As a health-care professional (HCP) since the past two plus decades now, it really isn't anything to write home about, far from glamorous as they'd make you think, pay is a complete mess as one can expect individuals with far less credentials/license/experience to earn much more or to get promoted into management as a result of SEXISM/ageism/nepotism/discrimination/racism, and the pay is stagnant as one can forget any career ladder/growth opportunities. It is just another hustle and I know that many are scared to say this, but I speak for many and why many are leaving the field and shortages will only worsen - mark my words.
Great content Onyeka!! I work as an oncology RPN and as per scope of practice in Ontario RPNs can actually give IVs and also administer blood transfusions as well. The only thing I can’t do as an oncology RPN is chemotherapy.
Here in the west rpn stands for registered psychiatric nurses the practical nurses are lpns. Most RNs here earn over 100k without too much overtime. The ones who pick more overtime earn close to 300k or more.
Hey Onyeka, thank you for your insights! I’m sitting in a nice office working an admin job in a biotech company. My job relates mainly to the database management side. I also Had exp in public health and in pharmacy. The monotonous and non-autonomy characteristics of my office job is soul-devouring. So I’m thinking to start nursing school. But i’m scared i’ll make the wrong decision. Do you think that nurses are underpaid in Canada? Plus , do you have a lot of autonomy in your job?

How do mother's with babies cope do u go to work with ur baby or u have a Nanny
I don’t have a baby soo… if I did then daycare.
Go to work with your baby???😅 some questions though
Day care is super expensive and if your baby is down with cold, cough or loose stool you get to keep them at home for like 48 hrs minimum
Did Rpn just get wage increase? I heard rn is getting their bump soon too
I don’t know about Rpns but RNs just got their pay increase.

It should be about the same if I’m not mistaken

You can check Niagara College. It’s a one year program. I am sure you have the basic prerequisites
There is also a possibility to get a license in certain provinces of Canada (not in Ontario) while living outside Canada.
And after the taxes reduction nurses still live comfortably right?
It depends on your lifestyle 😂😂
But i can tell you that the take home sucks
Oh my God 🥺, it's serious then😂, so how are people who are not earning up to nurses coping,
Dey play
First of all we pay all of you means people in private sectors. Second, how much you get after tax that is the money you earn after tax.
Is the double pay x2 or x1.5 ?
At time of this video yes x2 now it’s 1.5😭😭😭
Please I really want to know why the USA nurses make money More than Canada nurses
Please 🙏
Maybe because US economy is bigger than Canada. Wages are generally higher in the US for most fields.
Wage rate in USA is generally higher than in Canada regardless of the job/role, so it makes sense that nurses there earn a lot more.

hi Onyeka is there much difference between a RN and BSN in canada
You get a BSN after graduating from an undergraduate nursing bachelors. You become an RN when you take the NCLEX exam and become registered.
Tax tax and tax will eat you up.
