That was the issue. Like Jordan leaving the NBA... You cannot afford to have someone in your game who owes the mob money. They will eventually come for you.
None of that matters. If you have ever bet on baseball you know you can't "just bet on your team to win." You have to bet on a point spread. Even if you "bet on your team to win" you are betting that they will only win by a specific amount. By default that means Pete Rose had a financial incentive to make sure his team didn't score so many runs that they blew out the other team. That means if he bet his team would win by 1 run he would lose if they won by 2 runs. With baseball in particular you can't just "bet on your team to win." If that were the case you could bet on the Dodgers to win every single game. You would be wrong sometimes but it would be a guarantee that at the end of the season you made a profit. That means the people accepting the bets would know they are guaranteed to take a loss. No one will ever allow anyone to bet like that. You have to bet on a run differential which means Pete Rose may have wanted his team to win but at the very best he didn't want his team to win by very much. That in and of itself could have created losses for the Reds. There is no such thing as just "betting on your team to win" when it comes to gambling. The only people who say that are people who have no idea what gambling actually is. Gambling is running numbers. It has nothing to do with winners and losers.

Glad im not the only one who gets incensed by the amount of sports betting ads shoved down our throats mid baseball game while Pete is still banned for it.
I know it's a one year old video and not many will actually care to read this comment, but Jordan actually a pretty decent stat spread when he played for the Barons in 1994 and actually took the sport seriously as he was trying to get over his father's death, as well as honor his late father apparently wanted him to be a baseball player initially. Aside from his dad dying the fact that he was feeling some burnout from basketball due to the Summer Olympics of '92 and his overall fame were also driving factors on why he swapped to baseball, but his dad's death was likely the trigger for him to shift. The biggest factor on why he probably didn't continue baseball aside from probably wanting to go back into the NBA, was due to the fact that due to the 1994 player strike occurring and it not being resolved until April 25th of 1995 , he realized he might be selected as a replacement player for the season, which probably would have tarnished his legacy a bit, and returned to the Bulls in March of 95. I will say if the strike didn't occur in 1994 there could have been a chance for Jordan to debut for the White Sox, but the only reason his brief stint in baseball occured and why he was able to return in the middle of the 94-95 season was due to the fact that Jerry Reinsdorf owned both the Bulls and the White Sox at the time, never canceled Jordan's NBA contract and owning both teams made him able to still have Jordan under contract regardless of which sport he would have stuck with.

Bottom layer: the Springfield Nuclear Superteam
why was the bergen section taken word for word from his wikipedia page? like y’all couldn’t change up the wording even a little bit?
37:34 Tyler Collins in Detroit as well. Probably the only thing notable he ever did
don't forget about when Ian Kinsler joined the Padres, hit for a 71 OPs + and -0.7 WAR, flipped off Padres fans, then retired in 2019 lmao

Loma Prieta Earthquake still stings me to this day as I personally felt the rumbling live and living color.
Some context on the 86 World Series...
The sox were one out away from winning BEFORE mookie got to the plate, but they gave up the tying run...
Glad im not the only one who gets incensed by the amount of sports betting ads shoved down our throats mid baseball game while Pete is still banned for it.
What is that intro song man ?! I love it
great video man.
Thank you!
There better be a mention of the great Tungsten Arm O’Doyle or I’m unsubbing

Just wanted to say there are 3 instances of a player flipping off home fans, Ian Kinsler did it while in San Diego and had to apologize.
Awesome video
Great video 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
NFT sneak diss was hilarious
I don’t even remember putting it in there 😂😂
So Baseball AF should have reworded it “even I didn’t know about the W Flag at Wrigley, thus making me NOT Baseball AF”.
This was great! I'm sure this thing could be absolutely loaded and be a 4 hour video if you wanted to.
Maybe next year
When the video talks about multiple deaths and then you get a bright and happy midroll ad for Dove Chocolate
4:02 i 100% agree with this claim, as my channel is mostly baseball and cards
Every time I watch Babe Ruth swing a Bat, I wonder how many Home Runs he'd have hit if he had a Modern Swing. Crazy what he did with that Swing.

WHY does NOBODY blames the parents that 2 year old that got hit by that line drive in Houston, becuse they could have gotten seats in a area where they had being in that same area
fun fact about Pete Rose’s ban is that Paul Giamatti’s dad was the commissioner that banned Pete. a nice layer to the iceberg
The Billy Ripken FF card has spawned a Podcast from Rooster Teeth called the F*ckface Podcast, now known as the Regulation Podcast after RT went under. They deemed doing something for a stupid joke that backfires (like putting that on your bat) as 'F*ckfacing yourself' lol
That's literally my brand of cigarettes I feel so attacked
22:12 anyone who hates on the 2020 season is just salty. Everyone who played had the same opportunity My Dodgers are legitimate champions. 7 time champions baby if you will
You don’t own the team so they ain’t “your” Dodgers. And no other fanbase would accept that 2020 ring (except maybe the Yankees cause they’re desperate and stupid)
29:00 I was at that one. As a cubs fan it hurt
There are more than 50 surviving T206 Honus Wagner cards.
How the hell is Doc Ellis pitching a complete game no-hitter against San Diego in 1970 WHILE TRIPPING BALLS ON LSD not on this iceberg🤦🏽♂️
