Kadena is a cryptocurrency that I came into this review liking and planning on investing in. It’s a project I reviewed over a year ago which, at the time, seemed really promising. That video came out soon after its huge pump in September 2021 where a lot of eyes were on the project, seeing as it was a PoW blockchain claiming 480,000 TPS - the highest TPS offered by any other cryptocurrency, BY FAR!!
However, around 15 months later it’s time to revisit this “revolutionary” project again, breaking it apart on the technicals, fundamentals (including the ecosystem) and giving you my price prediction and overall opinion at the very end!

So the drawback to kda is the ecosystem
Not necessarily, it's a warning sign. The trouble is the tech itself IMO. Untested, full of promises, and fundamentally relies on the Layer-2 that has notable degradation to performance if more than 500 nodes are added (so it's a bottleneck to centralization). Therefore DApps aren't being built so so that's a huge signal that devs aren't keen. As time progresses, however, these could be resolved and an ecosystem could flourish. Until that happens though- I'm out! Hope this clears it up mate :)
@@NoBsCryptoOfficial can I ask how did you know that there will be performance degradation if more than 500 nodes are added. I’m holding quite a bit of kda, and after watching your video I’m thinking “oh shit, did I make the wrong investment”. Where can I find this information like you did?
@@NoBsCryptoOfficial oh I just found this on their website, why does it claim it can power the whole world? Is it 500 nodes per chain? I’m such a noob to this stuff.
Kuro has been proven to support up to 8,000 transactions per second across 500 nodes, and is available for evaluation on AWS and Azure. Lightning+BTC powers El Salvador, but Chainweb's layer 1 scalability and Kuro's near instant finality can power the whole world.
@@NoBsCryptoOfficial They are introcing zk tech through I believe zklabs? Man it's been a while but I know something is changing with layer 2 but it's my main hesitation with Kadena currently also
@@NoBsCryptoOfficial I am not sure if you have an agenda or just are giving misleading info based out of true ignorance, but this is far from the truth. Kadena does not rely on the L2 at all (it is in fact currently outdated regarding Pact, so it's not even usable right now). The ecosystem is growing at fast speed and the Blockchain itself has proven already to be scalable and usable. The proof is out there for anyone to see. Really sad to see comments like yours.

Thanks for your honest review. Not many are doing the stuff you do. Keep up the good work. yes, I feel the same. The amount of transactions and the small ecosystem as of now makes me wait. Maybe in a later stage if ecosystem gets bigger becuase of the 100M fund then I might dca into this. I like the team and tech for sure.

It went to $28 at a 3.5 billion mc. I think the peak of the next bull run we’ll see maybe 10billion mc. So I’m thinking late $80 peak price. Maybe $90

I have read the Bitcoin Standard which is very important as Crypto is more than just technology, it's economics (so this book will also teach you some of this). Also read Mastering Bitcoin by Andreas Antonopoulous and his other book, Mastering Ethereum as well. Those last two can get quite technical, but you'll be a wizz if you get through them. I would also recommend writing down some of the core consensus algorithms that you know of, and reading their whitepapers online (for free). The best thing is to read the whitepapers of projects as well, you will learn a lot from this, and begin to find commonality among the better projects, and smell the BS in the bad ones! I invested 70% of investment in Kadena yes I agree its too early to say about thr success of the project but I think they will solve the issue and increae the ecosystem as soon as possible

Great to see you're sticking with your guns mate, I hope it works out for you - I would never wish anything bad happen to any project looking to legitimately solve an issue or revolutionise an industry. It's indeed a bet, but a bet that I am yet to take (with some expendable capital, yes). Hopefully things turn for the better over the next 12-15 months

I was looking into this project i will take a pass for now. What is your take on privacy coins like monero and pirate chain? People say they could skyrocket if crypto gets super regulated.
I wouldnt write it off, watch more then one video and read some articles then make a decision.
I just reviewed Aleph Zero which may be worth taking a look at! I do like a good privacy coin and think Aleph Zero and Mina are two of the most promising I can think of (Mina is probably a longer-term play), also reviewed Mina not that long ago. I agree they will begin to be used a lot more, especially if underlying L-1's are regulated in some way. But it depends of the degree of regulation per network as well. Be mindful Kadena isn't out for the count, they can still bring things back specially with an active Ecosystem Fund, so it's worth keeping an eye on, however as for right now it's not worth my $$$ as there are plenty of others out there that satisfy my criteria. I fear the centralization issue from both the hashrate (PoW issue) and the Kuro L-2 network (500 node degradation, currently used to prop up the TPS to the 480k number, not used on the network currently though) may be too much to come back from. I hope that makes a little sense? Great to hear from you again mate!
More research is always welcome and I agree! Don't spend too much time watching the maxi's though (Ryan Matta). While they have a deep knowledge of the project, their back pockets tend to overshadow their subjective thinking haha!
@No Bs Crypto a-zero looks good however I stalled on my excitement when they wouldn't comment if their speed was just wallet to wallet transactions and not on chain ones. In other words they were....fudging numbers.. I love privacy coins, but what happened to library scares me. The SEC scares me.

Hey Joe. I think it might 40x, key word is might. The factors I mentioned, or a combination of them, could see it fade into obscurity as this industry is cut-throat with who lives and who dies. I worked hard for my money, Kadena is going to have to show me more in order for me to trust it with an investment. I'm investing in projects that tick more boxes (none tick all of them) Higher market cap projects that are securing more and more deals and working on fostering an expanse ecosystem come the next bull-market. Particularly ones with enterprise adoption in mind. I probably shouldn't mention names here, but DM me on Twitter and I can answer that for you :)

Posted it earlier in the thread but here it is again. Btw DagKnight Upgrade now fully funded by community and underway which makes Kaspa 10X better than anything in Crypto currently. Potentially scaling to 100+ Blocks per second. It will make Kadena look like a Model T post DagKnight. Even without Rust Update & DagKnight it still beats Kadena by a significant margin, and is wildly more Scalable & Secure. Oh Rust Language Re-Write is almost complete too.

But Cardano is theoretically the fastest blockchain. Cardano can do Millions depending on numbers of hydra head. If hydra is live right now, cardano would have 2.3 million tps.
Yeah great point Prince. I think a lot of blockchains can state this. BSV is another blockchain that theoretically has no limit, as well as projects that can dynamically re-shard their partitioned networks with demand, such as Near Protocol, Elrond... etc. I think Kadena was so hyped because it's grouped into this category as well, theoretically (and emphasis on that word here) the more Chainweb chains it adds, the more Kuro nodes chains it can as well, therefore meaning the TPS is unlimited. Again, not the case but that's kinda my point. Everything is theoretical, no one knows what the fastest is until the fastest is handling those numbers consistently and without hiccups. But I think a lot of people were drawn to KDA because she is also PoW. I hope that kinda helps a little brother? If not let me know and I can get more specific?

Nice vid! Curious if you’ve checked out Kaspa/KAS. It’s a PoW coin that’s been getting both a lot of attention and grief from the KDA community lately since it’s also a layer 1 but boasts much faster speeds and BPS then KDA. To be fair one advantage KDA does offer is smart contracts which are currently not supported as of yet but planned for KAS. There’s a lot of nuance and exciting things coming along with this project so I’d be stoked to hear your deep dive and get your take✌️
