  • First thing I noticed when working in the uk & for the NHS was the hours worked here as a nurse, along with nurses working Full time hours or Part-time hours.
In this video I will be comparing hours of work between Canadian Nurse & British Nurses.
Again, the content of this video does not reflect all of Canada or UK working hours for nurses. These are just my personal observations and reflection from my previous experiences.
    enjoy the video :)

Hi nurse, thank you again for the good and realistic video.
To be honest, Canadian shift pattern are perfect and I will tell you why.
Just like you have explained in your video, the gap with the three days is unrealistic (for me). I will say, if you're young single and no responsibility ( family, caring for someone in your family...) That's fine.
I will take my own example, being an alone parent and doing my degree that's not easy at all, I did struggle, and I still struggle with childcare. By the grace of God I do have some good support system around me. But still is hard. I know some single mum with , two or three kids, I don't know how they do that and sometimes being on placement they can't really accommodate you with what you want because you need to do those shifts pattern, but sometimes yo have really good manager that can help.
I did heard about sad storie, but really can't share them here. But trust me, Canada shift pattern are better than here.
That's why I told you I prefer to trade annual leave and having those shifts pattern here in the UK 🇬🇧.
For example, if I had to stay here in the UK, I will go straight to work in community ( district nurse) because the shift are more suitable for me and my daughter, and I know lots of students of my cohort are ready to do te same because they need to take care of their family.
That's my thoughts on work hours. Sorry I took too long to explain, but I really had to say it as it is. And now that you're a mum, you will see the difference yourself.
All the best, and I can't wait to see more videos like that. Stay bless

Hi nurse, can you talk about a bit about registration processing and the possibility of getting a provisional registration as an IEN from the BC? Do you how much a provisional registrant makes there in the BC and how long can it be extended? Thanks
