If you like roller coasters and are in montreal well you should travel somewhere else but in Montreal it is an amusement park. Honestly I preferred the Museums. Though for the island with La Ronde concerts are best like Heavy Montreal.
I just am happy to get to see videos of the two proper amusement parks I’ve been to other then Disney World with La Ronde and Canada’s Wonderland.

I would say that Myke was too scared to go to La Ronde, but I then remembered he now works for Airtime Thrills, who also recently offered me a job as press secretary.
I mean I understand Myke's decision here. If you had to choose between going to La Ronde or Six Flags Magic Mountain, which would you choose?

I first rode Track 1 of Le Monstre in 1985 the summer it opened. Track 2 didn't open until the next season (1986) and I went back and rode it too. Even back in '86 the general consensus was that Track 2 was the better track. They did replace the trains a number of years ago, the original trains ran faster. When it opened it was a great ride.
I just got into this roller coaster enthusiast business a few months ago, and discovering this channel has been the best part so far. Kudos to you!!!!!!
Great Video. LaRonde is so polarizing. I love its gritty, urban nature. It reminds me of another urban Canadian park- Playland in Vancouver. Montreal is one of the world's finest cities but it can still be rough around the edges, just like LaRonde. It's pretty in some areas and plain ugly in others. The ride collection is eclectic. The Batman mirror-image clone feels so fast and intense. The mirror image layout really throws me off in a good way, just like its StL counterpart. LeVampire's entire queue was used and then some when it first opened. I also remember riding LeCobra (RIP) when it was yellow. I've never ridden the wild mouse since I can't be bothered to wait. The food is good and the last time I visited there were plenty of beer stalls and a full bar to stay hydrated. It wasn't even expensive since the exchange rate works in our favor. LaRonde may not slap but it's still pretty cool in an offbeat way. The fireworks slap.
When Six Flags removes a ride for something better at another park, they have started shipping them to Laronde. I think the last real new ride we got was Goliath.

One of Astroworld's last running coasters is that Vekoma SLC. Named "Ednör - L'Attaque" in La Ronde, the ride was formerly titled "Serial Thriller" when it arrived at Astroworld in '99. As a Houstonian who lost his home park I was looking forward to seeing this Coaster Idiot's episode. While I didn't like the ride back in the day, I am happy to see it one more time, thanks Ryan.
I rode Serial Thriller too. I am still mad over Kieran Burke fucking slaughtering the park.
I just looked up the SLC at La Ronde and discovered it used to be Serial Thriller at Astroworld. The memories came flooding back.

I like La Ronde because it's like Canadas' Wonderland but they don't pretend to have more than 4 rides worth riding

The Boomerang was meant to operate in an amusement park called Tivoli, in Gran Canaria (Canary Islands, Spain), but contruction was not completed and the park never opened to the public.
Back in the early 80's it was painted in Yellow and spend quite some time standing, but not operating, until it was sold to Le Ronde.
The ferris wheel comes from the same amusement park in Gran Canaria too.
Since I never got a chance to ride any of them, I am extremely happy that both rides found a new owner and are still operating to this day.
I wish I could travel to Canada and ride them, so I could have the chance that I never got when I was a kid.

My home park (playland Vancouver) has a clone of super manege called corkscrew. It closed down as well! (Btw, there’s a wooden rollercoaster there called “Coaster” and it’s small, but has some kick-ass airtime.)

I wish I could go coaster hunting like this, I missed out on a lot when I was younger. I had a terrible fear of coasters due to my dad forcing me to ride one when I was really young. So growing up in Florida and going to Universal every year with my family I didn't ride any coasters, till I conquered my fear at six flags great adventure on the green lantern stand up coaster. Now I'm trying to budget a way to go visit Florida and ride all the rides I missed out on

Yes it should and RMC made plans for RMC Monstre like 5 years ago but the city of Montreal isn't letting them do it since Monstre is technically owned by the city since they paid for it.

@@Coolsomeone234 I don't have a source because I work there and two of my colleagues saw the plans. One of my colleagues saw the plans last year when the plans were kept inside the administrative building. My other friends who's a Six Flags shareholder constantly gets news about Six Flags and their future plans and he has seen the plans multiple times. He tells me they are currently being kept inside Monstre's garage where the second trains are kept.
@@Coolsomeone234 But now, RMC signed a contract with Martin and Vlemincks for two coasters. One at Canada's Wonderland and the other at La Ronde. The one at La Ronde was originally supposed to arrive in 2017 but there were some complications and instead we got Titan. But now we are supposed to get it around 2025-2026 but because of Covid nothing is certain now.
According to my friend who saw it last year, the coaster will use the terrain behind the Monstre to make the footprint bigger. This piece of land is currently used ase an employee parking lot. And according to my shareholder friend, this coaster will take about two years to build because of its two tracks and it will be almost as tall or as tall as Steel Vengeance which surprises me because La Ronde actually has a height limit which is one of the reasons why most of our rides are under 200ft tall but I don't know what the exact height limit is. I just know that they can't build anything taller than the Jacques Cartier bridge
I know that for the last two weeks, RMC has been installing some topper track at the top of the third hill. During the summer, they also replaced the track in the station. But while they were doing this track work, they were also doing some work on the iron horse conversion plans which tells me that Six Flags is still planning on giving us this coaster. I just hope Covid didn't mess up too much their plans.

last time I went to La Ronde, I was just passing by on my bike and decided to get in on some random grey week night. I rode Goliath like 5 times in a row then Le Monstre once then left. It was basically worth it.

i know its been 5 year since you post this ahah.. Being a person that grow going at la ronde i can tell you, back in the day like 2010 monster was rided with their original train and thwy was more sensasional than today i probably say the la ronde is just downgrading year after year but like i say in 2010 it was way better ! (Never being in a other park but can't wait to see what real coaster is ahah)

Sad fact: Le Monstre is rougher and slower and shorter than when it open, because they changed the train to ptc, it even used to duel beacause the trains were way more light than the PTCs one

after drinking all that water did you have to use the bathroom? because there's bathrooms at la ronde where it's a regular thing for a father and his children to play in the stall who don't need to use the bathroom, and when they're done with the stall, they play in the urinals and they're apparently in elementary school and they usually speak french so you can't tell them to stop...... don't ask me that's what i heard in a review of this place
lmao one time I went there during an 18+ event they held there last summer and while I was peeing, the bathroom suddenly started smelling like weed. Then I turn to my left and I just see a guy peeing while smoking a joint.

In my opinion this park wasn't that bad. To me it's pretty underrated. Though I do think there are things that could make it better, such as cutting down on the long queue lines and such.
