/LeilaGardunia?ref=seller-platform-mcnav§ion_id=47764527

I love it! This is exciting. You demonstrate and explain very well. Thank you for sharing this with us 😊🐔
You are so welcome! I'm glad it was helpful. :)

What about making one of Chicken 1 or 2 into a Rooster. This quilt is lovely but is missing a Valentino.
Sure! I think the combs on 1 and 2 are very 'boy'. :)
Would like to order fabric and instructions for the chicken quilt. How do I go about??

However, I don't have a fabric kit for it.
