God bless America and bless the day that fund me here. When you study Nursing in America or even in Nigeria, (some schools in Nigeria), you get a wold class education. This type of education gives you an age over your UK counterparts.

Training in the UK is behind compared to training in Canada or America.
An American trained nurse is definitely more clinically advanced than a UK trained nurse.

I suggest that you look at doing Physician Assistant (its 2 years and £9k per year), you’re more autonomous and can put your skills to use.

What if we don't have certification for basic procedure like cannulation venipuncture etc then what nurses do in wards who doesn't have these or they don't let to do job unless you clear all these certification ??????

Other nurse who have the certification can do it. Or Doctors can as well

hey! could you talk a bit more about those skills that you need additional training for? is there a way to prove you have these skills as a Canadian nurse without doing the training? seems like a long process for thing you already know how to do ☹️apologies if u already answered the question. awesome vid!

I’m about to be a registered nurse in the UK finishing uni next year and I want to further my studies and get a masters degree in nursing in Canada is it possible? I know there are differences in nursing in both countries. Is there anyway I could speak with you?

Hey girl, the UK is certainly behind in some of those old school ways. The great news is the new schooling system is updating!! with students being taught to perform correct auscultation, cannulation and NG insert aswell as being prescriber ready. Currently nurses in the ICU and more clinically complex wards perform all these skills daily and all RNS administer IV’s. All in all the Uk has a way to go if it wants to maintain its ‘gold standard’ reputation !

Have doubt about career opportunities. Is it better in UK or Canada. Now I work as a nurse in UK and I see lot of career opportunities I wonder what is the situation in Canada ? If you could answer that would be great.

UK has a better safety net than canada im sure.
say something happens to you and you cant be a nurse anymore. i suspect UK would be a better country to live in if you are poor. and hteres more hope for UK democracy than canada.

That’s a great question, if I have to be honest I’m not sure. You’d have to check with the university you plan to attend in Canada. They might be able to use some of the courses you’ve taken here in the uk towards your Canadian degree

To my understanding no, credits not transferred. Had a Chez peer that completed her nursing prior to moving to Canada did the whole program over. If you graduate successfully, you have to do equivalence testing and other hoops to jump through.
